I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and didn't want to add additional medications on top of all my other medications so I thought I would try acupuncture. I am glad I did. I see Dr. Bianca and I will just say that everything is top notch. Not only was my pain addressed, my blood glucose level started coming down naturally. I was on 3 medications and insulin. A couple of days after my second session, my glucose monitor went off in the middle of the night. Normally this happens when I have eaten something I shouldn't have and it was spiking. But, no. It was too low! Not believing it, I check with my finger prick monitor and it corroborated the reading. I was shocked. I have since stop one of my medications, cut one in half, and cut my insulin in half. I am very excited to continue treatment to see how much I will be able to come off of. Oh, and yes, my Fibromyalgia is doing better but I am more excited about the improvements in my diabetes. Dr. Bianca is very caring and knowledgeable, I am so glad that I decided to try acupuncture out. Wish I could give more stars. read more

The place is really clean, peaceful, and well kept. My first session with one of the providers was really nice and I felt very listened to. She answered my questions and made explained her rationale behind some additional recommendations. She recommended many supplements which I ended up purchasing from the practice, before doing my own research (that was my fault). Unfortunately, the follow up was a different story. When I mentioned the side effects I experienced from the supplements, there was no acknowledgement. Furthermore, I was suffering with a very significant headache and needed some stimulation in addition to the needles. When I inquired about this (since other methods of stimulation have been very effective for me with my previous acupuncturist in Houston), I felt very dismissed as the provider was quite eager to exit the room. At the end of the session, I was asked if I'm feeling better and when I was honest and said not really, the response I received was "do you do anything for yourself besides coming to acupuncture?" When I answered all the ways in which I practice wellness, the answer was "okay we'll see you next week" and was out the door before I knew it. Felt quite dismissed and not listened to, and unfortunately will not be returning. I wasn't going to post this review, but a few days later, my pain was getting severe enough to warrant driving to Houston in the middle of the week to meet with my previous acupuncturist who has been consistently attentive and helpful. I was reminded of what truly good bedside manner is and how important that is, not just because we pay a lot of money, but because it impacts our quality of life. read more

I love Dr. Pearl so much! My mom was a regular with her work injuries and she took me for my chronic pain and chronic nausea. Dr. Pearl helped me so much and made me feel so comfortable! read more

Pearl Acupuncture is amazing! I've had acupuncture in the past and needed to find a place near my new home. After reading their profile online, I scheduled a visit. Dr. Bianca has been treating me for the past month. I feel so much more relaxed after each session. My shoulder pain has reduced and I don't feel tension and stress as I did before I started. What I love the most is that they accept my insurance, which is BCBS. I only have to pay the co-payment. Awesome sauce!! read more

I came in with a migraine and left without one. Still in disbelief. I am new acupuncture and have been nothing but impressed. Pearl is professional and friendly and wise in her field. I am also trying this for fertility aid and I felt very well cared for and listened to throughout each appt. I recommend this so strongly!! read more

I am very impressed with Pearl Acupuncture. I have constant stress headaches and allergies so I thought that I would give acupuncture a try. This was my first acupuncture experience & I loved it! I had no idea what to expect - but Pearl, my practitioner walked me through the new patient process & answered all of my questions with detail. We talked about my medical background & my overall goals for treatment. The treatment itself lasted about 30 minutes total and Pearl made sure to walk me through all the steps, explaining the process and making sure I was comfortable. The biggest benefit I feel after working with Pearl is the newfound sense of balance. I always feel more peaceful & able to regulate my energy levels after just one session. After my weekly treatments, I am able to achieve great sleep - which lasts throughout the week! I recommend trying acupuncture here if you have stress (which we can all relate too!), headaches, allergies or trouble sleeping! Other Notes: reasonable prices, accepts insurance, clean & comfortable office & treatment rooms. read more

Pearl is the best! She definitely knows her stuff, can't argue with a couple generations of experience in her family. Try acupuncture with Pearl before anything else, save yourself from meds that can make things worse. I have suffered from migraines due to stress, eye strain, and everything else you could think of. I have been on high levels of steroids, narcotic pain killers, and even injections into my neck and back to help ease the migraines and pain. I went out on a search to end all the ineffective toxic options that were given to me by countless doctors. When Pearl suggested a treatment plan I was eager to have a treatment that would not have the potential of all the side effects from medications. After steady seeing Pearl i am 100% pain killer/steroid free, my sleep has improved and my stress level is easily managed with acupuncture. I can't say "seeing" is believing because unlike a pill or potion it's all natural and offers immediate relief. The medications and typical treatments for migraines/headaches are so not worth the risks of side effects that unfortunately gave me more side effects than relief of my pain. You go in, completely zen for half an hour and come out with super clarity mentally and pain free. Keep an open mind to acupuncture if you have never had the chance to experience it. Pearl is amazing because she will totally humor your hesitation to the unfamiliar and answer all your questions in a way you can understand. My treatment involves cupping which is something that your body will thank you for trying! Pearl has serious skills and I am convinced nothing else has made the impact acupuncture with her has had!! read more

Wow! I cannot go on enough about Pearl Acupuncture. I am a part-time professional classical singer who has been dealing with restriction in my voice for over a year now. I have been seeing a speech therapist to fix the biomechanics of my issue, but sought out Pearl to help with the chronic tightness in my jaw, neck, and shoulders that has been restricting my voice. After ONE session I feel better than I have in over a year and my voice is sounding better than it has in over a year! I am awestruck. I bought a 3 pack and I absolutely cannot wait for my next appointment. I found so much relief from my first appo I can only imagine how I will feel after three. Thanks to Pearl, this singer has her voice back! **Update: I have now had the opportunity to work with Pearl Acupuncture's newest acupuncturist Bianca, and she is just as amazing as Pearl! I was a little nervous to work with her because I know and trust Pearl so much, but Bianca was fantastic. Her plan of care was a little different than Pearls (for the same issue) but I experienced just as great of a result and I will not hesitate to schedule with her in the future! Both ladies are magnificent at what they do!** read more

If you want a practitioner who does not give a damn about your pain, this is the place for you. I had an appointment to deal with a painful knee. After days of waiting for the scheduled appointment I was called to say my insurance was not in network. Now I have to again wait a week or two. Very sloppy patient management but she does not give a damn. read more

I am SO happy I found Pearl (thanks again Yelp)! Just after the second session I was already feeling a big change. No headaches, and a feeling of overall calmness and balance. Had my fifth session today, which was a combo of needles and cupping....and that heat lamp I love so much hitting my upper back! Woohoo, I did not want to leave. You really do leave feeling like a feather ready to take on anything! If you're a stress ball, an anxiety ball, a crying over everything and nothing mess, then go see Pearl and get your emotional resilience and self back, like I did ;) Thank you Pearl! read more

I've been seeing Pearl now for almost a year and I highly recommend her services. The office is extremely clean and very modern. From the moment you enter the office until you leave you're treated like family. Pearl truly cares about her customers and their well-being and now even my husband has started to see her! read more

This review is long overdue and the only reason I am giving Pearl Acu a 4 and not a 5 is because she left Austin and I am TOTALLY bummed that if I want the best I have to travel to Richardson now. Pearl has helped me with various issues like: a strained lower back from doing dead lifts with crappy form, a serious 3 day headache that was driving me insane, emotional stress from dealing with the lost of a family member and also to help ride me of the infamous Central Texas cedar allergies. From needles to Tui Na to cupping.....Pearl knows her stuff and is amazing. She was voted Best Of 2013 by Austin Fit Magazine which was well deserved. She treats every client without haste and truly is a partner in overall health wellness. read more

Pearl is a great acupuncturist. I have to write on behalf of my husband because he had such great results and I have definitely benefited as well :) He went to Pearl with chronic back problems and after only a few treatments, his pain was gone! She really has a knack of finding exactly the cause of the pain and getting results. He has continued to see her for regular preventative maintenance and highly recommends her to anyone who is physically active. Go and see Pearl! read more

I started going to Pearl for help with stress relief about two years ago. I'd never had acupuncture before and had no idea what to expect! The first few sessions, were - meh! But, what I didn't realize is that while I consciously wasn't noticing anything; man, was something happening! I noticed that I wasn't that Raging B quite as often. That I could get a handle on those tremendously stressful triggers and do it with even a bit of grace! Imagine that!!! LOL!! I also discovered that I have a sweet spot of two weeks - beyond that the RB comes roaring back to life! Pearl has truly helped me manage my stress level and that has made such an improvement in my life over all! I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who's considering acupuncture for what ever reason! read more

Pearl is a gem! I Hadn't been to a acupuncturist in years, so I decided to give it a try again. Now I can't imagine another person to handle my accupuncture treatments :) Do yourself a favor and see Pearl! She was able to help me with back and neck pain issues, I started feeling improvements very soon after. Much better for pains compared to getting a massage. read more

Pearl really helped my chronic tendinitis and I felt a strong sense of over all well-being after just one session. Can't wait to go back! Thanks Pearl! read more

I have been going to a chiropractor for years and had never thought about acupuncture as an adjunct. I am now going to be a regular! I told Pearl about my tightness in my neck, shoulder, and back as well as my chronic allergies. After treatment number one - my neck and back were relaxed. Since, they have relaxed even more. It is great to be able to turn my head 180 degrees regularly! I used to have to take a Claritin D every day for my sinuses. Since treatment number one (3 weeks ago) I have not yet had to take a Claritin D. That has really helped lower my blood pressure. Pearl is so professional and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend her practice enough. I am so very glad I went and you will be, too. read more

Pearl is a pro. Her knowledge is extensive, her professionalism is on point and her personality & style makes the overall experience one that you want to repeat on a weekly basis. She helped me through an incredibly stressful time in my life that wreaked havoc on my body. She not only listened to my complaints, but she anticipated other issues that I hadn't noticed yet. The care that she puts into her sessions really leaves you feeling like a million bucks when you leave. I send my friends in the area as well--and I am very careful who I refer my friend on to. Trust me, she is amazing! read more

Love Pearl Acupuncture! I don't get acupuncture done anymore for a few different reasons but it has nothing to do with the business, this place is great! Very relaxing and calming, not painful at all. If I start acupuncture again I'll definitely come back here! read more

My wife injured her ankle with damages to her nerves and tendon. Good thing we found this place on Yelp. Pearl was very professional and courteous. It was painless and very sufficient. The price is right and it's just what the doctor ordered. This will be the only place we would go from now on. We are now true believers in acupuncture, thanks Pearl. read more

Fantastic. Pearl has eliminated my chronic headaches and neck pain completely after just three sessions. Very thankful for her expertise.

I've rarely taken the time to write reviews on yelp, but I feel compelled to write about my outstanding experiences with Pearl. I'm fairly new to acupuncture treatment, but have quickly become a believer based on her treatment. My first visit was mostly just checking things out, seeing how it felt and what benefits could come from it. I walked in the door with a low-level but persistent UTI, never believing acupuncture could affect that. Pain? Sure. Inflammation? Probably. But I walked out the door and the UTI was gone! I was astonished. Fast-forward a few months, and I discovered I'm pregnant. Pearl was thorough and extremely knowledgeable about how to help the pregnancy to "stick." I felt great after leaving. A few weeks later, however, I had experienced a large subchorionic hematoma, which is essentially a large blood clot in your uterus that can interfere with the pregnancy. Pearl was so thorough in her questions before treatment, and so willing to listen, which is exactly what I'd come to expect. She also sent me home with "homework," which took the form of a moxa stick, which she instructed me carefully how to use. I continue to be amazed -- three weeks of bed rest could not do what this treatment has accomplished. It's nearly completely gone, and I feel great! Thank you, Pearl. THANK YOU. I've been singing your praises to all my friends, and hope they will visit you soon too, and feel as good as I do. :) read more

Great news! After 7 months of trying for pregnancy and ONLY 2 months of seeing Pearl, we are pregnant with our second child!!! I truly attribute this slight miracle to Pearl and her accurate treatment. We are thrilled that acupuncture was the reason we are finally able to have our second. I now see Pearl every few weeks to maintain and treat any "morning sickness" symptoms. We owe our joy of having a baby all to Pearl! Woohoo indeed, as good as it gets. Life is good! read more

When I asked if any of her patients do acupuncture for fertility, she said about 60% of her patients do. We knew several couples that did acupuncture in conjunction with herbs/teas for increased fertility & were successful-- so we tried it. Husband did one session but wasn't "into" it. Initially, I went to reduce (work) stress & it helped me sleep better & noticeably improved my mood overall. I skipped one week & was a raging B. It can help with migraines too. Also, she placed pins/needles in certain places on my body to balance my hormones. I started acupuncture in June (once a week) & we got pregnant in July! (I think the stress & hormone imbalance was preventing conception. I also added eating healthier & a moderate workout 3-4 days a week. Just an overhaul of my body. Wasn't overweight but wasn't healthy - not enough sleep, eating poorly, no cardio). She recommended going once a week through first trimester & my OB was ok with it. I actually didn't have to take any herbs. We tried for 5-6 months during ovulation with no luck. But this worked! So thankful for Pearl & acupuncture! Location is in a quiet strip center. Wish it was closer to inner Dallas, but the weekly drive paid off. Also, I recommend buying a package so the weekly session price is cheaper. Something like $80 per the package I bought. You can use an FSA card to pay, but my insurance didn't pay for the sessions at all. Anyway, totally worth it. read more

I have been suffering from tension headaches for 10+ years. For these 10+ years I would pop Excedrin like tic tacs...I'm surprised my friends never put together an intervention. I came to the point where I no longer wanted to live my life taking so much medication. "A pill for every ill," is not something to live by. I had tried massage. Although relaxing, it never really helped long term. I had always thought about acupuncture but never really followed through. Maybe be it was because I was too skeptical, but after reading more about it online I came across Pearl. I have been to two sessions and I am already feeling relief. My stress level is down and I have not had a headache in a week. This may sound small, but to have a solid week with no headache, this is big. I cannot remember the last time I was headache free for a solid seven days. Needless to say, I am no longer a skeptic. Pearl is very professional and takes the time to learn about your issues and background. I came into my first sessions thinking that Pearl was going to help minimize my headaches (that's what pills are for). Instead, I left having learned that Pearl focuses on overall wellness. With the early results that I am experiencing, I wish I had started this sooner. read more

I absolutely can not recommend Pearl enough to friends. I have referred several friends here as this is as good as it gets. I had never had acupuncture before and was having severe shoulder pain. With just a few sessions my pain was alleviated and I was back to normal. I would not hesitate to call her the next time I have an issue and I may just go again if I don't because it is so relaxing! It is simply the best option for me. read more

Pearl is amazing. She is very intuitive and thorough with her approach. I appreciate how easy she is to talk to...very laid back yet still professional. I went to see her for various issues but one in particular was to assist in turning my breech baby. She did her work and then sent me home with a "pot stick" and an at home protocol and it worked! Baby turned not long after. I have since moved and I hope to find a comparable replacement when we get settled in our new city but I know it will be hard to find someone as good. I only have exemplary feedback regarding Pearl. She is friendly, very thorough and thoughtful in her approach. She is well trained and quite competent.
