They wouldn't give him anything for pain except Tylenol! I spoke to a doctor at the nurses station and he ordered some other pain med, but my husband never received it. The only time he saw a doctor was right after he was admitted. One PT person was extremely rude and kept forcing him to do PT. After he got out, we saw an orthopedic doctor and they said his hip was disintegrating! His leg popped like popcorn in a microwave with any movement. This is extremely painful. They should have done X-rays at the least And they would have seen the problem. His problem was so severe that he was referred to UCDavis. He is now scheduled for a hip rebuild on October 6th. This poor man has suffered for almost 10 months!

The staff has been incredibly warm, kind, patient, and hardworking, and it gives our family tremendous peace of mind knowing he is in good hands. Billy, Marsha, and Cassie have been especially wonderful about keeping us but the entire care team deserves recognition. They genuinely take the time to get to know the residents and make them feel comfortable and welcome. They even know my dad's favorite breakfast--two eggs over easy, hash browns, bacon or sausage, toast, and fruit! They make it for him every morning. And they have been so warm and welcoming to my dad's dog when she visits. They have a great outside courtyard where dad and his dog Coalee can play and enjoy the comforts of home. I am currently hoping to get my mom in here in a long-term position because I feel that a senior living facility just doesn't suit her health issues and needs that she needs anymore. My mom said that the food is great and that she could actually tell what she is eating LOL and if you've been at somebody's places you would totally understand but she's talking about! Registration was easy and all information was provided regarding the process. A number is assigned to each patient to track their status. Once it was time to get ready the staff bring you into prepare for the surgery. The family member is then brought back to meet with the patient and the doctor and surgery team to ask any questions. While the surgery is happening the patient's contact person can track the status. Once the surgery is over the doctor contacts them to let them know how the surgery went and pick up any medication at the onsite pharmacy. They are then brought in to the recovery room to receive further instructions and take the patient home. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions and the surgeons were very professional and knowledgeable.

At first, my dad was reluctant towards physical therapy but after the first session he saw the value as Jennifer explained to my dad why each of the exercises was so important and had great analogies to keep him motivated. Manzanita Healthcare Center bills itself as a rehabilitation facility for seniors; my spouse spent…read morefive days and nights there before checking out early. Staffing appears to be understaffed, with some dedicated caregivers and some who seem to be there to act as prison wardens, or sanitation workers who regret their status in life. Case managers are clipped, and not easy to communicate with, and my spouse was seldom ever offered insights by real nursing staff. She was quickly fitted with a catheter, apparently to save staff from having to help her to the bathroom and back. Physical therapy was hit or miss; in the first two days she was eligible, and was skipped by the staff. One of the physical therapists was probably 100 pounds overweight; and the physical therapy she did receive was minimal at best. The physical therapy department is not open on the weekends, so Saturday or Sunday PT is not a possibility. Food was passable to worse. My spouse was in a shared room with another client, a woman who loved to have her TV on late into the night with the sound at 100 DB - never did Staff come by to suggest the sound be turned down - giving my spouse earplugs which were little help. And result of the substandard nursing environment was that we checked out early, to the chagrin of several on the staff, who said "we were leaving against medical advice". We were pledged a referral for home-based nursing, but it took several phone calls and several days for Staff to file that paperwork. Overall grade, D. We would not recommend this place.

The OT, the PT, the wound care nurse and RN, even the phlebotomist, exceptional really. I credit them with my husband's recovery, from more than one incident.
