Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dr. Joukar and his amazing staff. Before I started acupuncture treatment, I was suffering tremendously from vertigo, pressure in my ear (where it felt closed and clogged) anxiety, and low energy. I called to have a phone consultation before scheduling an appointment and he sounded so passionate in what he does. I put my faith and trust in Dr. Joukar and today I am a new person! I have to also add, the treatments are completely painless. I have a phobia of needles but the needles are so thin I literally do not feel a thing. For those seeking an acupuncturist, look no further. Dr. Joukar has so much experience and knowledge in the field. He truly cares of his patients well-being. You will not be disappointed with Dr. Joukar, especially the results. read more

Dr. Joukar and his staff are amazing! I always feel so welcomed the instant I arrive. Before coming here, I'd never received acupuncture before, but many of my friends had recommended it for its multitude of healing properties. I'm someone who is generally squeamish and scared of needles, and yet, now I get acupuncture once a week! It's crazy how I can tell Dr. Joukar about any ailment I'm having (literally anything) and after one or two sessions, the issue resolves. To me, acupuncture feels like magic, even though I'm sure there is a more scientific and medical explanation for why it works! I highly recommend Acupuncture Help Center and the caring and gentle energy of Dr. Joukar. read more

I was skeptical, but my nurse practitioner suggested I visit an acupuncturist for stress/hormonal issues. Within a month of treatment with Dr. Joukar, my menses returned! His gentle touch, compassion, and professional staff - especially Irma - provided much needed lessons in self-care. I recommend acupuncture to everyone. It truly turned my life around. read more

Dr. Joukar is an amazing healer! I started seeing him after trying every type of doctor and specialist for lower back pain I've been experiencing for 10 years and seeing zero results. He approaches his patients with a comprehensive approach and factors in all sorts of information. He never once rushes and goes out of his way to accommodate to his patients. He comes up with a treatment plan and is on top of it every session. His consistency is very comforting and his care is exceptional. I have been going to him for acupuncture, cupping, and massages consistently and have noticed improvement all throughout my body. I had always heard that acupuncture is relaxing but I did not realize how vital it is to my body until trying it. Put your trust in his hands and let him do the healing - he was born to do it! Additionally, Bianca and the rest of his staff are very helpful. It's rare to find a front office in the medical field that is friendly and knowledgable and they truly deserve that recognition. 10/10. Would recommend to everybody! read more

My mom recommended Dr. Joukar for my chronic tension headaches and I was so happy that after my first visit my headaches are completely gone. Due to work and busy mommy life, I have been suffering from constant pressure headaches for the past 2 yrs. At only 35 then, I stated taking every pain medication that was available because I couldn't tolerate the constant pain. All these pain medications ended giving me heartburn and I was so sick and tired of taking 6-8 pills every day so I decided to give it a try. Wow I am so happy with the zero headaches, completely off any pain meds, zero heartburn and I feel so much more relaxed and level headed. Dr. Joukar is extremely knowledgeable, very kind and has excellent bedside manners! His staff is amazing, Irma is always so accommodating and welcomes you to the office with a smile. I look forward to going to the office every time and it definitely beats taking all sorts of medications! I highly recommend Dr. Joukar for acupuncture, he is simply the best. read more

Dr Mehrdad Joukar was born for this kind of work! He is a healer in every sense of the word; he makes me feel at ease, gives me supplemental exercises and tasks to do at home, is always clear about the reasoning behind everything he is doing, makes every attempt to answer my questions, and offers insight to issues that I have not even brought up! He is attentive to every detail (like advising patients to refrain from wearing electronic devices and restricting clothes which would inhibit flow) and is transparent about the amount of time realistically needed to start seeing a difference. I first came to Dr Joukar for a work related injury, but will be a private patient of his for the rest of my life. As an energy worker myself, I am well aware of the whole life approach to healing. He shares an office with another acupuncturist and a few physical therapists, and while the office is basic, the treatment rooms are clean and I can relax there. Also, parking in the lot behind the medical building is validated. The office is on the 6th floor, take the elevator to the top, make two lefts and its the door at the end of the hallway (was tricky to find the first time!) When you visit him, be sure to tell him EVERYTHING that is going on in your body - mental, physical, spiritual...it is ALL related and one can be triggered by another. He will not judge you, but will then be able to make a holistic plan to get you to your best! He works with most insurances and also accepts cash/check so ask his scheduler, Bianca, about those things when you call the office. She is totally sweet and very patient. Oh! He also practices other forms of oriental medicine (not covered by insurance) like cupping, which I've not yet tried but plan to. Dr Joukar, thank you so much for working with me and identifying issues I was not aware of. I've already sent one friend to you, but I will refer you to my friends, family and coworkers over and over and over. You have a 100% approval rating from me and I trust you with my health. read more

Let me start off just by mentioning that I would definitely recommend this acupuncture center to everyone I know! My mom was diagnosed with vertigo about 5 years ago. For those of you who aren't aware, vertigo is not curable but it can be controlled. After going back and forth with different doctors for about 6 months I finally convinced my mom to try acupuncture. Best decision ever!!! My mom since then only gets about 1-2 episodes per year in comparison to multiple ones on a monthly basis. She says she sleeps better, doesn't feel her anxiety as much and is so happy to be feeling normal again. Thank you so much Dr. Mehrdad!!!! read more

I would highly recommend Dr Joukar. He has an MD along with his acupuncture degree! I'd never been to an acupuncturist who was also an MD, and he's very knowledgeable. I came in for pain in my abdomen which is totally gone, and chronic mid and lower back pain which has dramatically improved. The office is very bare bones, but they take Medi cal which is pretty awesome along with other insurance. He's very kind as are the receptionists at the front desk. After calling around for weeks to clinics that charged $200 a visit before I realized Medi cal covered acupuncture, I'm eternally grateful for this place! read more

Who knew that acupuncture would solve skin problems?! I didn't know until I heard that it would work but I didn't believe it until I saw the results firsthand. I was struggling with breakouts and acne for 4 years. I never had skin issues prior to moving to CA. FOR 4 years, I tried all types of changes to help resolve my acne; I changed skin products, changed my diet, tried anti-acne treatments that would only lead to my skin drying out. After 5-6 sessions of acupuncture with Dr. Joukar, I began to see proven results. I couldn't believe it!! My breakouts were starting to disappear. I'm on my 11th session and my skin is finally cleared up again. I'm so happy. I'm beyond grateful that I gave acupuncture a try. I am writing this review because this may help someone else who is suffering from the same issue. I am so glad that my friend referred me and I hope I can do the same for someone else. read more

I had some severe pain from hip surgery that was done last year as well as frequent sciatic nerve pain throughout my upper torso and neck region. I recently injured my lower back. My doctor referred me to this Accupuncture center for reducing inflammation and loosening my muscles in the back. So far I have been to 4 sessions of accupuncture with Dr. Mehrdad Joukar and it has been amazing. I feel the difference already. What I like is that Dr. Joukar was a medical doctor before so he has a very good understanding of both western and eastern medicine. He is very knowledgeable and he explains everything he does and the reason behind it. I like to know why certain points are chosen to place the needles in and he always shares that information with me. I am hoping my insurance will authorize more sessions because I can definitely see a difference. The nice thing is his fee is very reasonable even if my insurance doesn't cover more sessions, it is very affordable to pay out of pocket. read more

Dr. Joukar is kind, caring and attentive. It is the first time for me to write a review on yelp, but I feel like what Dr Joukar has done for me is a bit of a miracle. When I first went to see him at Acupuncture Help Center, I needed 12 hours of sleep every night and some days didn't have the energy to walk my dog even a few houses down my block. I am just at the beginning of my healing process, but I am making such strides that I actually have hope that I will be healthy in the future. Also, I have to say that Dr Joukar is so kind, and actually funny, that I look forward to all of my visits with him. I should also say, that I had seen just about every kind of Doctor before coming here, and no one was able to do much for me. I highly recommend Acupuncture Help Center and Dr Mehrdad Joukar to every patient wants to have Acupuncture treatment. Thank you Dr Joukar! read more

Dr Joukar and the the Acupuncture Help Center are true, and wonderful practioners of acupuncture. He is helpful, courteous and offers a very reasonable rate when insurance isn't an option. My primary care physician referred me to him. As a professional photographer and videographer my body - from neck and shoulders, to hands, back and feet can become very pained and inflamed from regular use to the point of pinched nerves and my neck 'locking up'. Good acupuncture prevents these problems so I can continue working. Thank you Dr Joukar! read more

I visited this office due to the high Yelp ratings. The doctor was very nice and knowledgeable and I seemed to get a good treatment. However, there are 4 reasons I will not return. (1) He told me I would need to come twice a week for about 9 weeks -- this seems excessive, as I have been treated for a similar problem by another acupuncturist in the past and only needed 2 treatments, (2) They do not accept credit cards, so I could not use my flexible spending card (3) They could not give me anything other than a generic written receipt for my co-pay and therefore I have nothing to submit to get reimbursed by my flexible spending account, and (4) the office was relatively cluttered -- not a big deal on its own, but just added to my dissatisfaction. read more

They must be so busy or either lack of staff. Put on a hold and never returns call back or email. I can't believe just confirming an appointment date and time is this hard. Never been to their clinic yet but I bet they would just leave their patient unattended. read more
