Only as I get older…read moredo I realize the incredible embarrassment of riches of access I once had to doctors who viewed fixing an injury as only part of the journey, rehab and regaining proper mobility is actually the key to regaining yourself. Sports Medicine Northwest has this philosophy in spades and even reminded me of it. I had resolved I'd always limp after tearing my quad, and my time chasing my kids would be labored and short. I could not be more wrong. I feel grateful to have found this place! And, even more grateful for the progress I have already seen since being in their dedicated care. I felt compelled to leave a review because (1) this team knows how to help you and (2) I noticed a fellow reviewer's comments that upset me as a client of this facility. Not only did I find this other reviewer's experience to be the polar opposite of mine, I fear their review could potentially prevent folks who really need help from getting quality life upgrading help. (Also... contextually... it's worth calling out this other reviewer gave Costco 1 star! COSTCO! So... I mean if you hate deals and hate spending quality time with your kids... then Costco and this place ain't for you)

My most recent visit felt more like a magic trick than anything else. 8 weeks after a motorcycle crash, I was still suffering from ankle pain and limited mobility. I was certain I had a broken bone that wouldn't heal. I went to urgent care, got images, and was told to "give it time." I did, and it wasn't getting any better. So I decided to see Dr. Pond, who felt around in there, and was able to diagnose a minor bone displacement, and adjusted it back in place in 30 seconds. After 8 weeks of pain, I was fixed after a 5 minute process. I'm still in disbelief. If you've got anything going on, go check him out. You might be surprised with what's possible.

Would give more stars if I could. This story starts over 2 years ago when I suffered a herniated…read moredisc that led to severe foot drop, knee pain, and constant back pain. My initial experience with physical therapy left me feeling pretty hopeless that I would ever return to anything close to "normal." Running again--or feeling athletic at all--felt out of reach. When I walked into Tangelo, it was mostly because my back pain flared up after trying to get back into the gym and lose weight after so much inactivity. What stood out immediately was that even with my MRI results in hand, Dr. Mike still took the time to listen. I made it clear my goals were bigger than just pain relief--I wanted to run races again and get back to the level of athleticism I had as a college football player. Instead of a generic, one-size-fits-all plan, I got a thoughtful, progressive approach that actually aligned with those goals. We didn't just treat symptoms--we built strength, stability, and confidence step by step. Working with Lawrence was always impactful, as we focused on movements specific to running and my injury. For the first time since the injury, I felt like I was truly moving forward instead of just managing setbacks. Fast forward to now--I'm running races again and have set both a 10K and half marathon PR. That didn't feel possible not long ago. The entire staff created an environment that made you want to show up--great energy, great music, and always a warm welcome. If you're dealing with pain, setbacks, or feel like your goals are being dismissed, Tangelo is different. They don't just get you out of pain--they help you get back to doing what you actually care about.

I feel like this place is the McDonald's of physical therapy…read more The staff is nice enough and facility is clean, etc. But I feel the service is lacking in quality. You're just kind of rushed through and they go through the motions with you to ensure all their boxes are ticked so it appears like on paper they did their due diligence for your medical needs. My experience was that I was tossed around from therapist to therapist from one appt to the next. I don't know if I even saw the same therapist more than twice during my 12 week session. Every time I went in the therapists were multitasking and it seemed like there was a lot of patient overlap and they were trying to juggle more than one patient at a time. Not the greatest feeling when you're expecting to receive one-on-one attention and a full hour of service. It was definitely not that. Luckily, my insurance covers most of the expenses. I only end up paying a small portion (my co-pay). But when I look at my statement and how much money they charging the insurance company it seems insane. I hardly think what I received in those session is worth $300 a pop. What a racket!! What happened to physical therapy being at the hospitals? When I used to go to Swedish I had much better experience. But now my doctors only refer to this place. The overall experience is generic and I feel like I'm getting the PT equivalent of visiting a chain restaurant like Starbucks or Panera. Also, at the end of all 12 weeks of PT, my pain only mildly improved. Almost not worth bothering. I could have done more in a YouTube video at home.

If people are so inspired to write a review about their doctor/experience on yelp (which doesn't happen a lot, mostly restaurants) it must mean a lot. I'm sooo glad I decided to call Minor and James clinic and made an appt with her. Her clinic is at the FIRST HILL BUILDING on Minor ave and James. Parking is located across the street at the parking garage. Make sure to bring the parking stub with you up so that the receptionist can stamp it. The stamp will ensure you a parking discount. Smooth experience from start to end. No long waits in between. I didn't feel rushed or just another patient. She thoughtfully listened to all my concerns & answered all my questions. She explained everything to me thoroughly and very clearly. She thoroughly examined my walk, leg, etc. and was able to pin point the problem instead of ordering a bunch of x-rays that would cost more money. I left not just very satisfied, but I even asked her to recommend me other doctors since I was so impressed with my experience! (I am currently looking for a family doctor/general physician) Anything sports medicine related, I highly recommend her.

This is my full update review (I have removed my prior). TL;DR at bottom…read more I saw Doctor Chimes around one year ago for intense hip and back pain. Right away, it was clear he cares more about his personal time than his patients. He told me he wanted yes or no answers and not explanations to his questions (and wouldn't really let me explain things in full even when it would clarify things). After my MRI, which showed multiple spinal issues (bulging, herniated, parse defect, which is a fracture) and bursitis in the hip, he gave me a shot for the bursitis that had already begun healing on its own. During this time, I continually try to tell him the pain is not in the location of the bursitis anymore. He continually ignores or even speaks over me. At the end, I am again trying to tell him I feel pain elsewhere in my hip even though there is a little reduction after the shot (but I was numbed, so of course it would hurt less). To test my pain, he had me stand up from my chair...once. Worse, when we were done and I was alone in the room, when I tried to get up to put my pants on, the pain was so intense I collapsed. This pain happened again when I got home and tried to take one step up the stairs. During our last appointment, instead of listening to me, he tells me "Your pain doesn't match the MRI", and that tells me I'm about to be dismissed, but then it got worse. He continues with, "In his professional opinion, you just need internal pelvic floor PT". Why? Because I'm a woman...and he asked me 2 or 3 YES or NO questions around sex and did not let me explain the answers... I told him I didn't think so, but he disagreed. Well, after speaking with a Pelvic Floor specialist, she disagreed with his assessment. So, instead of doing that, I went to Evergreen Sports and Spine and met with a new doctor who actually took my pain seriously. With his help and a new PT, another MRI of my hip WITH contrast (he was surprised that Dr. Chimes didn't order contrast as it's needed for specific tears in the hip), we found that I had a CAM Morphology, that should have been showing up on my other X-rays and MRIs, but apparently weren't spotted and/or reported...and that I had a tear in the Labrum of my right hip. Later, they also found I had a small pincer as well. So, a double impingement. I had to have surgery because the surgeon I spoke with next agreed that the tear was too large to not do surgery if I wanted to not be in pain. No arguing. No trying to talk me out of it. They immediately agreed it was the best course of action. I had surgery April 2nd of 2024 to remove my CAM and the Pincer they found, and then repair the labrum. While I'm still in recovery, my pain is down 80% of the time outside of flareups when I over exercise during my strength training. I would never send a woman to him, as she will be dismissed. I was in so much pain that I was crying after collapsing at the office during my last visit. The only reason I am giving this location a 2-star is because the women at the front were incredibly nice. This review is leaving out a lot of other smaller issues I had during my short time there. Maybe if you're a man, it'll be worth it, but if you're a woman, go elsewhere. I cannot, in good faith, recommend this office or Dr. Chimes. TL;DR, Dr. Chimes ignored what I said and then gave a sexist course of action due to my gender. New doctor 2 months later discovered the issue and that I needed hip surgery to remove two bone defects and a tear in my labrum. I have now had surgery and am doing well in recovery with a large reduction in pain.

Hannah at the front desk knew about my many struggles financially and how I have been treated in Seattle as a Native American Activisf. She knew that I was struggling and that I am struggling financially and then I am poor and unemployed which I indicated numerous times and that I would only be able to do the co-pay. The physical therapist did not respond to me about urgent matters with my knee and feedback that I needed and really didn't answer any of my questions. Today I found out that they wanted me to pay all of my deductible and coinsurance directly to them which is very very strange and odd and disgusting business practice during a pandemic. She knew I had severe pain and that I was on my last leg since surgery is not an option for me and then I have this torn meniscus and really needed urgent help but she was yelling at me about the money and cared way more about the money than she cared about me and that is abjectly disgusting. I sleep well at night knowing that I care more about people than money and that if I were in her position I would always put the patients first. I cannot believe that they were demanding all this money upfront and they refused to work out some thing with me on my coinsurance and deductible. She kept saying I would get a bill. Well I don't care because I can't afford my bills. It was very elitist and disgusting during a pandemic that they were treating me this way. On top of that they refuse to work out any kind of payment arrangement with me knowing that I don't have any money. I refuse to pay what they demanded which was hundreds of dollars which is totally disgusting and unreasonable since I told her I could only pay the $50 co-pay. Meanwhile, when I was upset about what happened, Stephanie, the physical therapist came out and said she didn't like me being upset. Well too bad, when you discriminate against someone and refused to help and treat them then they are going to get upset. When I left and slam the door, I am very proud of that fact.
