After multiple quotes and trying to decide the correct time/people to perform the work, I decided to go with Morges Painting for a number of reasons. When Mike first came to my home for an estimate, he immediately took notice of the poor paint job done by the previous owners. I have aluminum beams on the front of my house, and Mike said that there was no primer under the paint, which was causing the paint to peel. He stated that a proper job would be to remove the paint to the metal, prime the surface appropriately, and then apply the paint. Some other estimates I received did not indicate that primer was needed. Also, some painters told me that the paint was peeling simply because it was too old. It was clear from the outset that Mike not only knew what he was talking about but that he wanted to perform the job properly. He and Shawn did an absolutely terrific job transforming my home at a very fair price. I cannot express how patient, kind, accommodating, reliable and trustworthy they were during the whole process. Even though the job took a bit longer than expected due to some rainy days, not once did they cut any corners or try to speed along to rush to another job. They thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly, and properly prepped the exterior of the home prior to painting it in order to ensure that the job would hold well over the coming years. They were timely, professional, and so incredible through the whole process. And to top things off, without prompting, they even replaced my house numbers to match the paint colors I chose because the old numbers were rusted. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would. When he came to my house, we showed him our foyer, family room, kitchen and upstairs hallway (all of which we were painting the same color). He scheduled a couple times and cancelled but I didn't care because nothing was urgent. He finally started and finished in a week which was fine. When he came back to check everything out, he told me he thought we only had 1 built in book case and didn't realize we had 2 so he would have to charge me more. I thought he was kidding but he was not since the final bill had an extra $500 charge added. I was really disgusted but paid the balance. The following morning we went to open our windows and found that they had never painted the bottoms, there were splashes of paint on the glass and the light holders on the ceiling were not painted and the old color was still there. The painters were very nice and cleaned up great every day before they left. My husband and I have a small business and when I give my customer a price...that's the price. If it takes longer than anticipated to complete the job, that's my problem...not my customer's. There was a problem with the ceiling in the family room which they fixed and charged me $375. I did not mind paying that money because it was a problem that would not have been able to foresee. The bookcase glass shelves were removed so it would be easy to paint like an empty wall. The whole job was supposed to be $3500 and to have an additional charge of $500 I believe was unethical. I have to say that they did come back to fix the things they missed but the owner did not.

All of the contractors I've dealt with with the exception of Beauty Walls - have enjoyed back and forth communication, and being very communicative and clear. Sviat literally told us "I'm not in the communications department" on one of his bad days where he was 'inconvenienced' by having to respond to our emails and requests. He rage deleted our project from his system, and when we asked him about it he said that he let his emotions get the best of him and shouldn't have done it in the moment (see more later). Dealing with him and his business delayed our move in date by a month. A prime example of communications with him will be ie - send email Monday, no reply, we follow up Wednesday, then he replies, then we respond within minutes to hours, and have to follow up again Friday for an update. We were going to try to make it work with him - since he did our floors for another property many years ago and went without hiccup. He emailed us (this is copy and pasted: " I made a mistake deleting that estimate, I started again and I'm not able to overcome my emotions. Sorry I can't do your floors. There are good companies on Yelp.com or Angi.com with trustful reviews. We can do painting for you after the floors are done" I would recommend this business if you are ok dealing with this unprofessionalism and childlike behavior As soon as we moved onto quotes from 2 other businesses, WOW night and day. Very communicative, no babysitting and having to follow up for responses, and even more - wow no complaining about having to communicate?! Bonkers. Such a horrible experience, when I really wanted to initially support an independent family business.
