I called and was met with the one of the kindest humans I have met on this journey of trying to find care for my elderly parent. Harue spent almost an hour on the phone with me giving me tips on how to find good places for my dad and even went out of her way to set us up with a time to tour another place that had an available spot for my dad. I can tell that Harue genuinely loves what she does and truly cares about people. While I'm sad they don't have any availability at this time, I got off the phone happy to know that there are still people who care about taking care of people. Thank you Harue! It took 2-4 hours for a nurse to arrive after the initial call. No communication was ever provided as to an ETA. We were left just sitting and waiting - even after subsequent calls were made to the main number. Additionally, we had our hand slapped by the social worker assigned to my Mom for 3 calls (within a 5 week period) for a nurse. She told me that we should not have called for a nurse as they weren't medically necessary and were caregiver tasks (I don't know if my Mom was having a stroke or not because I am not a trained medical professional). The nurse even berated my Mom for having called as she felt there was nothing wrong with her! Last time I checked, if my Mom thought she was having a stroke, that would be considered medically necessary. The first thing they told us was to ALWAYS call them first, but then blamed us when we called and they sent a nurse out. Why are we blamed because they don't know how to triage? My Mom was dying from cancer and shouldn't have to decide if how she is feeling is "medically necessary." Overall, this was a bad experience and we ended up changing to Snowline Hospice (which was a 100% improvement). I would NOT recommend this hospice company.

I was contacted immediately once my referral went through, and they were quick to send someone to evaluate me and establish care. But that's where the good service ended. i was told I would be contacted to schedule my next appointment, and no one reached out. When I finally called them, nearly a week later, I was told the therapist they assigned me to was out. Why, then, was I not contacted nor assigned to another therapist? They assigned me to another therapist and scheduled an appointment for 2:00P the following day. At 2:11P, I received a text from the therapist letting me know that they were on the way (well after my appointment time) and would arrive around 3:00P. I declined to proceed with that appointment. After great consideration, I decided to try again. The new therapist they sent was nice enough, but there were issues. They wore a lot of fragrance that lingered in my home well after their departure, which is saying something as my appointments lasted 15-20 minutes, tops. They did not count reps, time warm ups, or check and correct for form at all. I stayed quiet on all of these issues to see if they improved but they did not. I was also not given any "homework" and exercises I should perform on my own in between appointments. Additionally, the company is disorganized and, on my final visit, the therapist arrived and told me I was due for an evaluation, despite having only having 2 prior home visits. They attempted to contact the company while at my home to get more info. No one responded and they prepared to leave until I asked if I could have my PT session since we had scheduled it and they were already there. We did proceed with another short session. The last straw was when yet another person reached out saying that they're my therapist, without explaining that they are the therapist assigned to perform the evaluation. It took several questions for me to figure that out. It was also at this time that I learned that my sessions should have been for 45 minutes. I was quite dismayed to discover that I should have been receiving much longer PT sessions than I was receiving, and I decided that I just didn't want to deal with this agency any longer. The 15 minute sessions don't feel particularly beneficial, and the hassle of dealing with this company is not worth what I get out of it. Again, I'm quite reticent to leave negative reviews. However, this is an agency that services people who are recovering from surgery and major medical events, and people should know what they may be getting in to. This was my personal experience, and based on other reviews it seems like some other people have certainly had positive outcomes. This was just not the case for me. Everyone was very nice and polite, and I have no complaints in that area. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to overcome the other issues and make me want to continue working with them.

He was very comfortable there and the nurses, especially Maria, took care of him like he was family. He always told me how good the food was and he was always happy when I stopped by to visit. I was able to communicate directly with Lina the administrator as well as Maria one of the nurses through text messages which was very convenient. They were always very good at getting back to me. When his health began to decline in the end, they were all so helpful. I am so grateful for all the the staff here.

Maria and Emma are angels, between them and their staff, they took the best care of mom during her stay. After my sister complaining about things my mother was doing while living with her I decided to look for a little apartment for her to live on her own. After spend a few days with my mother it was clear that there was no way that she could live on her own ever again. This was right in the heart of Covid so I had to scramble to find a memory care facility that I could place her in as I live in Oregon and she wasn't willing to move from Sacramento. A friend told me about Eastern Manor as her friends mother had lived there in the past. They accepted my mother and after her living there for two years I would come visit her every month and take her out for a drive and spread her wings. Her room was always clean and tidy as was the whole facility. The staff was always friendly and caring. Never ever had one problem during her two year stay. It's a wonderful environment and the grounds are so beautiful and tropical. I could only hope for such care if I ever get in a situation that I need that level of care. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.

My mother recently passed away, having been a resident for the past 3 years at Pine Tree Villa…read more After a terrible experience of several months at a different, more expensive, nearby private facility, I knew the first time I entered Pine Tree Villa this was where I hoped my mother would live. Even though modest and not recently remodeled it is clean and comfortable and depending on the time of day, smells like something delicious is being prepared in the kitchen. She received the best care I could ever have hoped for. The staff were caring and respectful with all the residents, responding quickly to their needs and just 'being there' when required. They routinely performed welfare checks throughout the day and night. Some of the staff shared meal preparation duties, creating nutritious, tasty meals 3 times a day with snacks between if requested, as well as honoring individual requests (my Mom liked Ensure in her coffee and oatmeal). Lynn, the owner, and her staff are in constant contact with one another and with patient's family (if needed). Because of that, Lynn was able to alert me to specific changes in my mother's demeanor which allowed me to be present when she breathed her last breath. Lynn was always available by phone, if not personally, and is an exceptionally kind, competent and responsive individual. I had peace of mind knowing my mother was being cared for in this well managed, well organized, comfortable facility with exceptional staff where I felt welcomed as part of a family. I often told Lynn that if the time ever came and I should need to live in an assisted living facility, that is where I would want to be. I am forever grateful my mother received such loving care.

Having volunteered at a lot of care homes (therapy dog visits) Pine Tree Villa is clearly number one on the list for me. Caregivers who worked there 15+ years ago still work there and that alone is telling a lot. My recommendation is to not look at how fancy a care home is but look at the care itself. That's what truly matters. My other recommendation is to get on the waiting list when you feel it could be close. Don't wait until a major fall or other emergency happens. You can always say no if you feel it's not quite time yet but, as the scouts say, be prepared. I am glad we were. Check them out, go there, then if still in doubt maybe ask if you could talk to a close relative of another resident. Many like me are gladly willing to talk about their experiences. To me Pine Tree Villa is like extended family.

During the tours, they were my advocate, asking smart questions and also understanding (sometimes immediately) when a home would not be a good fit for my loved one. Throughout this long process, they never rushed me. They had my loved one's best interest in mind the whole time, and offered to continue arranging tours until we found the right place. Their help doesn't end with a placement. Sierra has called me multiple times to check in and get updates. When we hit an unexpected bump in my loved one's care, Sierra and Rebecca were the first people I called to get advice and help.
