They tested the old one and told me where I could find a new one just like it but they had a used one so I took it and have not been disappointed. By the way PGE paid for it! Jim gives a brief guesstimate of what he thinks may be the problem. He's very up front by saying it could be more or less but he won't do anything without calling me with the diagnosis and reviewing the details of what he will fix. I dropped my laptop off on Thursday afternoon and it was ready the very next day. I have been working with Jim since 2012. I was away from the area last year and I took my machine to Geek Squad. I regret the whole experience. They had my laptop for 2 weeks, told me it would be about $90 and ended up over$300. They gave me a big folder with paper explaining what they fixed but I couldn't understand it. That's what I appreciate with Jim. Next time I won't sweetest the 40 min drive to Beaverton. After all that, both USB ports ended up dead and he claimed the IC chip had failed -- something that wasn't an issue before. He refunded the $50 for the port, but I still paid for the cleaning and lost a ton of time. Taking it somewhere competent. Don't take your PS5 there! It'll come back worse.
