David quickly discovered I had high inflammation due to autoimmune (Hashimoto hypothyroidism). He explained why I needed to change my diet to warm alkaline foods. At all times I felt I was in good hands during the three months I was in his care. He was very accommodating when I had to change appointment times. A couple of days after my second session, my glucose monitor went off in the middle of the night. Normally this happens when I have eaten something I shouldn't have and it was spiking. But, no. It was too low! Not believing it, I check with my finger prick monitor and it corroborated the reading. I was shocked. I have since stop one of my medications, cut one in half, and cut my insulin in half. I am very excited to continue treatment to see how much I will be able to come off of. She recommended many supplements which I ended up purchasing from the practice, before doing my own research (that was my fault). Unfortunately, the follow up was a different story. When I mentioned the side effects I experienced from the supplements, there was no acknowledgement. Furthermore, I was suffering with a very significant headache and needed some stimulation in addition to the needles. When I inquired about this (since other methods of stimulation have been very effective for me with my previous acupuncturist in Houston), I felt very dismissed as the provider was quite eager to exit the room. At the end of the session, I was asked if I'm feeling better and when I was honest and said not really, the response I received was "do you do anything for yourself besides coming to acupuncture?" When I answered all the ways in which I practice wellness, the answer was "okay we'll see you next week" and was out the door before I knew it. Felt quite dismissed and not listened to, and unfortunately will not be returning. I wasn't going to post this review, but a few days later, my pain was getting severe enough to warrant driving to Houston in the middle of the week to meet with my previous acupuncturist who has been consistently attentive and helpful. He had a sudden disc problem that impinged his nerves, leaving him frantically screaming in pain and unable to move more than flounder with effort. We rushed him to a 24 hour emergency vet and they sent us home with intense pain killers and anti-inflammatories--all with big side effects. We rushed him to an acupuncturist after that which seemed to help but it was impossible to get him a follow up appointment for months. It had been 36 hours since the pain began and the only position he could maintain (though very feebly) was halfway-sitting up with stiff front legs. But now Keith--located in Texas and me in California--guided me through techniques *via video call* that immediately relaxed our desperate dog--so much so that he was able to slow-melt into a peaceful *laying down position* which he hadn't been able to achieve since the impingement. Then he fell fast asleep. Keith said to let him sleep for 4 hours. With so much pain, he hadn't been able to sleep at all for over 36 hours and suddenly he was out cold for pretty-much exactly 4 hours to the minute! He woke much more capable to stand! We had a follow up session the next day and again, he melted down and fell fast asleep within the first gentle hand-holds! Magic!!!
