What's worse than trying to get your car repaired? Trying to figure out a rental car. What's even…read moreworse is dealing with people who don't know what they're talking about. That's where this enterprise location is different. Jennifer, the location manager, completely figured out my issue with the miscommunication with the insurance, knew exactly what I needed to get put into my reservation notes so I wasn't paying out of pocket and, further, made sure I was listened to, valued and taken care of. She, not once, but MULTIPLE times called me back to get everything straightened out and made sure my rental was properly taken care of. Above and beyond service from her, and her employees at this very very busy location. She knew more than even corporate Enterprise and State Farm put together and was making phone calls right before this location even closed.

On April 24th, I made a reservation with the Enterprise Rental Car off of Memorial for a compact…read moreSUV due to a medical condition that necessitates a vehicle large enough for a scooter, but low enough for ease of entry. Upon arrival at Enterprise during my reserved timeframe, a compact SUV was unavailable, and I was offered either a Jeep or a standard sedan, neither of which were suitable given my medical needs. I was asked to wait for 10 minutes while a vehicle was retrieved from another location, but ultimately waited approximately 30 minutes before being provided with a vehicle that was not clean (see attached photos) and did not meet the Enterprise standards I have come to expect. There was another vehicle available at the location that would have been low enough for me to get into and had enough room in the trunk for my scooter, but it was an upgrade, so the manager declined to provide it to me as it was reserved for another customer. Given that I had also made a reservation and my vehicle was unavailable, I believe it would have been appropriate to offer me that vehicle and source an alternative for the other customer, as there was sufficient time to do so. Due to work-related travel obligations and already being delayed by an hour, I proceeded with the rental as it was given to me. Subsequently, I discovered a garage door opener in the vehicle and contacted Enterprise to inquire whether it was needed. The representative informed me, "Oh no, that vehicle has been in the shop for a long time. If someone needed it, they would have let us know before now. You're good." This response was concerning, but I continued with my journey as I needed to arrive for work in a different city by a specific time. While driving, the vehicle began making unusual noises. I reported this through the Enterprise designated text system for questions and concerns, but did not receive a response. Once again, given time constraints, I was unable to return to the rental facility. The vehicle reached my destination but subsequently failed to start after being parked for two hours. I contacted Enterprise and the rep was nice and apologetic. I was directed to AAA. They determined that the battery had overheated, causing the caps to pop off and emit toxic fumes. I was advised not to drive the vehicle with the current battery. He said the car looked like it had been sitting for a while and like it had been jumped to start the vehicle. The rep stated that it should not have been provided to me in such a condition. Since AAA was unable to bill Enterprise directly for the replacement battery and requested payment onsite, the Enterprise representative I was working with decided it would be best to tow the vehicle. Instead of arranging for Enterprise to pick me up, I took an Uber to the airport to obtain a replacement vehicle. This entire process occurred while I was in pain, wearing a boot, and relying on a scooter for mobility. The rep in the OKC made sure I was able to get another vehicle in Tulsa and I appreciate that. The rep at the Tulsa airport was very nice as well. The vehicle provided at the airport was great and up to the standard I am used to receiving from Enterprise. When I returned the car the manager tried to make it right, but that could not happen because this whole situation could have been avoided. More than anything I want to make sure they do not put another customer in this position. I believe it is important for management at this location to ensure adherence to the Enterprise standards that I heard on the recorded customer service message while waiting for a manager. The initial vehicle should have never been an option.

It finally took the intervention of the home office to get someone to pickup the phone. The girl who answered first said she was looking at the lost and found and that my iPad wasn't there. I set off the find-my-ipad alert from my phone and could hear it. Suddenly she was like oh here it is! I told her that I needed to arrange to ship it home and the response was we don't do that. I explained that I had spoken to the home office and yes they do it and it actually is a normal thing. Finally I arranged to have it shipped. Or so I thought. I called a few days later to check up on the situation and the manager hadn't a clue and couldn't find it but then located it stashed somewhere. He had it sent right away. By the way that was the worst rental car in the world.

So I could have just been waiting forever even though i had a reservation. The first guy could have just told me that to begin with. I told my warranty company & they said everything should have been arranged. Update: the Memorial location is much better!
