The park itself is great, with the scenic Brown Hill Creek running in between two fairly impressive playgrounds. There are ducks, a wooden bridge, enormous trees and stunning greenery. It really is as pretty as a picture. Although the children love it, the park is also a popular refuge among adults for Summer barbeques, walks with the dog and fitness groups. It is clearly a popular playground, and rightfully so. However as a local I regularly pass by, and admittedly, I have had a bad experience. In fact I was followed by a man lurking in the playground... I know, I know, alarm bells are ringing. In all my years this is the only negative experience I have encountered and I honestly believe it could happen anywhere. I think it is just a reminder that no matter where you may be, parents need to keep a firm eye on their children. Not to end on a sour note, I still think that with parental guidance the playground is safe and deserves a five star rating. My sister often takes her children to this playground and it is always an enjoyable experience, even if the kids never want to go home. Please note, this playground is also known as Mitcham Reserve.

Located at the fringe of Adelaide's beautiful foothills sits this old heritage Institute building which has been transformed into a venue for hire. It is comprised of three sections which are the main hall, an East Wing and a Meeting Room and caters for meetings, birthday parties, quiz nights and the like. They also have arts and crafts tutition classes where anyone can book to learn various skills and is a great way of meeting others with similar interests. The main hall contains the Coordinators office who is more than happy to take you on a tour of the facilities and answering any questions you may have about the centre and your requirements. There is an open space which has art and craft displays and exhibitions, adding interest and colour to the new foyer. Mitcham Cultural Villages hosts a art and craft market biannually and is a great place to go and buy original handmade items as gifts.

Brown Hill Park is a nice and varied park on the cusp of rich suburbia…read more It's a good compromise between a city park and conservation park I'd say. Probably because it's located on a hill. There's plenty of nature kicking around in the park and plenty of tracks and things to investigate to occupy yourself. I drive up to the lookout when I'm in the area to eat lunch watching the western side of the city from above. A great place to take in a marvellous Adelaide sunset as well. I remember once we came up here when there was a fire on an adjacent hill and we watched water bombers attack and douse the flames. People were cheering and clapping along as it battled the blaze. Very exhilarating.
