Fitz's is a nice, chill neighborhood Irish pub.  This little section of Elmhurst (which I don't…read moreknow well) also looks attractive for foodies and the surrounding area is calm and inviting and with easy free street parking.  My old colleague and I had a long overdue face-to-face catchup session (thanks to Covid) on a relatively quiet Monday evening, and this place worked out well for us.  I would say if it got crowded (and it started getting there at one point), it can get overly boisterous here as you might expect of a popular Irish pub.  The draft beer selection and food is decent.  My colleague had their Monday special - a broasted chicken dinner for $9.50 and he enjoyed it.  I went with my reliable pub burger-beer dinner combo and I had their Fitz burger with tator tots for $11.95.  This 1/2 pound burger, which I had done medium, had a thin layer of corned beef, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing and I really liked it as well as the generous side of tator tots.  I also had the following draft pints, each a very reasonable $6: - Boddingtons Pub Ale (4.7% ABV) - Guinness Draught Stout (4.2% ABV) - Surly Furious IPA (6.7% ABV) Note that their printed menu might be out-of-date as it showed the Fitz burger at $10.95, but I also knew from online perusal that it showed as $11.95 which is what I was eventually charged.  So it was no surprise and no biggie either, but just a heads-up and the menu also does say prices are subject to change without notice.  Our server Sophie was friendly and attentive and actually on her first shift at the pub, and she did a great job for us.  I'll go with 4 stars, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.  There were 16 drafts on tap, and if they had a more extensive and diverse beer selection (and this is not a complaint), I might then consider a 5 star rating for Fitz's.  Otherwise, nice pub, and thanks for making it a delightful pub outing for us!

They have everything you can ask for in "bar sports"... 4 pool tables, dart board, golden tee, video gaming, an internet jukebox and TVs everywhere. The pool tables here are free, but may be difficult to get on in the evening depending on if there is league play going on. (Bring your A game.) I do have to say that the owner does a great job running this place and making his patrons happy. He can be seen here often and is very friendly. And unfortunately for my dignity, Common Good makes it ridiculously good. Smooth, not overly sweet, and good enough that I'm never going back to pretending I just want regular coffee. Then there's the old-fashioned donut. Holy heck. Crispy edges, soft inside, and flipping phenomenal. I don't know who they're getting their donuts from these days, but whoever is responsible deserves continued employment and possibly dental coverage. The ambience at 7 a.m. is also kind of fantastic. It's basically me, the barista, and whoever is standing across the street waiting for the train. Quiet, relaxed, and just enough civilization outside the window to remind you that other people have places to be while you sit there eating a donut. Next assignment: come back in the afternoon and investigate the cocktails. I take these reviews very seriously. Next we tried the speciality API month drink called Gratitude in Bloom (tasted very gingery and lemony, almost like a healthy tea drink) and the Springtime Thought Crime (very strong with a hint of cherry). There isn't much seating so it's not great for huge groups but I think there is a patio. It's a pretty casual spot and great for just hanging out. The music is loud but the vibe is fun. The bartenders and servers are always amazing and super attentive. They do not serve their own food, but I think they have a food truck sometimes that you can order from and they'll bring it to you.
