Addy catered our large wedding on Memorial Day weekend. She was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our planning and the food was amazing. So, so much better than the classic "wedding buffet" we were choosing between. A few weeks later we are still hearing from guests telling us how much they loved the paella. The quesadilla apps were also a hit. People loved watching the paella cooking during cocktail hour. Addy and her team were completely self contained at our rural location which made logistics on our end essentially nonexistent- a welcome change in wedding planning. She never batted an eye as guest counts increased, menu adjustments were needed for allergies, etc. She was also willing to travel a couple hours to us. Chanced upon Addy's Paella driving down Sunrise Blvd by the mall. "Whoa! Do a U-turn!" I yelled. Could those be a bevy of food trucks in my 'hood? Yes indeedly doodly. Located in the Birdcage parking lot (in front of Lowe's), there were a handful of trucks including Chando's Tacos, Drewski's, Krush Burger, Red Rooster Waffles, Gypsy Mobile Boutique, and a smoothie truck. I'm now following SactoMoFo on Twitter (@SactoMoFo) so I'll be in the know the next time they come out. Although Addy's does not have a truck, they had a booth and once I wolfed down the sample handed to me - I was sold! Moist, delicious and more-ish! We had Addy's Paella cater our Welcome Dinner for our wedding guests who were arriving in town on Friday night. They absolutely blew everyone away! They brought their pans and started to cook as the group gathered for drinks. The delicious aroma of garlic and onions filled the air and had everyone salivating for dinner. We began planning the wedding over a year ago, and Addy was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She arranged for a tasting prior to signing the contract, and once we tasted her amazing paella we were hooked! Addy was incredibly responsive to my endless emails, and never made me feel like I was bothering her or asking silly questions. We had a large guest count (225) and she was so helpful in terms of deciding about appetizers and figuring out our rentals. She thought of every little detail, and gave me good advice about things I hadn't even thought of! Just the web photos of the giant paella pan full of goodness will draw you to wherever they are located. As was the case at SactoMoFo 4, but alas, by the time i got there they were sold out. So i jumped at the chance when they were to be at the local West Sacramento Farmers Market, and they were indeed worth the trip and the wait. The paella is just great, just a good to smell and eat as it looks online. I not only went back for seconds, I also got some more later to go for lunch the next day. Its sort of a saffron infused non spicy spanish version of jambalaya, or vice versa. It had chunks of shrimp, sausage, and chicken in it and a garlic aioli sauce on top. Beyond 5 stars!! My husband and I met in Spain and really wanted to incorporate that into our wedding day, so what better way to do that than through the food? Paella was the natural choice - it's simple, delicious, and the presentation can't be beat - those huge paella pans! At first I wasn't sure how it was going to work because our venue did not allow indoor cooking and didn't make it easy for us to put everything together, but working with Addy really boosted our confidence in our ability to make it happy. She was able to cook outside and we brought a cart for her to wheel everything into the venue. It was absolutely perfect! Addy was one of my most helpful wedding vendors . She worked with us from the beginning of the planning process to help us figure out logistics and details that we never would have considered on our own. From the tasting to the wedding, she was so accommodating and had simple solutions for all of the little problems that would arise. Her staff that she brought along was also amazing, they kept bellies full and the venue looking clean all night! My brother and I were overwhelmed by the amount of food trucks to try so we followed our noses and they brought us to Addy's! Had some paella form here on Saturday at a Sacramento Food truck festival. The reason I am giving it such low rating is the rice was completely undercooked. We bought two portions and the rice was hard/inedible when we tried it. I was so disappointed. But we had stood in a long line and paid good money for the food. So I took it home. The next day, I added some water and popped it in the microwave. Still not fully cooked but much better. The flavors were very good, but I was just so disappointed that a place would serve undercooked rice at an event like this. Maybe they weren't prepared to deal with the large crowd. The flavor was good, but the rice wasn't cooked all the way. It was still crunchy. This was just awesome. We had a gathering at our home a couple of days ago, and had ordered paella with salad and bread for 35 people. It was raining outside, so Clinton set up in our garage and everything worked out great. The paella was awesome, everyone loved it! The salad and bread were great, too. It was fascinating to watch Clinton prepare the paella, and he had a good sized group watching him do his thing. He had everything done right on time, and there was plenty. When he was done, he cleaned up quickly and when he left, you would have never known he was there, except for the fabulous leftover aroma of the paella. We hired Addy for our wedding of 100 guests at Union Hill Inn and she was a HIT! Everyone is still raving about the paella and appetizers they served! Addy's Paella is absolutely fantastic. I was lucky enough to try their paella at the Sacto MoFo 4, which prompted me to get them to cater my rehearsals dinner. There were no headaches in arranging everything, and they showed up the day of the event and hour early and got to cooking. The food was ready exactly when they said it was, and it provided a nice show for the guests at the same time. Addy and her crew were very friendly and more than happy to chat with the guests while cooking. We ordered 1/2 pan of seafood paella with additional scallops thrown in, and then a full pan of the traditional. There was an amazing amount of food, but very little leftovers... Most people went for seconds and some even went for thirds. They were providing dinner sized plate portions, too! The paella was just so good that people were stuffing themselves. Oh, and one of the best parts about this is the cost. We were going to spend roughly the same amount for other types of catering (so-so Indian or Thai food). This was my second Sactomofo, to try their famous paella. I was actually disappointed by it, which saddened me because it also happened last year too..their rice was very undercooked. It kind of ruined the dish for me especially given that the dish itself was like $8. The aloli though was pretty good and complimented the paella very well. I ended up taking the dish home and having to recook it in attempts to soften the rice, tasted a lot better after doing that. read more

My first Paella EVER. This isn't a food truck but a booth at SactoMoFo events. Sometimes there is a line but not often is there a long line like there is for the food trucks. They are missing out which means less of a wait for me and possibly seconds! The price is not bad, considering it is just the right amount of food to fill me up. Chicken is moist, shrimp is perfectly cooked, sausage has a nice flavor. The rice is probably the only rice I've had besides rice I buy from asian supermarkets that I like. The only thing I didn't like was some of other rice was a bit under cooked. I wish they had a truck and would go around the Sacramento area like Drewski's, would definitely follow them for their food. read more

This is how easy and wonderful it is to communicate and plan your wedding dinner with Addy's: my husband did it all and I didn't have to do a thing. When my hubby and I discussed our vision of our wedding day, his one request was that he wanted a "food experience." He is a huge "foodie" and loves everything related to food experiences so of course when he said he wanted more than the buffet or choice of chicken/steak or fish, I told him to go for it. He came with me to a big bridal expo in Sacramento, CA and that is where we found Addy's. At first my groom was excited to learn that Addy (the owner) will come to your venue and cook the paella right there during your wedding in front of your guests, that is an experience in itself. At the expo we tasted their House Paella with chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage and topped with a garlic aioli sauce and we were sold, the paella is that delicious. Addy and Jen were a delight to work with and I only got involved to give the timeline events because what groom really knows that? The day of the wedding, they arrived on time, worked with our other vendors professionally and the dinner was ready precisely on time. I loved that if all the paella wasn't gone (and it wasn't, they made enough to go around and a lot of guests had seconds) our guests were able to box up some paella to take home. Every guest loved the dinner; we received numerous compliments that the dinner was delicious and the experience was the best by far and not your typical wedding dinner. I loved Addy's Paella and will always recommend them with high confidence. Food truck in their future? Or a restaurant? I sure hope so, Addy's is that delicious and I have craved them since! Addy was so helpful during the entire planning process always getting back to me quickly and assuring me all was going to be okay when my stress levels peaked.
