Everyone in the office is great, starting from the office manager, to the hygienist, the assistant and of course the dentist. The office manager did a great job of communicating and explaining the work that needed to be done and how it translates with my dental benefits. They gave me recommendations and different options and were not pushy with what I should have done, which I appreciate. They ended up doing a procedure that I ultimately chose to have done. The dentist is good at what he does and he made sure I was comfortable every time I came in. As far as the other review, I had some procedures done myself and I did not feel up-sold. They gave me different options with recommendations, and they did what I ultimately chose. From my experience, these guys show that they know and value the importance of customer happiness and loyalty, so if the other review is accurate, they certainly learned from it and are much better now. I trust them and I recommend them.

If you love your children, do NOT take them here…read more Our recent visit to this clinic was not only a complete waste of time, it was a deeply upsetting and harmful experience for our daughter, who is autistic and has developmental delays. We came here specifically because they advertise themselves as a children's dental clinic with the supposed expertise to handle children with special needs. That could not be further from the truth. After making us wait over 30 minutes past our scheduled appointment, we were met with a dentist whose bedside manner can only be described as cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. Instead of listening to our concerns, the dentist immediately scolded my wife, claiming she wasn't brushing our daughter's teeth well enough. Our daughter--who was clearly anxious and verbalized "I'm scared" multiple times--was completely ignored. Not once did the dentist look her in the eye or attempt to offer even the most basic reassurance. That alone should be disqualifying for someone working in pediatric care. The actual "exam" consisted of a quick glance with a mirror, followed by, and I quote, "you must make appointment to come back it will be a very long time." No cleaning. No proper consult. No effort to understand our daughter's unique needs. Just a lecture about how we should be holding her down and forcing her to brush her teeth twice a day. If you know anything about autism and sensory processing disorder, you know how reckless and damaging that advice is. We raised a specific concern about an adult tooth coming in before a baby tooth had fallen out--an issue that has led to braces for all of our other children. The dentist brushed it off with a dismissive, "is not a problem," offering no explanation or follow-up plan. We left with nothing. No answers, no care, no respect. Just a traumatized child and a deep sense of regret for ever stepping foot in this place. This clinic does not understand or respect neurodiverse children. They do not listen to parents. They offer no meaningful care. And worst of all, they do real emotional harm. They should be shut down. I'll be watching closely for the inevitable copy-paste canned response that this office posts under every negative review--of which there are many. That alone speaks volumes.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new dentist! I read a LOT of reviews and did…read moreresearch to find Heart of the City. I even changed my insurance to be able to check this place out! I absolutely was not disappointed. Plenty of parking available in the shared lot with other businesses in the building. The office is very inviting, clean, and organized. The staff has been top notch throughout all of my communication and visits so far. Major shout out to Jenna, who went out of her way to welcome me, learn about my needs/anxieties, and make sure that I felt at home and safe. She even offered local recommendations since I'm newer to the area. My favorite part of the visit was that they offered a menu of items to make me feel more comfortable in the chair! I chose a stress ball for this visit, but might choose additional items on future cleanings! Why not make it feel like a spa visit? HUGE shout-out to my hygienist, Eriel!! She was probably one of the best hygienists I've ever had. She was non-judgemental, sweet, kind, explanatory, and made sure I was doing well and comfortable throughout the visit. We had great conversation, and I felt like she had genuine interest in making sure I was in a good spot. I'd highly recommend her! Dr. Heidi Smith, was also very friendly and helpful during my exam! Lastly, I think they did an amazing job of being upfront and honest about cost throughout my visit. Anything not covered by insurance was very clearly articulated and I felt like I had full control of whether or not I said yes or no to the options. This is huge, because no one likes to be surprised with a massive bill at the end of your routine service. I can't wait to keep coming back to Heart of the City!

I really appreciate being able to go to a place where you don't get shamed for any dental issues too. They've always approached things from offering advice to improve, which hasn't been my experience at other places I've been. If you've ever heard "It looks like you haven't been flossing lately, hmm?" or something similar, you know what I mean. Special shout out to the hygienist Dani who was really easy to talk to and gave me some really good insights about what sort of ways I could prevent some issues beyond just brushing/flossing that was knowledgeable and relevant (look into a waterpik to help my gums, but mouth wash wasn't really needed since I had good enamel from brushing alone already). Definitely recommend this place.

As someone who has historically had negative experiences with dental professionals it has been empowering to find a group of professionals that are willing to treat me with a frank, detailed and respectful attitude that is completely absent of any disapproving glances or shame filled sighs. This is a team that is focused on doing whatever it takes to ensure you are in the best dental health possible. They are committed to giving you a complete and thorough explanations. All of this while making sure that you are the one in the drivers seat making educated decisions on the future of your dental health. Yes, as previously mentioned in other reviews, they require up front payment for your appointments and procedures. However, if you're like me and you're looking for any way to reduce the stress and anxiety that surrounds dental care then, consider that not having an out standing bill or payment plan does exactly that. I don't write reviews however, I hope that this will help another person rise above their anxiety to get the care they need at a practice that will not only work with them but, understand them.

Unfortunately, the product did not meet the expectations set at the time of sale. The mouthpiece was stored in a protective case that shattered after a minor fall from its enclosure--an outcome that seems inconsistent with the quality and durability I anticipated. Given the product's failure to perform as described, I am requesting that the full purchase price be refunded to me, either by check or as a credit to my credit card. I trust this matter can be resolved promptly and amicably. However, to avoid the need for further action, I ask that you process this refund at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your timely response.
