All of the instructors and videographers were awesome and fun. I was lucky enough to have Art as my instructor. He's absolutely the best! So funny and cool. He made sure I had the best, most adrenaline fueled birthday ever!! I've done a lot of industrial health and safety work and I appreciated how Art and everyone else were constantly checking and double checking equipment, altitude, and time; and worked like a well oiled team - I felt no worries. I highly recommend purchasing the video package if it's your first jump. Scotty was my videographer and he did an amazing job! Those videographers are really crazy! I received a link to my video package within hours and love the amazing video they sent. Of course I've shared it with everyone I know!! But what really surprised me was the number of high quality photos they sent as well. So worth the money! Personally, I think you'd be crazy to jump the first time and not get the video/pictures. They sent me a link for a discounted second skydive and as soon as I get my taxes filed I'm taking advantage of it! I was rudely informed that customers are expected to "plan on waiting hours to get their turn." It appears that this is actually a first come - first served operation. I was informed that, if I didn't like it, we could go somewhere else. We did! I've been involved in Army airborne operations for over 30 years and find Skydive Palatka unsatisfactory. We love it here. The beach parking area for this specific location has about 15-20 spots do its a small location and can fill up quit quickly. The best part is the short walk. Its a place you only have to walk about 30 yards to the beach. No crossing A1A where it could be a horrible game of Frogger being played. lol There are two covered picnic areas that have benches and a table for some relieve of that summer sun when you want to enjoy a bite to eat or even take a break from the rays. The times we have been there, we have not experienced any bugs, which is a huge positive, unlike Jax Beach.. ouch those suckers can really hurt and be annoying. They do have public restrooms and garbage cans for your trash. Please use them and keep out beaches clean. Fun in the sun, clean waters (sometimes almost green at times) with peace and quite makes a day at the beach so much more enjoyably.
