Unfortunately, my opinion is the owner, Amber Booth, is a bully. Myself, my daughter, my girlfriends daughter and her classmates have witnessed Amber yelling, threatening, and using biting sarcasm to humiliate the children in front of their classmates. Being strict and teaching the children discipline is a good thing but belittling children in front of their team mates until they are in tears, is not. It's a very uncomfortable sight to watch. I can only assume that the parents who keep their children here do so because of contractual obligations, proximity to their homes, they don't want to leave their friends, or Amber hasn't yelled at them personally. My advice, stay away. There are plenty of great dance schools who build children up and use positive reinforcement for long term success. UPDATE 2016: I was messaged by one of the reviewers/ employee? I gave her the dates my children attended so the response after this review is incorrect. My friend's daughter was one of their best dancers and left DIRECTLY because of Amber's abusive words. After hearing her story, I was motivated to stand up for these kids. There's a special kind of bad karma for adults who bully children the way Amber has. In my opinion, if it weren't for her husband, I doubt there would be very many students attending. read more

Just wrapped up the year with yet another amazing top notch recital at AFPA!! We have been with Amber and Mike for 7 years. My daughter started taking a few classes when she was 4 and did that for 4 years. She moved into the performance group at the age of 8 and then was asked to be on the competition team and is going on year 3 of that. Through all of the years Amber and Mike and all of the teachers have promoted growth and confidence in her with a positive and nurturing environment. My daughter has turned from once a bit shy to a confident, happy and mature 11 year old. She absolutely loves AFPA...everything about it! She truly considers it her second family and I'm very appreciative that we have this studio in our lives! read more

I decided to sign up my granddaughter for dance and I'd heard some good things about Adaptive Force. We been taking her there for a few months now and I'm very happy with the instructors and how they interact with the kids. My granddaughter loves to dance and she has been developing quickly. As long as she is happy, I'm happy! They have a ton of kids dance classes for every age and level, including hip hop, ballet, tap, contemporary, musical theater, acro, lyrical and more. My kids love Mr. Mike's tap and the boys hip hop class. At the end of the year they hold a recital, which is like going to a professional show! The studio is kept neat and clean, plus it's big. AFPA has four dance rooms, and a big break room for snacking or studying. If you sign your child up here for dance, you won't regret it. We wouldn't think of going to any other studio in Phoenix. read more

I grew up as a dancer and I know all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to run a business. The owners Amber and Mike are exceptional people! All of the staff come with very high credentials. My daughter has been dancing with them since they opened over 6 years ago. And now my son also dances here. My son has autism and Amber and Mike have graciously accepted him and all of his flaws to their studio. They help me make sure he is always comfortable and at easy when he dances. I am forever grateful because I will tell you there are gymnastics places and typical schools that will not let someone with special needs in. As a mom all you want is for your kids to fit in and to be accepted. Going to dance is one the highlights of sons day! We absolutely LOVE AFPA! We signed our son up for the all boys hip hop class 3 years ago after trying everything from flag football to trampoline classes and it wasn't until we walked through the doors of AFPA did we feel like we found our fit. Amber and Mike run a very successful dance studio, however that doesn't mean their main focus is on winning dance competition. Actually it's far from the truth, they love and care for each kid getting to know them on a personal basis, making dance a safe space. I've overheard on separate occasions Amber offering to help students with homework while giving other kids an encouraging word. I've read some of the reviews and while I understand that everyone has a right to their opinion I can honestly tell you that "abuse" is FAR from anything I've ever experience or witnessed at AFPA. I can say with confidence that Mike and Amber are amazing humans who give up so much of their own family time and they unselfishly give it to our kids. We are so appreciative that they gave our son a place to belong, a place that he feels safe and a family outside our home. read more

We are so thankful our daughter has found her home away from home at AFPA! She has taken dance here for 10 years now, at every level. She is given amazing training, opportunities, and most importantly, fun! The dances and costumes are also always age appropriate. This is not always the case, when you watch dances from other studios. They have handled re-opening after the COVID shutdown in a very safe way and the dancers are all happy to be back!
