He said I needed a new thermostat, which he installed. Problem 1. I was charged $169.50 for the service call (which was okay) plus $157.50 for a simple, non-programmable thermostat. I found the exact same thermostat for sale elsewhere for $42. Problem 2. After the tech left, I noticed smudges and scratches on the thermostat. He installed a used thermostat! (I guess that is why it didn't come with a box or owners manual.) Problem 3. The thermostat did not work properly. Thompson sent me a replacement (a new one this time), but that one didn't work, either. Problem 4. When I told Thompson that the new thermostat also didn't work, they said they could send a tech out to see what the problem was, but that I would be charged another service call fee. Problem 5. Instead of paying another service fee, I bought another very similar thermostat (but different brand) for less than $30 and installed it myself. It works fine. Of course, I don't need the defective thermostat that I got from Thompson, but Thompson would not allow me to return that thermostat for a refund. If this hadn't happened to me, I never would have imagined that any business would treat a long time customer like Thompson treated me. Furthermore, Thompson has been totally unapologetic for this episode.

we had our capacitor go out , on our out side unit, a year before American home shield sent some…read moreone out , the put one on it ,come to find out from Mike Berry at Jerry Berry said that the one that guy AHS sent out put the wrong one on it, any ways we canceled AHS back in Jan. so anyways I sent a email before 7am to Jerry Berry website , well Mike called me before 8 am , so he got out there that day, and he said the motor on the unit was making a whining sound ,and it was not going to be much longer before it quits , so we have had them replace the outside fan motor and capacitor and back in Jan he replaced our inside blower motor , they will fix your stuff and are not pushing a new unit on you they get stuff fixed we are happy with the price and the service , great folks ,I highly recommend these guys
