She had gone there with a friend and enjoyed it Parking in this area of Raynes Park can be tight but you can find something in the local residential streets. There is a funky delivery van outside the restaurant, which helps one to find it There's a bit of fun at the start of the meal when water is poured onto 2 small tablets, which grow into warm hand towels. Nice The food was all nice and I appreciated the variety in the menu. We had lotus root chips, deep fried oysters, miso black cod, otoro sashimi, Hashi special roll and miso soup. We finished the meal with red bean mochi and we received some complementary orange to end A nice neighbourhood Japanese restaurant but only 4 stars due to the price

Flavoursome miso soup, and the contents of the bento itself was well seasoned and beautifully presented. We also shared some exquisite tuna avocado sushi. Staff were patient and courteous (we took a while deciding what to order). It's not the cheapest sushi, but it's very popular with the locals, and with such delicious flavours served in a relaxed setting, I can see why. I can't wait to return and try a wider selection!

Located a short walk from South Wimbledon underground station, this is a deceptively large…read morerestaurant serving authentic Lebanese cuisine. The interior is a modern, stripped back take on middle eastern decor, but with traditional imported wooden furniture. There's a small seating area the front and a larger area behind the kitchen. The food is familiar Lebanese cuisine with hot and cold mezze for around £5, from which you could construct a satisfying meal, with grilled and roasted meats, fish and stews for the mains. We chose the vegetarian menu for two at £35, which provided a choice of 7 starters, followed by moussaka and rice. We had baklava to finish. It was a great way to introduce my dining companion to this type of food and everything was wonderfully tasty. There's a similar non-vegetarian menu for £35 as well. They're not licensed but you can bring your own wine, and they don't charge corkage. Service was polite and efficient, and they waited until we had finished the starters before bringing the main course, so it felt unhurried. The bright decor means it doesn't really tick the box for a romantic evening, but it is a good choice for groups or families.

Abdullah, the main cook, has good taste in Lebanese music with respect to traditions of Fairouz and Marcel Khalife - and he knows the Beirut pop beats of Nancy Ajram as well. A respectable establishment that I shall frequent from this day onwards. My standards with Lebanese food are high, and Aya has met the very highest in food quality. The only downside is that this outlet of Aya is a small "hole-in-the-wall" concept, and has a few small tables. Better for takeaway.

I got really spoilt living in the Bay Area having good Vietnamese food at least once a week, so finding something close to what I was used to is rare. This is a no frills place, if you blink you might miss it, the decor is not posh by any means, that being said, it's clean, the service is friendly and good, the prices are really affordable, and the flavours are spot on. I have some food intolerances and eating out is almost always an ordeal, this place has always been extremely good at accommodating my requests accurately. Also, they have really good range of vegetarian options, including the best veggie pho I have had. The only but I could find, is that they are not closer to me, and they only take cash.

They were crispy though could maybe have done with a tiny bit longer in the fryer as the coating was a little floury For my main, I chose special pho - rare beef, well done beef and beef ball with the rice noodles. The slow simmered beef broth was packed with flavour from the bones and spices if a tad salty There are more interesting dishes to return for in the future

I find that South Indian cuisine is a lighter and more refreshing alternative to the normal popularised high street Indian food. There was a big group of us so we got the big round table at the back end of the restaurant. We got stuck in to the Kingfisher lager straight away. We then kicked off with the vegetarian and non-vegetarian starter which consisted of deep fried large chillies, fish and prawn cakes, potato dumplings, spicy lamb and chicken. This was enough for 6 people to share and at £8.95 each was excellent value. We had the Dosa pancake with Masala which was superb, sweet pancake with fried egg and fragrant saffron rice to accompany our meal. Main courses included an excellent lamb dish cooked with fennel, fish moolah, lamb birhianie, chicken cooked in curry sauce. We also tried the excellent dried vegetable dishes such as Beetroot with Coconut and Cabbage stir fried with carrot and coconut. With copious amounts of Cobra and Kingfisher, the bill came to £20 a head which we thought was excellent considering everyone was totally full and satisfied. All in all, Cocum's Kerala menu offers some interesting dishes that are fresh in taste, light in texture and multi-layered with spices. It is a good local restaurant that I wish I lived near. I hope to be back soon.

Cocum serves Keralan food, which reminds me of home - more use of coconut and generally lighter curries. To celebrate a successful campaign this year, my hockey team descended upon Cocum for a celebratory dinner. The 2 Indians in the party gave their blessing, always a good sign when the locals are happy to recommend an ethnic restaurant. Kingfishers all round (except for teetotal me who stuck with an excellent mango lassi) For those used to regular Bangladeshi type curry houses, the dishes on offer here may be unfamiliar but the menu offers nice descriptions and the waiters are happy to make suggestions. For starters, we had masala dhosas, an Indian pancake filled with spicy potatoes. The main courses were a mish mash of different curries shared between us, all accompanied by rice and various breads. The curries were generally lighter than in other places. During the meal, we worked out short corner routines for next season though I'm doubtful how many will be remembered by September! Worth a try to see if you enjoy food from a different part of India.
