Several staff members behaved in ways that made me uncomfortable and undermined my trust in the institution as a whole. One teacher, Lisa McGuire, often acted in ways I personally found inappropriate and unprofessional, particularly in her interactions with parents during school events. While I cannot verify rumors that circulated among students, her conduct left a lasting negative impression on me and made it difficult to respect her role as an educator. Overall, she felt more like a caretaker than a teacher focused on meaningful education. The school librarian also presented herself as an authority figure while contributing very little beyond basic job duties. Her attitude toward students felt dismissive and hypocritical, and this extended to how her family member was treated within the school environment. This created an atmosphere of favoritism rather than fairness. Ms. Mexicano frequently reported students and portrayed herself as a victim when her own mistakes were addressed. This pattern discouraged open communication and accountability, and it contributed to a culture where students felt targeted rather than supported. Additionally, a visiting police officer addressed students in a manner that felt more intimidating than educational. Emphasizing weapons and authority over dialogue or understanding did not inspire trust or respect. The situation escalated to the point where I was detained based on accusations that were ultimately unsupported, which deeply affected my view of how students are treated. Overall, this school failed to provide the guidance, inspiration, and responsible adult leadership that students deserve. Rather than fostering growth and safety, the environment often felt reactive, dismissive, and poorly managed. This experience was disappointing and, in my opinion, reflects a broader issue of inadequate oversight within the institution.

In my 3rd grade year, the new principal, Ms. Gio, showed clear racial bias--favoring Hispanic students while segregating others. She made a mockery of the students who couldn't speak her language--Spanish. While some teachers genuinely helped students grow their reading or voca skills, others were hypocrites and weren't helpful when it came to learning, the staff focused more discipline actions Ms. Heidi was by far the most hypocritical employee of them all. She mocked students for there struggles or call them out rudely when they didnt speak English or didn't do the classwork as instructed, even when they were trying there hardest to speak english she still provoked them, and played the victim by this her actions show negative environment she setting towards the young, hope Ms. Heidi rotting in a hole. I was physically assaulted by the music teacher after a misunderstanding. I was exiting through the north gate with my siblings when he rudely confronted and shoved us, saying that gate was for emergencies only. He and Ms.Gio used the situation to extend my suspension. The north gate, by the way, was normally used by the parents of the students who'd pick them up. From that point on, the harassment followed me into 4th grade. I became a constant target. Simple actions, like keeping my hands in my pockets, were twisted into accusations of hiding weapons, Ms. Barrera tried to accuse me for that kind of behavior glad i proved her stupid ass wrong. Also i dont regret what i said about the Addison Hispanic community at all either, y'all are filthy body, mind and soul. Back to the story Ms. Gio punished entire classes just to isolate me or anyone else who would disrupt the class, turning my peers against each being deceptive. We all get into conflict verbally or physically and we wouldn't fight back just because of the thought they put in us raising a criminal record. By 5th Ms.McGuire was the worse, at first she had her students back but betrayed them all over a disputed in class then she mocked them saying that she would allow conflict be resolved or continue in class without any conclusion, and let them get away with it . The principal didn't protect the class --she threatened to call the cops instead to use the situation as leverage against anyone who dares to misbehave but we all were innocent. She really tried to scare me with Officer Brukol-- i tried to tell them this was all a misunderstanding and conflicts but Officer Brukol is just another joke to our police department we fund unfortunately he also threaten us with legal action when we the students did nothing to gain this much of pressure. The harassment spread to our families that kept coming into the school. The principal checked their belongings, threatened drug tests, and treated them like suspects. But by the end, we filed a report at district 4 and got a detective involved. After years of harassment my middle school shut down the principal Mr. Gio by advising her to stay away from me and my family. They mentioned she needed to work on improving the school behavior since they lacked focus on behavioral support. Glad she was embarrassed by her work most kids who went to middle school got even worse and violent i hope they descended from the planet they were just become some awful people in reality. I am relieved the music teacher resigned a year later, that man finally grew up! From harassing me and touching me was I remember at this school. Ms. Gio is no longer there go finally! She can rot in a hole all i care. That school needed change. So Miss Kelly--don't repeat that bullshit. Help the kids with any struggle, don't let it happen ever again. I've made peace with the fact that it's behind me now.

I do have to say that the academic plan has taken a turn for the better. Offering a variety of programs to the children that are in the District 4 area. My children always come home and report how their day went and I would always hear unacceptable statements and responses from multiple staff members including substitute teachers. The principle Carrie Stange has a very rude, nonchalant attitude when it comes to my children (African American) Example: my daughter comes home and tells me she had a sub for her class today and that the sub told the kids in the classroom that (quote) " that's why Donald Trump doesn't like black people" so I call Fullerton to discuss the matter with the principle and she stated " the sub wasn't speaking about Black people that in fact she was speaking about Mexicans and that she is also a mexican" bottom line Dr. Stange is a principle whom is supposed to uphold her position with enough respect to not allow any form of discrimination within her school. I must say I am one happy parent that she has been back demoted to the director of education. I don't believe she deserves any higher authority than such, and with the nonchalant attitude I wish her the best of luck on her not so new journey maybe she will get it right this next go round. Good riddance!

I went to this middle school for a total of 3 years. I absolutely hated EVERY SECOND of it... Let…read moreme start with the atmosphere of the school... DEAD. Almost all the teachers either seem so out of it they'd rather be in an actual prison, or so deeply depressed in their own lives to actually teach to their struggling students. Seriously, my old Italian teacher would literally tell my friend about her dying marriage in the middle of class. There is a large sum of teachers here who, for lack of a better term, seriously give no fucks. Their teachings methods are LAUGHABLE at best and they do literally nothing aside from patronize students and make it seem like it's entirely their fault. They treat the children here like literal inmates! Kids I know now, call the school Indian Jail, because of how POORLY we were treated. Bullying is handled SO POORLY, and that's coming from someone who was BEAT UP in this school!! And I was being watched by a gym teacher (who I can't name for legal reasons unfortunately. But I'll tell you this, she's obese and has metal in her knees) . This woman watched as I was beaten up, thrown around, kicked, yelled at and tossed onto the floor for literal months straight. At one point, I was gutted so hard my knee kicked up the sink and it SLAMMED back down on the pipe making a loud noise that echoed through the locker room. And all this woman did was scold me for being loud and not telling her what happened. I have no sympathy for her. I was literally suicidal over it and told school officials who did absolutely nothing about it. Now let's talk about the jokes that have running the Dean's office. First off, they go through Deans quicker than chain smokers finishing off cigarette packs. And the people they pick to be Deans, always have this tendency to be insanely horrible. One of the Deans (who I again can't mention) brought out a MEGAPHONE during our lunch period to dismiss us to eat... A MEGAPHONE! What are you a warden commanding your inmates? Seriously, half the time I was here it was plainly obvious that all the adults working here were just sad and trying to fulfill the fantasy of being some sort of supreme authority figure. Like, pal this is a middle school... not a correctional facility!?! Another thing that completely unnerved me when I attended, was the fact that (at least when I went) the entire school was like a time capsule back to 1975. The locker rooms were in such depraved condition that the paint from the lockers was peeling off and piled on the floor. Kids would scrape graffiti onto doors because the paint was so easy to chip off. There were water stains on more than half of the ceiling tiles. Lights would flicker and buzz, there were rumored to be rats in the basement, walls and doors had wood that was SO OLD it would give you splinters, and there was GRIME and MOLD littered across the locker room. Even though no one used the showers? How does that even happen? Pipes and electrical wires would break almost weekly. One time, a pipe burst in the commons during school... and the principal made us stay and EAT WHILE IT WAS BEING FIXED. Forget that your students could get sprayed with water or have a ceiling tile hit them. No, no, no... let's keep them at school instead of dismissing them for a pipe bursting! The food at the school is downright horrendous... I knew kids who got food poisoning from it. I knew kids who got their lunch taken from them constantly. Some kids would even STARVE because the "lunch monitors" would hold them back from getting their food because some kids were "too loud". Awesome, let's starve these growing kids and punish them for talking during their break period... really? What kind of behavior does this aim to fix or teach? Not to mention that the tables and floors were rarely cleaned well. So all the tables and seats would be sticky to the touch. I will say this one positive thing about the school... there are good teachers within it's hellish walls. But don't get me wrong here... there are TERRIBLE ones!!! I will name the good teachers I had at this school because they deserve praise: Ms. Luzietti, Mr. Parker, Mrs. Fornek and Mr. Biba. Those are the only fun and good teachers that I can remember at this school. And they didn't do the following: punish their students for having needs or questions, shame their students, or talk about their very personal issues with their students. And I can say this, I actually learned and had good memories in their classrooms. Mr. Parker actually taught me math, Ms. Luzietti actually taught me language arts, Mrs. Fornek made history fun, and Mr. Biba is just awesome no questions lol. But the rest of them are subpar are WORSE. Overall, if you live in the Addison area... please send your kids to a different middle school... Go to Woodale or Peacock. Because if this place left me with literal trauma and PTSD (I honestly wish I was joking but I'm not) your kid won't survive... trust me. Thanks for reading my essay

This school is bad, I've been here for 2 years and this is from a students perspective, it's…read morehorrible, if there's bullying they do nothing, the most they do is write and apology, but that barely happens, the new deans are a joke, One dean screams on a microphone at lunch telling us to be quiet, and one is completely stupid, I got in trouble, and the dean started bringing his political views into the discussion, im in the 7th grade you don't bring up your political views to a 12 year old, the school is utter stupid 81% of the school is failing math In 2012, a girl tied herself up in the bathroom and pretended to be raped and the school was on lock down for 3 hours I can't find the specific year but, a former PTA member stole 9,700 dollars from the school And there are many reviews from former teachers and parents who say the kids are treated unfairly. Most of the teachers are fine ( some are horrible but that's besides the point) it's the deans that are an utter joke They suck at there job, once you have a record of trouble at the school, they don't ask questions they get you in trouble immediately. They say they check the cameras but they don't. Last year someone used my ID number to buy themselves lunch ( I don't tell anyone my ID number btw) me and my friend went to the main office to complain and they said oh we'll check the cameras, but it's like a credit card you still have to pay it, and my friend said she knew the first like 3 digits but not the number, and the person in the main office tried arguing with me saying I'm telling people my ID, and i never paid it because I never buy school lunch On to school lunch It's horrible, it's disgusting, and i know people who it's made sick, but some kids have no choice to eat it. I once had a lunch detention and in the lunch detention room the lady didn't let me eat my lunch she said, you have to get a school lunch of the day, which is disgusting, someone else decided no and he got a cookie and a water bottle and the lady took it away and yelled at him, when I told my mom she was pissed because we should be able to eat what we want, and the rest of my lunch detentions I was able to eat my lunch but that shouldn't have happened in the first place. In conclusion this school sucks.
