Today, I was miserable with a lingering bad cold for well over a week and decided to go see my…read morefamily doctor. Even though his practice was super busy and I didn't have an appointment, he chose to treat me. What a great doctor, so I decided to update my original review from years ago and give well deserved credit as follows Twelve years ago, I found myself facing a daunting challenge: my longtime family doctor retired, leaving me in search of a physician who could match the level of care and attention I was accustomed to. After seeking recommendations from family, friends, and neighbors, one name stood out - Dr. Felix Guzman MD, a specialist in internal medicine, located at 12600 SW 120th St #105, Miami, FL 33186. From the moment I stepped into Dr. Guzman's office, I was greeted with unparalleled professionalism, knowledge, courtesy, respect, and, most importantly, compassion. Dr. Guzman, alongside his dedicated team including his daughter Stephanie, a medical nurse practitioner, and Mari, exhibited a sincere and genuine desire to help patients, making me feel like my prayers had been answered. What sets Dr. Guzman apart is his extraordinary personal attention. He treats me as more than just a patient; he sees me as a person with genuine concerns and emotions. His staff goes above and beyond, ensuring that every patient feels valued and heard. I trust Dr. Guzman implicitly, sharing personal details with him that I wouldn't divulge to anyone else. Remarkably, even after his regular hours, he remains accessible, promptly returning my calls and demonstrating genuine concern for my well-being. Dr. Guzman's practice is not only medically exceptional but also incredibly friendly. The facility is always spotless, and the operations are carried out with the utmost professionalism. Appointments run seamlessly, ensuring minimal waiting time. The only drawback, which is a minor inconvenience, is the lack of cellular data service within the building, and unfortunately, they don't offer Wi-Fi. In summary, Dr. Felix Guzman MD and his team have provided me with a level of care that is nothing short of exceptional. Their unwavering dedication, compassion, and professionalism make them an invaluable asset to the healthcare community. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Guzman's practice to anyone seeking personalized, high-quality medical care.

This review is directed to the office management staff…read more The doctor, his nurse practitioner, and medical staff are fantastic, but the administration office had never addressed my concerns in a timely manner. I write this review to warn those who may value the after-care process after having surgery and giving this review one star so it gets the eyes it deserves in hopes that it may change things. Regarding my experience, I had two requests that took weeks to get resolved. The first instance was a couple of weeks after my surgery when I was experiencing some stiffness. I made a quick call to settle my worries, but no one answered the phone. I called again the next day to the same result (the voicemail system was down so I was unable to leave a message). It took 6 work days and calling multiple times for the last two days to get an answer -- all the while my stiffening was not improving. I was put in for an appointment the following week and everything was sorted out then. Total time: 13 work days (17 actual days). My second experience was getting a prescription for my x-rays as my final follow-up (I had to the x-rays from a different state due to work). I called 5 work days before my scheduled appointment to notify the staff I will not be there in person and would like a prescription sent for me. The voicemail system was up by this time, so I was allowed the option to leave a message, which I did. The office did call me the next day, but I couldn't answer because of work. I called again that day when I was available but to no answer. I left another message. The phone-tag continued for 3 more work days. The messages the office had sent me did not address the two main points I asked: 1) send me my x-ray prescription, and 2) tell me a time that someone in the office will be available during working hours and I will make sure to call then, as we seem to be missing each other. It took 5 more additional work days to get the prescription sent to me. By that time, I was already a week over my scheduled follow-up date. I got the x-rays done and the next day was signed off with no further issues. Total time: 11 work days (15 actual days). I'm writing as unemotionally and factual I can because I believe after-care is important to everyone. I know there are some who may not be allowed the luxuries I had: I'm young and can find time during work to make needed phone calls. Also, I was fortunate enough to not have any major issues result from my surgery. However, I know that isn't the case for everyone, and I would hate that someone would have to wait actual weeks before their issues can be sorted. Again, the actual medical staff (i.e. doctor and nurses) are great; the office staff is not. The distinction should be made there. I would highly recommend Thomas Temple as your surgeon; but also, I will highly recommend you take the business cards of everyone in that office so that you have a back-up number to call should any serious issues arise.

The doctor kept us waiting for 45 minutes and then entered the room to request the reason for my mom's visit (one would think he knew this answer already). He was told it was to review my mother's medications to determine what she should no longer need to take. He then threw out a few bottles. I was there to ask questions as to my mother's state of health since I was visiting. He asked where I was from, I said I was visiting from LA. Big mistake- started talking politics which is beyond unprofessional and truly uncalled for. He spent maybe 10 minutes with my mother, did not provide any physical exam, handed her husband a script written with a request for in-home care and then we were told the appointment was over and that she was scheduled to return in a month. Who writes a referral on a prescription pad? This confused her husband. To top it off, the referral was never handled. We were called to set up the referral on 11/13. My mother's appointment with the doctor was 10/24. My mother ended up in the hospital on 10/26 due to an infection she got from a wound on her leg. Had she been examined, we might have caught it sooner. I don't recommend this doctor. I live in a big city, his attitude matches it. No empathy. I am adding one star, because he was a referral from her pastor who is a kind man.
