The place is always busy, as I drive by it regularly, but the thought of going away from my Mitsubishi dealer service was somewhat daunting; now, I can only imagine how much money I would have saved if only I'd gone there for service years ago. Andrew Burrows, the owner, and his team are great people to work with. Their service is impeccable with an honesty - they actually try to save you money on repairs! - that's a rarity in today's world of hustle and bustle. They service all makes and models of cars, utes - almost whatever you drive - with a quick turnaround time and labour costs that won't break the bank! They also handle Safety Certificates - got one for a Honda Accord I recently sold - and also sell batteries, ice and even BBQ gas. However, go there for the automotive service. You'll be a convert if you own a car.

Besides having my car ready as promised, they itemised everything the car needed to have done and told me what was of urgent priority. Luckily, there wasn't anything major and it was very reasonably priced. I'm very comfortable now with maintaining my car now. I feel they viewed me as a long-term customer and treated me as such.

I declined as I already made arrangements to replace the rotors and pads. When I picked up my car there were additional charges of $162.00 for things such as wiper blades, 20 minutes of labor to change a light bulb I didn't ask to be changed, addition of top end cleaner and fuel treatment, none of which were requested, none of which I was asked if I wanted. When questioned about the additional charges they stated that it is what they do. This is an unacceptable service practice so if you take your vehicle there, be very specific about what you ask for and get a firm estimate. I addressed the issue with them professionally in writing and they completely ignored my concerns so I hope they enjoyed that $162.00 because they will never get another dollar form me nor a favorable recommendation. Exercise caution with this one.

I spent a really solid amount of money getting a new factory roof fitted to my van and my roof…read moregutters strengthened by these guys. The windscreen had to come out to do this. The windscreen was refitted using the old windscreen rubbers that were obviously cracked and past their use by date. No sealant was used. The assumption was made that I would prefer to fit a leaky windshield back in after doing major work to my vehicle. I was not consulted, given a choice or told of this. Days after the job was finished rain poured in (yes poured - not dripped) through the centre top of the windscreen seal over the rear vision mirror and cascading through my dashboard. The stereo and airconditioning/heating/ventilation system was destroyed by water. The owner blamed the windscreen guy. He refused to take responsibility for his subcontracter or the end result. Still there was no acknowledgement or responsibility taken by Impact that they had handed me back a vehicle that was not even waterproof because of the work they had done. I had no recourse. The work was immediately prior to Christmas and a nice wet season. But now the workmanship has revealed some more of such quality. It is now 4 years later and the paint that Impact body works applied to the factory supplied roof is coming off in sheets revealing bare metal below. There is rust coming through the seams where the metal was not cleaned and stabilised. Everywhere else the van is absolutely fine. It is only where these guys have touched it there are problems. This guy is a motorcycle helmet airbrush artist who needed to make his business bigger so he started doing cars and he obviously lacks some of the expertise required in his workshop but far worse than that, he lacks the integrity to stand by the work that he has done.

I was put onto Impact after seeing some of their work on friends cars. The workmanship has always been of a very high standard with no corners cut. The paintwork was blended and matched perfectly with no discolouration three years on. Body shops in the past have matched the paint but months later discolouration has occurred and I've had to have their work rectified. This hasn't been the case with Impact. I should also mention that Impact has also used high quality replacement parts in their repairs with Adrian able to source hard to procure ORIGINAL parts and keeping me abreast of progress on the car. Impact have always gone the extra mile with my cars and have been flexible with pickup and dropoff. I'm based on the Gold Coast but it's worth the drive for the service and high quality work. [While they were on the phone with someone else.] The real kicker came about a week after I got my car back. Four friends and I were going on a tour of nearby retirement villages when someone piped up from the back about not having a clasp on their seat belt. I fiddled around and found the problem. When the people at McAully's took out the back seat to make repairs, the clasp had fallen behind the seat. When they placed it all back in, the clasp remained under there, forever wedged, like a walrus in a corset. Lacking the manly know how or tools to perform the operation myself, I drove around to McAully's the next day and went to the reception to explain the problem. 'No,' they said. 'We're not liable for that,' and promptly went back to giggling on the phone. Well I never. Until this is fixed, my posse has been reduced by one member. We may be rampaging thugs, but by God do we follow traffic rules. 1/5, would not crash again.
