Plenty of shopping, dining and coffee nearby. The room was clean and modern with a fully stocked, complimentary mini bar. Loved the bathroom, the bar upstairs and the breakfast buffet and coffee with Salvatore was a great start to each day. The downstairs spa was a bit small, but enjoyable nonetheless, with steam room, sauna, and simple hydrotherapy stations. All in all this was the best accommodations we had our entire 10 day trip throughout Italy. Will gladly stay here again! The staff, service, location, amenities and facility were all stellar!

This has been my preferred hotel in Rome lately - have stayed here 4 times in the last 5 months…read more It's clean, modern and the location is good, with close proximity to all of the sights in the city, as well as the main train station (Roma Termini). Breakfast is included if you're a Hilton gold member or higher, and has a great selection of items. Some of the rooms include a terrace, which is a great feature when the weather is nice.
We spent three nights here before an Eastern Mediterranean cruise departing from Civitavecchia. We…read morearrived and departed via Roma Termini, just a few blocks away. That made the location extremely convenient. The hotel sits a short walk from Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope Francis is buried. Some areas near the main train station are often described as unsafe by Italian standards. We did not experience that near the hotel. Tourists and locals were out late, and the neighborhood stayed active into the evening. Rome is compact and easy to navigate. Most major attractions felt reachable within about 20 minutes by taxi, bus, or rail. We tried to visit the Trevi Fountain at 10:00 pm to avoid crowds. That plan failed completely(see pic). It was packed. Locals eat later than in the U.S., and many parts of the city stay busy well into the night. Restaurants remain open late. A note for U.S. travelers. European hotel rooms run smaller for the price. Even using Hilton points, our room would have cost close to $700 per night USD and felt small. The hotel offers a pleasant rooftop bar and a spacious lobby with multiple seating areas. The buffet breakfast was a solid, comfortable way to start the day. It was included for us as Hilton Diamond members. I am unsure of the cash price. Overall, the location and amenities make this a smart pre-cruise choice, especially for travelers relying on rail connections.

It was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and a market which was nice! Conveniently close to the bus and subway. Bus is down the block and is FREE! You can take the 85 bus straight to the Colosseum. Subway is about a 5 minute walk. You can buy a subway pass for €1.5 at the newspaper stand by the bus stop. | s e r v i c e | Everyone we encountered was very nice! Some spoke more English than others but they got the basics down where you can carry through a conversation. Two things that really stood out to me about this hotel was one, they provided nice, big umbrellas when it rained. And two, they loaned you a cell phone to use for FREE while staying with them! You can use it to call locally and to use the internet. It really came in handy! | r o o m | Our room was small but livable. [ - ] I didn't like that they pushed two twin beds together to make a bigger bed. You can feel where they joined and it was uncomfortable. [ + ] They provided a hair dryer. [ - ] No clock or fridge. If you want ice then you'll have to ask the front desk or bartender and they'll give you a small bucket. [ - ] Rough towels and small shower. | b r e a k f a s t | They have a breakfast buffet open from 730am - 10:30am. Food was pretty decent. For beverages they had different kinds of coffee and juices. I suggest the carrot one! For the hot breakfast they had "bacon" (which was really fried pancetta ), scrambled eggs, pancake, sausage and beans in tomato sauce. For the cold breakfast they had cereal, yogurt (must try!), cold cuts with cheese and fruits. Overall, our stay here at the Holiday Inn was good. We made the best out of it especially since we were on vacation. We've never had an issue with any of the workers. I would def come back again.
The Inn at The Roman Forum

We had a fantastic stay here. The hotel is very unique and the history is truly eternal!…read more The hotel sits just minutes walk from the Roman Forum, Colosseum, and Cerchi Park. However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain. All details are thought of here including mini bar, clothes steamer, hair dryer, toiletries and a welcome gift. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They are always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is a special place and experience. The nostalgia of standing and staying where the Romans once stood 2000 years ago was definitely a treat! The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings and wine in the evening. The lounge just inside of the terrace is cozy and comfortable to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening and there's a cozy fireplace to warm up, which we took full advantage of after a long wet rainy day in the colosseum and Roman forum. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special Roman experience. We will definitely be back!
