do not do business with adt....i am not even sure if this locaiton services me or not.....but i am highly dissatisfied!!!!! you pay a hefty fee up front assuming you will get some typ of service......but after installation they charge a fee for everything......for them so come out their is a fee. the chat is useless....and when my problem was not solved via chat they said a real person would call me back ......tomorrow.... unbelivable......there is no value add for doing business with this company....might have well have brought a do it yourself system, because that is all they are good for. i wish i had read these reviews before i brought....hopefull my review will save someone else.... i have never been so disappointed with a com pany in my life.... read more

cancellation process for ADT health alert was very difficult. I cancelled January 7 but had to pay to the end of January and they are not sending me a confirmation of that information. The respresentative was very rude and not helpful at all. I'm very disappointed in the customer service. read more

I do NOT recommend anyone do business with this company. They charge you $2500+ for equipment. If something is not working properly they charge you $25 travel fee. Yet you already paid all that money to have services installed. And it's not your fought something isn't working properly. Then when you call, customer service ask all these questions that should be in the system. Customer service will place you on hold for a long time. They may & may not return. A service technician window is noon to 5. That's crazy! As if people don't have to work or have nothing better to do but sit around and wait 5 hrs for a technician. I recommend buying your own alarm service or put cameras inside/outside your home. It's definitely cheaper. And will likely not cause you any problems you can't resolve yourself. I heard ADT had a special on installation and was unhappy with the price quoted by Xfinity to upgrade to smoke and fire detectors l, so I called. I was quoted ZERO cost for equipment and installation of motion detectors, door sensors, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and flood detectors and $27/month monitoring charge. I was also sold the fact that ADT doesn't communicate via phone lines, so it is more secure. When the installer arrived, he showed me all of the sensors he thought I should have for security, which would be an additional $4000 or so! Also, he told me the $27 cost was for PHONE LINE SERVICE! Which nobody has anymore, and is claimed, even by ADT, to not be as effective. They are very dishonest. I do not recommend. read more

I'm not easily impressed. But I will say the Installer we had at our Home in Pleasant Ridge was nothing but GREAT! Had a firm hand shake. Looked me in the eye and was very honest with me. I knew most answers before I asked him questions. The Installer's name was Rick. I'll refer ADT to my friends that ask.... and will also say Demand Rick comes as the Installer. He also busted his tail and left the site(my home) Clean. AMY called fro ADT Madison Heights to Confirm Appointment. She was Professional. Their office number was 810-250-4202. I don't write reviews ever. But Rick did such a Great Job. My money is well spent and I wasn't screwed by some Installer I've read so much about the last week in my search for a good security provider. Thanks read more

I am a fairly newer ADT customer (few months) with a full security system (cameras, alarms, fire, etc). I am having an issue with one of my cameras not working correctly, it is showing a live video yet it is stuck on a nighttime clip. When I called, the rep tried to tell me that there is a problem on my app and laptop...keep in mind one is logged in on an app and the other is through ADT Pulse and show the same exact picture. So, NOT on my end and there is obviously a problem with the camera that they sold me or the wiring that the technician had completed (which is TAPED, I must add! This is an outdoor camera and how is this not a safety hazard??). Fast forward to time wasted on the phone with this rep and finally moving forward to having a tech come out to fix or replace this camera and ADT wants to charge me a fee to have them come out to fix a faulty camera that they sold me or installed incorrectly. How are they going to charge me to fix a problem that they created by selling me a faulty camera or a bad install? I am very unhappy with this and am sorry that I went with ADT to protect my family. I also want to mention that their customer service is absolutely horrible in how they handled this matter. ** UPDATE I changed my rating from a 1 star to a 3 star because after the horrible customer service that we dealt with yesterday, ADT followed through and sent Shane out to our house to fix our issue at no charge to me. He showed up on time, was very kind and professional, and fixed the problem quickly along with making sure our system is working properly. read more

Beware bait and switch, and hidden long term contract commitments. I unfortunately, did not do my research properly before signing my parents up w/ ADT. Hopefully this review will help someone else avoid the same trap. It was never made clear that at the time of install that I would have no recourse if they could not or did not like or use the system (i.e.; no possibility of cancelation before 3 years). The service is not easy for elderly persons to use, and they simply choose to never arm it or use it in any way. After paying for a year and a half of service, I requested early cancelation due to their lack of use which is clear from the records. ADT offered zero alternatives - I will have to continue to pay for another year and a half of service that they never use. Very disappointing lack of customer service. I highly recommend other more inexpensive and more customer-oriented home security providers or alternate system (i.e.; Ring). read more

Another bait and switch company. First installer was told to leave and refused because he insisted I needed additional installations that I did not want . A bit scary had I not had my contractor present. They also refused to cancel my service and billed me 3 months. Terrible service! read more

After being a customer for more than 10 years I contacted ADT regarding an upgrade to my existing system. The sales person I spoke with arranged an upgrade to the Pulse system at an additional cost. Today I received a call from their scheduling team and was advised that I would need to sign a new three year contract. If I would have been advised of this during my initial call I would have said no and moved on to another provider. I have canceled the installation of the upgrade and will find another provider. Why stay with a provider that requires a new contract when all you want is an upgrade? read more

What was discussed over the phone was NOT was was going to be installed. Beware!! This company is horrible to deal with. They came to my house and installed system and after 8 months, i had to unexpectedly move. i called to terminate my service but they told me i had to pay for 3 more years because i was in contract. I do not recall ever signing up for a contract! They told me if i wanted paperwork/recordings of me authorizing a contract, that i would have to file a lawsuit and get a Subpeona. i would never ever ever recommend them to anyone. I called ADT to get an estimate. Didn't like their offer at *all* and didn't sign up, but I had foolishly already given them my contact info. I got swamped with other things so I made NO other calls to ANY other companies. Well, my phone has not stopped ringing from other security companies who could only have gotten my contact info from ADT. It appears ADT sold it to them. My phone now rings constantly from companies I've never heard of and the hassle is huge. Call them for info if you must, but under NO circumstances give them your contact info. read more
