I have nothing but wonderful things to say about South Bay Pain Docs. From scheduling my first appointment, Monique at the front desk is incredibly kind. I really feel that she cares about each individual patient. She truly is the sweetest! You can't help but want to hug her! When Nancy or Lenora call me back into the exam room, I really feel like I can tell them anything. Both are so professional yet I feel like I've known them for years. Dr. Weitzman is the type of physician who has your best interest in the present and also in long run. He made me feel like I wasn't just a patient, I was THE patient. This is very hard to find when you have a muscle disease and "all over" body pain. Ive struggled with chronic illnesses for the past 4 years. I've been passed along from doctor to doctor and was at the end of my rope. I thought no one would ever be able to help me. Thanks to Dr. Weitzman, I now have a pretty clear idea of what the future holds for me. Unlike anyone I had previously seen, he took the time to look at the big picture, flipped it around and made me see exactly what he was looking at. For once, I felt I was a person and not a condition. For once, I have hope. Upon checking out, Melissa and Tawny always find the time to make you feel like you are their priority. I don't know how they do it with so much grace and patience. Even at my best, I couldn't do half of what these two accomplish on a daily basis. This office is a well oiled machine with wonderful people backing it up. Lani, the office manager is always there to greet me by name and also volunteers her time at events focusing on health and wellness. It says a lot about someones character when they care so much about what they do that they spend their own personal time for a cause they believe in. Next door at South Bay Pain & Wellness, Desiree and Astrid at the front desk are a force to be reckoned with. Even being open 6 days a week, these 2 will always be free to stop what they are doing to give you a smile and ask how your day is going. They are so easy to chat with, which I'm sure is distracting from their daily tasks (especially with someone as chatty as I am) but they would never let you know because they are too sweet. If you're lucky enough to have Josh as an X-Ray tech, you're in for a treat! He's one of the sweetest, most caring people I've ever met. I get bummed out when I go in for treatments and he's not there. Nicholas is just a genuinely kind person who makes you feel that no matter how your day is, or how much pain you're in, that what you're feeling is valid and understandable. I'm so happy he's in the position he's in. I feel lucky to know a talent like him. Dr. Zaker has one of the kindest hearts of anyone I've ever met. No matter how long you've known somebody, you can tell if they are there for the right reasons. I feel like Dr. Zaker was meant to be in the exact spot he is in today and you can tell he loves what he does.... and thank goodness, because he's so incredibly good at it. I'm sure there's a lot more that goes on behind the scenes that I don't know about, but what I do know is this: I absolutely made the right choice when making my first appointment at South Bay Pain Docs. I can't give this place any kind of positive review because after calling and being transferred around to three different women and being put on hold for five minutes, I was told they would not see me unless I had an attorney. I specifically called this place because of a review that said after their accident the doctors here had them feeling better. I will add that they would gladly see me on my own insurance. I came to Dr. Weitzman out of referral from my neurosurgeon's suggestion. I've been in back pain for about 3 years (off and on) after being ran over by a car. My surgery did help a lot but I have terrible muscle spasams. He does operate out of the same center where I had my back surgery a little over 1.5 years ago. First of all the ability to work with my insurance is greatly appreciated. I felt like the turn around time was better than any other clinic I've been to- and the break down about my bill was very upfront (less than expected and very well explained). After my initial assessment I was suggested Faucet treatments. It hurt me a little more than I anticipated which is not too bad. I explained this to Dr. Weitzman and he was quick to change the method and I had no pain. I think this shows his ability to really understand pain. Some doctors just don't. After my second treatment just a week later I was out of pain by use of an epidural injection. Dr. Weitzman explained to me that I'll need to start physical therapy immediately to help the pain before the injection wore off. He shares my vision for a pain free life and has been very encouraging. Now I'm still under the facade of an epidural injection and I do believe that I am able to become pain free over time. I think most problems can be solved with back pain with perseverance. I've chosen to do my physical therapy at South Bay Pain Docs as well. I get attached to my doctors and having him be able over see my progress will most likely mean I'll have a more successful recovery. One of the problems I think I'm having is that the physical therapy I received post Surgery from another clinic just wasn't the real deal. South Bay seems much more dedicated to my recovery than the last clinic I went to. read more

I have chronic lower back pain, L-5 S-1. I had gone to a pain management doctor in the past, and the results were not favorable. My insurance changed and I had to go to all new doctors. Enter Dr. Weitzman. Adam is GREAT! He understands pain, and attacks it from every angle possible. My pain level was always an 8 or thereabouts all day before SBPD. I've been seeing Dr. Weitzman since moving here about 9 months ago and am a fan! I have chronic back and neck pain and he's performed epidurals and an rfa that have made a remarkable difference in my quality of life. I've dealt with chronic pain for years so he isn't my first pain management doctor but he IS the best I've seen. He is cautious with pain meds, doesn't over-prescribe but doesn't let me suffer either. The office staff is great and the medical team's easy going energy has a calming effect when I've had procedures. Lastly, I've never had a problem getting an appointment the same week and never waited more than 15 minutes, usually 10. Impressive!! read more

I would give Dr. Weitzman more than 5 stars! My neck pain was so bad that I couldn't sleep at night. Nothing I did could relieve the constant nagging pain. I tried Acupuncture which didn't help. Dr Weitzman is very thorough, caring and carefully mapped out our game plan to get me to where I could exist pain free. I really was afraid I would he heading towards disc surgery. However after a few cervical epidurals and faucet blocks, I am leading a very normal life which is no longer centered around pain. It took time and patience and Dr Weitzman kept me on track and each procedure was an improvement. On a side note, I also had a "frozen shoulder" and had a few MUA's performed by Dr Weitzman at this location as well. I definitely recommend Dr Weitzman. I have so much to say I do not know where to begin. I was referred to Dr. Weitzman for my carpal tunnel. I was in a lot of pain almost all of the time and my thumb, first, and middle fingers were almost always tingling and numb. When I went for my appointment, I was greeted by very friendly and caring staff. I am so sorry I do not know all of your names!! I was assisted into the examination room and was asked a few questions and then Dr. Weitzman came to evaluate my left hand/wrist/arm. He is friendly, intelligent, and compassionate. We talked about options to start me on the road to recovery. I chose to receive medication to relieve the pain. Dr. Weitzman administered the medication while continually evaluating if I was 'doing okay' and helping me keep my hand steady. After the medication, I went to therapy with Dr. Brian. He is also very compassionate and intelligent and funny. He talked to me about the therapy he was going to do and also checked on me during the therapy to make sure I was not in any discomfort. He explained everything and made me feel very comfortable with the therapy I was going through. Now, 2 weeks later, I have NO pain in my left hand/arm most of the time. Dr. Brian is still working on the tight muscles in my forearm and the little bit of pain I have now and then. I am also seeing Roman for my sciatic issues. The pain is really bad at times. Roman is, as everyone else, very compassionate and intelligent. He talked to me and we started on stretches after a warm-up. I became overheated and felt ill. He brought me water and continued to ask if I was feeling better. He stayed with me even when I went to the restroom. I felt so bad because I was just overly warm, but he assured me I did not need to worry and everything was okay. Feeling better, we continued. He asked several times if I was still okay and helped me when I was feeling overly warm again. Some of this might seem like the smallest things to the reader, but all of them are huge to me. I drive from Encino to doctors in Torrance because of the compassion and care I receive from them and their amazing staff!! I briefly spoke to Dr. Nick. He greeted me with a huge smile and a lot of warmth. I feel like I am and will be in 'good hands' at South Bay Pain Docs. I recommend them to anyone who has any type of pain. My whole life I have been working out moderately to keep a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately 3 years ago I started having knee pain. Surgery was done to repair my torn meniscus, but even after extensive rehab the pain wouldn't go away. Luckily I found Dr. Weitzman. He proposed to do a series of hyaluronic acid injections and one PRP injection to help regenerate my knees. This was 1 1/2 years ago and I got 75% of improvement in pain relief and range of motion. I'm finally able to hike again, stand for a long time at my work and bend my knees to pick up things. The results were so good that we have decided to go for a second series. I'm positiv that we're even going to get better results! South Bay Pain Doctors is a great office! Everything is clean and modern. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient and the scheduling is easy. Everybody is on top of their game. Dr. Weitzman has been very patient with me and my fear of needles. The most important qualities I look for in a doctor are compassion, highly qualified in their practice, and aggressive with fixing the problem while conservative with being invasive. Dr. Weitzman certainly fits the bill. Besides being a genuinely caring doctor, he works hard to help his patients. One year ago, he took multiple approaches at fixing my significant leg pain through multiple therapies while minimizing the need for invasive practices. After helping me eliminate my leg pain, I am now back in his office for a tear in my shoulder. It is terrible to have to go back to the doctor, but at least I can go to one that really cares and will help me fix the problem. read more

Please avoid this place unless you have money to waste and don't care about improving your health. They play games when it comes to billing and they are only concerned with making money period. I was initially quoted around $300 for a consultation that lasted no more than 10 minutes and then received a bill for about $600. Second, I received no written evaluation and then was quoted 3 different prices for a Botox treatment. Dr. Weitzman didn't answer most of my questions and actually rushed me put of his office so he could rip off someone else. They were trying to rush me to schedule the procedure to take advantage of my insurance deductible and because I had been suffering from daily migraines and was desperate for relief. Dr. Weitzman is a crook. He quoted me around $3,500 and then his representative quoted me $5,000. I ended up getting a similar treatment for only $270 in Manhattan Beach. I am now fighting my 10 minute $600 bill with them which has been dragging on for weeks. read more

This review is FAR overdue. I have been a patient of Dr. Weitzman for several years for various issues (neck, back, elbow, etc.). I have had chronic pain due to many factors (snowboarding, running, sleeping wrong, you name it). Most recently I had severe elbow pain that kept me from using my computer (no injury) and more importantly kept me from sleeping and lifting anything with my arm. After traditional tests showed there was nothing "really" wrong, Dr. W suggested an MUA (manipulation under anesthesia) - basically worked out my extremely tight muscles while I was asleep (read: it hurts to dig deep into muscles when you are awake). It has been about 4 months and I am completely pain free. I can rattle off a bunch of other procedures that Dr. W has done on other painful parts of my body that have helped me get back to my normal life, but that would take far too long and remind too much of how old I am getting. I highly recommend that whatever your issue is (assuming you are in physical pain), that you see Dr. W. If nothing else, he is honest and if for whatever reason he doesn't think he can help you, he will tell you. PS - I should also mention that I work in the healthcare industry (20+ years) and have worked with and seen a lot of physicians, Dr. W is truly one of my all time favorites - he is kind, honest, knowledgable and effective.
