My mother in law took her dog here and they requested a simple lamb cut on her Maltese. They told her she was too matted which was not true and they charged $60 to shave her down to the skin! When we called to ask why they shaved her so close they said she was too matted and that they don't brush matted hair. To be honest this is just laziness on their part because we took her to a groomer when we first got her and she had knots and they were able to give her a nice a haircut. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!! Manager was rude and told us to go somewhere else if we needed to get our dog groomed. They only care about over charging people to do a shitty job! read more

We just got our Maltese groomed at this place my mother showed her a picture of what she wanted and what they delivered was something completely unacceptable, they shaved her down completely because of matting, now listen, I understand matting I've dealt with it for the past 15 years with 3 dogs and I've felt bad taking my dog to the groomers with really bad matted hair before, but they always at least tried to delivered a good looking dog even if the final cut was shorter than expected, I called their store afterwards to voice my opinion and the store manager gave me excuses that I've never heard any other pet groomer spew out, I am a very understanding person but she was very short with me and told me that next time to take the dog to the other groomer (when I explained I never gotten this type of results with a matted dog) The cut our dog got could have been done at home and they charged full price for it. their are 15 different types of haircuts for cats. one of them is a sanitary cut which consists of trimming excess hair around the anus and back of the legs. I specified Five times that I wanted a sanitary cut. The cat lady said 3-4 hours which I thought was excessive since my appt was for 10am. went home and they were done in an hour. picked the cat up and they charged me $80. I thought that was excessive. but these days everything is. Got home and my cat had been given a Lion cut. I have a Birman 12 year old cat which must have haircuts every two to three months due to prior intestinal blockage. When I first brought him to Adogable several months ago, it was the last day for their prior cat groomer. What a mess! I was not happy. So now three months have passed and I decided to give them one more try with their new cat groomer. So glad I did. She did a wonderful job. In addition they make it easy to schedule and get in and out. If you are there for even five minutes you can see the care and patience they have with our babies, and their high maintenance owners! I am now a raving fan! I wanted to add one more thing. If I had read these reviews I would have hesitated in coming here. I live in Valencia Lakes and Adogable Pets have rave reviews on our NextDoor site; and, if there was a gripe lord knows you would hear it there! As much business as they do, I guess there will be some issues. Plus, when pet owners think their babies have not been cared for we get very upset and want to tell the world, I guess. One week ago today I made the mistake of taking took my little 11 month old, 5 .5 lb Havanese poodle to Adogable Pet Groomers/Butchers. Besides the fact that the receptionist was rude and inattentive, Bella did not smell clean, and the cut was wrong (as I explained very clearly what I wanted), I chalked it up to a bad choice and I will never take her there again. But although her hair on her head is very short, the groomer managed to get a bow on her head. I was a little curious as to how it was attached, but I was shocked to find that when Bella finally pulled the bow off (as most dogs do), there was a hard ridge on her head about an inch long where the bow had been attached. I called Adogable immediately and asked what the ridge was. I thought maybe someone had GLUED it to her head, because the alternative was just too painful to consider. I I first spoke with the receptionist - who was basically uncaring, so I asked to speak to the manager. When I re-explained what I saw on Bella's head, she immediately took a defensive tone and started yelling into the phone in an effort to talk over me. Not Good. I finally had tell her to stop interrupting me. I explained it looked like glue, and....another tirade from her. I had to interrupt again. I was hoping it was glue but it was attached to her head. Come to find out after closer inspection it was....a SCAB. The "groomer" had to dig the bow clip into Bella's skin just to get the bow on, which, by the way, I never requested. I took Bella back to them for further inspection to meet with the manager Susan and the owner - I believe Laurie. The first thing Susan did was come at Bella with a fine tooth comb to COMB out the scab! I LOST it. Not to the point of calling the police, but Scott and I were both livid. Then the store OWNER, Laurie? started to try to pick at the scab with her fingernail! As if this was the right thing to do. I snatched Bella back and Scott asked for a refund and the owner said, "I'm in no position to give you a refund, but I'll take off a little from her next grooming". NEXT?? NEXT? So now, I have to take Bella to the vet to have her looked at ($80) just to find out if we will need to have this scar (which has already caused her hair to mat) surgically removed. Can you believe it?? How much money is this going to cost us and most importantly, HOW MUCH PAIN did they cause my little Bella. I DO NOT equate my puppy to the worth of people, but sadly, we don't know what people do to our pets when they cannot speak for themselves. It's just like a child or a senior being abused. They cannot speak out themselves! We must be their voice and tell all of your animal loving friends to NOT GO TO Adogable Pet groomers because they CANNOT be trusted with your precious pet!! UPDATE: Took Bella to Vet on Saturday morning and the vet had to scrape scab off of her scalp as hair had was attached and the skin had started to die. I have all of the pictures but yelp wouldn't let me add them for some reason. Regardless, now she's getting wound care, a special wash, antibiotics, wearing a cone and pain meds. AWFUL! First, the staff is wearing masks, which is wonderful. I'm rather surprised reading some of these reviews, as my experience was nothing but positive. The staff is friendly and caring. I brought my little mixed breed for a bath and haircut; she is a rescue that had been abused in the past and I was concerned about how she'd react. Susan, the groomer, let me stay with her during the whole process, and she was so kind and gentle to my furbaby. They made My baby look like a racing dragster that has huge slick tires on the back and bicycle tires on the front! One start is more than they deserves. I had to call 10 times to report my puppy was abused. The owner defense to my claim was that I neglected my puppy. I told them no to shave the puppy. They arbitrarily shaved her face, front legs and belly, also shopped her long hair , deliver to me bleeding and traumatized. This is bizarre, even vets that are licensed doctors do not perform any services without pet parent authorization. They have no skills or certifications. Most of all they do not own my puppy to do what they think is best without my consent. A bunch of yahoo's working there, ruined my family pictures taken today. The place stinks , no social distancing , complete chaos's. If you want to have your dog embarrassed , go there! I contacted several others groomers and they told me that they would not do shave a dog unless the owner authorize it or requested. We are in shock with this fiasco, in top of they didn't do what I ask for Nails clip, inside ears trim and sanitary area trimming, they charged me $60. What a ripoff. I checked on Yelp...no reviews, eek. At first I didn't plan an using them but I'm glad I did. Lynn was so friendly with helping me set up my appt. when I got there I met with a groomer who talked to me about how to cut her. Made me feel very comfortable. When I picked up Roxy she looked great, she was just hanging out and chilling waiting for me to pick her up. I liked that considering at PetSmart they put her in a cage (we don't do that). I'm not a happy pup owner. I brought my puppy to Adogable for her first grooming and really specified to leave her (pants) legs alone because we liked her furry legs. Nope, we picked her up and her legs were shaven. I brought her again for her second grooming. This time I really, really made it quite clear that they had shaved her legs last time and that's NOT what I requested and to PLEASE don't cut them. I told the gal who put the info into the computer and also told the gal that was going to groom her. I told them about the mistake they had made the last time. Please leave her legs alone! Of course if you have read my review this far, you know what happened. Grrrr. On top of that, all the fur around her mouth and chin were not cut! Fool me once, shame on you. My Dog has been to this facility many times and on his last visit he received a bad cut from them. The cut was bleeding and left a scar for weeks. At the time they apologized and agreed to honor a discount on the next visit. Well we returned for the next visit and was only offered a 5% discount. So they hurt my dog and only provided a measly 5% discount. After speaking with Management and The Owners they refused to raise the discount. I would not recommend this facility because they clearly DO NOT value their customers and do not care about injuring your dogs. read more

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 I had an appointment to have my pet groomed at 1:30PM. My dog, "Bo" has been going to this groomer for 4 years and they know by his account that he gets a Lion cut and that he is an older dog. The grooming appointment usually only lasts about an hour and forty-five minutes as they know he is 14 years old and always takes good care of him. I dropped "Bo" of as I usually do and we went over the cut and she wrote down the lion cut and I said he is 14 years old remember and please be gentle with him. She said of course we will. It was over 2 hours and I had not gotten a call to pick him up and so I called them at around 3:15PM and they seemed busy and said well because of the coronavirus we are just so busy but I just washed him and it will be another hour. I said why did they schedule so many and that he was older and that this was going to be hard on him. They called around 4:40PM and said he was ready. I got there and was ready to pay as I always do and I looked behind the counter and didn't see him. I heard a woman doing a groom in the back with a dog telling the dog to "stay still, just stay still" in a very annoying tone like she had had it. I looked over and saw that it was my dog though it was not cut as a lion, they had shaved the hair completely off of "Bo". I am assuming my 14 year old dog was having a hard time standing that long back there and wanted to lay down. I was shocked, crushed and angry all at once and said "What did you do to my dog". The front read he was to have a Lion cut and the groomer said kind of yelling from that place that it wasn't clear. I think the manager went and got my dog and I paid and even the manager realized "Bo" was having a hard time walking. Of course she thought it was from a slippery floor but that is not what it turned out to be. "Bo's back legs no longer worked from the stress and amount of time they had this dog up in the grooming station. They want to say the dog wasn't up there very long but he was there from 1:30pm till 4:45pm and believe me the Doctor at the veterinarian clinic felt differently. "Bo could barely stand to go to the bathroom and even sat back in his own poop. "Bo" had to be carried and put upright to eat. I thought when I took him to the vet that I would have to put him down but the vet gave him a steroid, gabapentin, robaxin, and some GI protectents. We called Adogable back and has emailed them to discuss this with the owner and she has refused to speak with us. I believe that she cares very little about her business and very little about the animals that she makes her living off of. The manager has apologized for her and the groomer never did. I believe when you have a business you should be more concerned about your customers and hurting "Bo" is unacceptable. read more

I have been to Adogable Pet three times. The first time they did a decent job groomer my dogs, I paid for my two dogs to be groomed and teeth cleaned and they never cleaned their teeth. I brought them back second time and had them groomed and it was a terrible job grooming (one leg shaved on the inside, heads of the dogs cut too short, ears not cleaned, I had to cut parts of my dogs hair and make the dogs presentable, and they charged me again for the teeth cleaning because THEY lost my records on their computers, and said they couldn't prove I paid for teeth cleaning. REALLY?Third time shame on me, but there we no other groomers I could get an appointment with.This grooming business is booming in the Sun City area, it is tough to find a credible groomer. Once again Adogable said they would clean my two dogs teeth and once again didn't clean their teeth,as they were wrapping up as I arrived, but said my dogs were restless.The level of grooming was better the third time because when I called her about the bad grooming on my second visit the owner told me to ask for specific women who groom and are more experienced.The owner is detached emotionally and hides in back and sends her help out to answer questions. I own my business, I trusted that she would deliver on what is promised. She is good on the phone, but not in the shop. If you clean teeth, don't promise it, a refund should have been offered. I just felt I couldn't get a straight answer, except when it came to paying. The owner should be monitoring the groomers. She seems to NOT be invested in her business,the quality that was promised was not delivered. The help wanted sign in the window should have been a signpost. The inconsistency is scary at Adogable, she never offered refunding my money for the teeth cleaning, her groomer who was very nice said to bring them back some other time, Methinks not. When you just collect a check at your business and don't listen to your customers that will "bite" you, eventually. read more

I took my dog to this horrible, yes, horrible establishment that puts profits above pet safety! This pet salon is geared to quantity NOT quality! I spent 15 minutes explaining to "the front desk" person about my dog's ear infection. After 5 hours and calling about my dog, I finally got in my car and drove to Adogable. There were two young people still working on my dog and exclaimed "do you know your dog has an ear infection????" Really? The woman at the front desk did not even tell the "workers" what I had so explained to her. They said oh she left. I said did she tell you all that I had explained to her? "No" they said. I said "give me my dog now!!" He died having his eyes dug out at the tear ducts because these young people did not know what they were doing. My Vet and regular groomer expressed serious concerns about Adogable. Do Not take your dog there!!! Even after a year since he died, I still am apologizing to him for putting him through such a terrible experience. The woman who owns this place should be ashamed of herself. read more

I took my small Morkie there 3 times. The third time I took her she was terrified. She has been groomed many times and had never acted like that before. I should have trusted her and left right away, but I didn't. A person who worked there took her. I told her that her hair had grown out too much and that I had brushed her that morning and felt that there were no mats in her hair. The worker checked her over thoroughly and said that she couldn't find any mats at all. I opted for the full treatment which costs more because I liked the work they had done in the past and I thought they deserved the extra cost. I was told she would be done in 2 hours. After 3 1/2 hours I called and they said she was done. When I got there they said they were mistaken and that they needed another 15 minutes. I ran an errand and came back in 40 minutes. My dog was on the table half finished. I said I would wait. I tried to pay to get that over with, and the girl told me they were going to charge me extra because she was terribly matted. When I said she was not, they told me to talk to the groomer. My dog was on the table shaking. The groomer was being very rough with her. When I explained that she had been checked for mats, the groomer said that she was covered in mats and she was surprised I didn't know that. I explained that I had brushed her out that morning and the groomer said that I must not know what a mat is and that it was a shame that I did not know how to take care of my own dog. I told her to give me my dog. I took my dog home half groomed and paid over $60 to have my dog treated roughly and to be treated rudely. I gave them one star because I couldn't figure out how to give no stars. They deserve negative stars. I should have trusted my dog and believed that her behavior meant that they had hurt her.
