Acuclaims is the 3rd billing company I have worked with, and the caliber of their system is far beyond any other billing company I have worked with. Their online system of managing claims allows providers to very easily send claims out, and also allows providers to access payment records on past claims. The most important aspect of insurance billing is that all claims are filed, and that follow-up occurs to ensure every claim gets paid. Acuclaims is superb at this. Their online and secure system sends out claims as soon as they are uploaded. This removes the chance for human error in possibly missing claims that need to be filed. They are superb at getting everything paid. I follow all of my payment records closely, and I am so impressed with how they fight for payment until the claim is actually paid. They are very professional in their customer service. I have to give credit specifically to Mori West, the owner, as well as my billing rep, Lily. I often have lengthy questions, and they always answer them, with no complaints as to the time it takes to respond to questions about sometimes many claims. I am so thankful for the peace of mind their company gives me, and our group practice. They are worth every penny. As an acupuncturist and business owner, I do not recommend AcuClaims. If for any reason, if you decide to terminate their services (ie to do your own billing or hire another billing company), AcuClaims makes it impossible for you to take your patient files and insurance billing records. They claim to OWN your medical billing records. They will say that you can save each patient file manually if you need updated files. They don't offer a PDF zipfile download, or any other easy method to transfer your records. They don't want to make it easy for you to leave them. I had to click on every patient file so many times to leave with my info -- thousands of clicks and printouts. Imagine having hundreds or thousands of accounts and doing this per patient! They also won't followup with any loose ends from insurance companies or forward you anything after the service termination date. Remember- they have your banking info, personal SSN, all of it, but will ghost you at the end. I fired AcuClaims bc they were so inaccurate with their verifications and it caused problems with my patients. I moved on to a different billing company but people should know. It should be illegal for AcuClaims to own my patient billing records and make it so hard for me to leave. 100% do not recommend. read more
