Go with somebody else. SERIOUSLY! Like, a fake security camera would do more for you at this point... You'll probably spend HOURS on the phone, on hold as they bounce you from one department to the next because nobody is capable of handling finishing your install, that the technicians cannot do, because the customer service reps on your hour/two-hour long phone call didn't set up the account properly... It's now been 8 days and they still haven't finished it and are still talking about charging me more money for labor/parts for things I already own and are already installed (2 years ago) but they have to replace, because someone else at ADT screwed up... So ADT messes up and the customer has to pay. In the meantime, they refuse to active the service because they aren't done installing everything, so the house sits un-monitored.... Trying to talk to customer service and after 5 hours, 11 minutes being bounced around between departments. Ask for a supervisor to help: disconnected. Start over from the very begining every single time. Transferred again, no help, transferred back, hold for another hour, etc etc etc 100% incompetent. Their hold system: "We care about your time" That's a flat our lie. They care about stealing your money and providing you ZERO service. read more

Old tech, bad service, and terrible interface. These are the pillars of ADT. Seriously, stay away. Go buy some cameras that link up with your phone and you are already a better security specialist than ADT. They are the mall cops of home security, read more

My elderly brother's home came with a 36 month contract. The battery went dead within 6 months and ADT refused to replace it unless he paid for it as well as for a service person to come out and install it. He turned the system off months ago since it wasn't operational. In essence, he has paid nearly $1300 for 6 months of service. To add insult to injury, they are now dunning him for 3 months of payments, threatening to report him to credit bureaus, despite the fact that his contract ended and they had a security deposit. This verges on elder financial abuse and if they keep this up they will be hearing from our attorney. read more

Hello I am sending this message to all that wants to hear, I was a loyal customer of ADT For approximately 3 years. In the last 3 months my security service has been breached over 3 times. I've informed them that my doorbell camera was not working and that my neighbor watched someone walk on my porched that she didn't believe I knew. Their recommendation was to mail me a new camera and have me fix it instead of them coming out and addressing the matter. The 2nd Issue Is that my doorcam have been removed and they never contacted me neither was the police sent to my residence. Last but not least my entire panel was disconnected in my home for 6 hours and they never contacted me to make sure I was OK nor was the police dispatched to my home.. The manager stated this was highly unacceptable but the supervisor only offered me $23 to compensate me for the last 3 months of trouble. My experience with them has been horrible when facing issues. I've recently disconnected my service and hired a new security service. I no longer will recommend ADT to anyone. I will be reaching out to their district manager to complain about my experience and the lack of concern with their company. read more

It's been 2 months and I never received the $100 rebate check promised by this company. I called and they said they could not help me. ADT only has your back when it's convenient for them. read more

I have a sign in front my house that says NO SOLICITING. I also have a hand written note on my door that says DO NOT KNOCK. So what does the ADT solicitor do? He knocks on my door... Are you people freaking clueless or what.. read more

DO NOT INSTALL ADT THROUGH THIS COMPANY. We had ADT for 4 years, and loved it, and trusted ADT.. We moved to Colorado Springs and wanted the same system. The installation time was to be 2-3 hours. The installer didn't install what we wanted, but sold us a bunch of stuff to make our home more secure. SIX hours later, it was up and running. A few days later we went away for several hours, and had set the alarm for "stay' since we have two large dogs. The system changed to 'away'. The alarm never went off with the dogs roaming around. The system clearly is ineffective. I called to cancel, they said we're under contract, we own the system (even though we haven't made a payment yet, and won't). These people are clearly not after customer service, just selling stuff and hoping people don't notice their 'security system' doesn't work. Interesting that ALL their reviews have one star. read more

If I could give negative numbers I will. This company is absolutely horrible. I was overcharged for three years for a house that I vacated and stopped service in. They had, after a lot of work and paperwork, refunded me over $3000 for overcharges. Then, the complete idiots charged me again for the home that I vacated three years ago, and they admitted to. THEN, I received collections notice for the bill that was not paid on a house from three years ago. This company is horrible, they are complete morons, and they are supposed to be trusted to protect your home, belongings and family?!?!?! Stay away, never use this company they need to go bankrupt for their complete and utter incompetence. read more

This company has been nothing but a headache since we got service with them. While trying to move our service to a new house we were told that ADT blue was made for renters and it would be cheaper for us to switch over. Now that we have switched they are telling us we owe them for the remainder of the previous contract we had. Which is the exact opposite of what we were told when discussing switching. read more

I am a new customer and have had the WORST customer service experience with this company since I started. From the technician to the supervisors I have spoken to. Nobody is on the same page, I keep getting different answers to the same questions I ask and have yet to have my issue resolved. This has been going on for 6 months! I am really disappointed in my experience with this company. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

There is a very good reason all the reviews for this company are 1 star. We're not talking the local company. Their poor service seems to be nationwide. Company policy. When I called to cancel the service I wasn't getting, all I got was a sales pitch for more useless services. And once I convinced the customer service rep that I really did want to cancel the service, I got yet another call from yet another salesperson wanting to sell me yet more stuff that doesn't work. When I told her I really didn't want their service any more, she hung up on me. Classy! And watch out for the fine print. They will use it to bleed you seven ways to Sunday. read more

I had an ADT security system installed in December, 2020. My video doorbell hasn't worked for about a month. I called ADT for help, and they somehow checked it remotely, and said the battery was very low. Rather than send out a technician to recharge, repair or replace it, they walked me through various methods to charge it. They told me to lift it off its bracket, and move the switch on the back from "on" to "off", then after 30 seconds, back to "on" again. When that didn't reset it, they said to try to charge it with a micro USB cable, and leave it connected for few hours or overnight. So I tried charging it with three different micro USB cables, but none of them charged it. So they scheduled a service tech to come troubleshoot it, but no one showed up in the four hour time frame they supposedly scheduled! So today I called to reschedule, and they said I'd be expected to pay $25 for a field service visit! So I, who pay a $60 monthly fee for their system, has to pay for their service tech to do what they should have done in the first place, rather than waste my time either waiting on hold to talk to them, or going along with their little game getting me to fix THEIR defective video camera! ADT should be the ones paying ME for wasting my time! read more

If we could give this company a 0 I sure as heck would! We have been a good standing customer for almost 6 years now. We decided that we did not want the service anymore. Not because they did anything wrong but because we were going another route. We called yesterday and it went downhill from there. The first person we talked to when we call the 800# was nice. She said ok, no problem. Let me transfer you over to cancellation department. From there, the crap hit the fan. I explained to the lady, after verifying all info on my account for the third time in the same phone call, that I want to cancel my account. And she proceeded to try to sell me on staying with ADT. After four different sales tactics and four different times of us saying no, Im getting pissed off because she's interupting me, talking over me and not listening. My husband then gets on the phone, tells her to stop trying to sell and cancel the account now. Then she tries again another 3 times and it wasn't until my husband started yelling and cursing at her that she was like oh you want to cancel. Then she started telling us that we were putting our house at risk, that we weren't secure, that we better check to make sure we aren't going to upset our homeowners insurance etc when we cancel. My husband then threatened to call a layer and told her to shut the F*** up, then he put me back on the phone. She had the audacity to get frustrated with me because my husband took the phone and gave it back to me. Really?!?!?!?!?!?! Then she started to try to sell me about...WTH?!!??!?! I then said cancel my account, while screaming at her at the top of my lungs. Then I said I want a manager. She then gave us a manger who was just as stupid and rude. She told me that its in my contract and they require a 30 days notice to cancel. I have a huge credit on my account after paying in advance and they are now going to take an additional month of service. I explained to her that after her csr was so rude to us she should just skip that and cancel my account and give me credit. She said no, they don't overrule that. So now Im paying for something I don't want, don't have a choice because they already got a year of my money, and have to wait 6 weeks for a credit. Then she told me I was unprofessional, rude etc. She literally kept speaking one me until I screamed at the top of my lungs to "Shut the F**** up and let me speak" then she was like that's no way to talk to me ma'am. Really? I explained her what her CSR did and she said they are trained to upselland try to retain customer. I told her I worked in customer service and there is a difference between retention and harassment. This was harassment. DO NOT USE ADT!!!! Horrible Horrible Horrible. I tried calling local ADT and it went straight to same number. I asked the manager for number to corporate and she said "you can contact them but they are gong to tell you the same thing, heres an email address". Really, they care so much that you can reach them by email that will never be answered. Her response was "thats my answer, anything else" Almost gave me and my husband a stress heart attack. They are great when you are paying but when you don't want them anymore their tactics are absurd. I wish there was someone I could talk to there that could fix this!!! DO NOT USE ADT !!!!!!! read more

STAY AWAY!!! We installed our system with ADT under a 2 year contract in April 2015. We have been month to month customers (no contract) since May 2017. After numerous calls for technician for 'out of range' error, fire alarms failing to turn off, we sold our home and called to cancel our services for February 9th (7 day notice). They refuse to cancel until March 4th stating we have to give 30 day notice. They have no signature and cannot provide proof of us acknowedging or allowing a 30 day cancellation. This is illegal!!! We do not own the home after the 9th, cannot provide access at all and yet they are trying to force us to pay for an additional 23 days of service. I will NEVER, EVER have ADT again read more

Well, I had an appointment to walk through my new home to set up service. The rep called about an hour before to talk. I knew a little of what I wanted... so good for her to A. Talk me down to "save money" B. Didn't show up cause with out ever seeing my Home she knew exactly what "I needed" Said she would send an email of proposal (which never came) then I looked at reviews and it seems this is common business practice. So thank you since my time isn't important or valued. I figure it like this if they can't even show up to an appointment, why would I trust them to protect my home? I already have their system for my shop and after the ridiculous long contract (3 years) I'm switching to another company. When these guys get so big they just stop with customer service. And who has 3 year contracts? You know why.? Cause it doesn't matter how they treat you or how they perform at their job they have you locked in... walk away and look for another company! read more

ADT Security Services - Security Systems Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

AWFUL -- don't keep their word, no matter how many times and hours and hours of your time you spend on the phone resolving problems. They bill you whatever number they feel like, don't refund, bill you for permits that don't even exist or you pay for yourself. The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. read more

I have had ADT for 5 years. I have waited for a week for repairs to be made. They were supposed to be here today before 5. I called at 3 today and was told that they wouldn't be here until after 6:30. Not going to cancel dinner plans after they made me wait all day. read more

This is the WORST company! Their representative STOLE our equipment, which we could prove. They said they would reimburse us. However, after having to purchase the new equipment and rewire because their inept installer removed our perfectly working wiring, we have STILL NOT BEEN PAID. Calls to customer service go unanswered. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! read more

You better do research before signing anything with these guys. I've been an ADT customer for nearly 20 years and their customer service now sucks! They now have rogue independent contractors roaming around with no accountability (as well as customer service BTW) When I asked to speak to a manager, she showed her poor training by trying to win the argument. All I wanted was my phone call returned and got half of what I wanted installed and billed for everything. After repeated calls I've had none returned and I'm looking for a new alarm service. What a sad state of business when a long term customer is treated this way. At this rate I'd give them a zero chance of survival. read more

Please don't waste your money on this company. They have the absolute worst customer service and if you have an issue they'll try to blame you instead of their faulty equipment. read more

This is the absolute worst company I have ever had the displusure of working with. To start off I was told we would have a 2 year contract since we are USAA members. So 2 years goes by and I call to cancel since we will be doing a military move. And was told oh you have a 3 year contract. Ok, no big deal we will be on military orders. So fax in orders, wait a while call and double check to make sure everything is good.... Nope orders are "lost" ok fax in orders again. Same thing, so now we are going on probably 8 times faxing, emailing, calling weekly. They were still taking money out of my bank account. Last week they take out our "balance" of almost $500. So again I call for like the 20th time and am told sure we'll refund you the balance you never said we could take but you still owe it to us. Just like the last payment they said would be refunded. I now tell all my friends, family and anyone talking about home security to never go with this rip off of a company. read more

I have had ADT for 2 years out of a 3 year contract. I have not needed any service, not had any calls to ADT in this time. The battery replacement process is insane, difficult and basically impossible for the uninitiated. The unit started beeping and I could not get it to stop. Called ADT and they could not get it to stop because I had misplaced my security word and they do not have any "clue". It is impossible to change the battery. I would have to order on line (and wait days for it to arrive) or drop everything and drive 45 minutes to a battery story. The process of getting the battery out of the unit is very difficult even for someone who is very mechanical and I doubt that I could get the unit working again. ADT cannot get a tech to my home for 3 days and the unit will continue to beep me (as a reminder!) every few hours. Now, I have to stay home for a 4 hour block of time and not go to work for the tech to come out to my home. Then it is a $25 service call. I was not given any instructions re changing the battery when the unit was installed. I was not advised to change the battery at some predetermined time to prevent this inconvenience. If I can terminate my contract without penalty, I will. If I have to wait another year, I will definitely not renew my contact. All of the representative that I talked to were very nice, in spite of my frustration, and did their best to help me. read more

I would give ADT zero stars if I could. The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. Terrible customer service and if you need to talk to someone good luck. Any time I've called I've been on the phone for at least an hour and a half. Horrible money hungry company that does not care about you at all. read more

Don't use this company!!! When we moved in our house we paid $1,800.00 for a new system with cameras, door locks, etc... they assured me that the equipment was movable. When I called about moving our equipment they told me basically that they have a new system and nothing of my old system is compatible and I will have to purchase most everything again. When I asked why because they have a new system do I have to repay for all the equipment that I paid for a year and nine months ago, she just stated that they are trying to make their new system more awesome. When I kept trying to get that point across again she just continued to give me the run around not making sense. Then I said I will think about their quote for paying $700 again for a new system and just want to cancel for now she informed me that I would owe them a $800 cancelation fee because I had the system installed less then three years ago, even though I have been a customer with them for almost four years!!! Do not go with this company as they are greedy and will try to screw you over any way they can to put an extra buck in their pocket!!! Oh and she said that they let renters move houses and not consider it a new contract but not homeowners! So I guess renters get preference over homeowners with Adt!!! Isn't that prejudice no matter how you look at it!!! I guess homeowners who pay them thousands of dollars for equipment don't matter to them!! And I guess loyalty means nothing to them!!! Beware!!! read more

While initially the system worked fine, after a year, the Pulse system started having problems with repeated trouble codes and after two visits by technicians, there was still no fix. I actually had to disassemble the system when I would stay there because you couldn't stop the trouble fault alarm from beeping incessantly!!! Calls to ADT always ended with "we have to have a tech respond before we can do anything". Tried to cancel before end of contract and they would not, even at the end when I tried to cancel ADT stated "you have to give us 30 days notice". This is the poorest customer service I have ever had. As a police office I will never recommend ADT to ANYBODY EVER!!!!! Poor excuse for a company, you don't mean squat to them once you sign the contract. Don't do it!!!!! read more

AVOID! Lies and high pressure sales tactics from the first phone call to the end. First they insisted on a SSN so they could run a security check before visiting our house to assess our needs and provide an estimate. Once we convinced them to provide an estimate over the phone, the installer would not honor the estimate. He didn't tell us he would not honor the estimate until he spent 6 hours installing and explaining the system to us. At 10pm when I asked him to remove the security system, he recommended we keep the system overnight and all we needed to do was call him in the morning if we still wanted it uninstalled. The next day when we called, their local installer (Defender Security) insisted we fax (not email) the notice of cancellation. After sending the fax and making 3 phone calls, Defender has still refused to schedule the equipment removal. We've already scheduled Xfinity home security to install their security system. Thus far, Xfinity is professional, honest and cheaper! read more

I had a lightning strike that fried part of my security system in mid June. Since this time ADT has blown five service calls. Either their technician failed to show up, their electrician failed to show up, they did not successfully complete the repair (replacement of two Pulse light switches) and on one occasion they failed to bring the equipment necessary to complete the repairs. I have had to schedule time off from work on five occasions for absolutely no reason and at considerable personal expense...namely my vacation time. (They would not come out on a weekend). Two months later and I still cannot use their system to operate the majority of my outside lights. All I have gotten from ADT is broken promises and apologies; both of which seem a little less than genuine at this point. Their contract leaves the consumer with absolutely no recourse regardless of any damage they cause of failures to meet their commitment. Don't be fooled by ADT's slick TV commercials and fancy sales presentations! Avoid ADT at all cost! read more
