Instead, after the initial phone interview, I was left feeling like I had to figure out much of it on my own and actually felt more confused than before. The most disappointing part was the lack of real connection and communication. I never felt like the attorney truly listened to my concerns or made a real effort to understand what I was trying to accomplish. A year after my settlement was completed, I was getting mysterious calls for collections for my ambulance ride. However, the bill was never sent to me to verify the debt. Michael assured to me that the paperwork they sent was not the right paperwork to verify. But me being skeptical was still afraid and overly cautious because I'm a person who pays all his debts, and didn't want my credit score affected. So Michael suggested that he can hold some of the settlement money as a "just in case" fund until the statutes of limitations expire. I think I can say that for any normal person, this would also seem to be a kind of sticky situation to take on as an alternative, right? Because this agreement requires trust.
