Big store. Wide selection. Very honest and hardworking people in here, friendly and helpful. My wife put down two bottles on the counter not realizing they were 100 each. Even after we paid for them absent mindedly she pointed it out and worked with us to correct our oversight. She took time to recommend new bottles more reasonable for the occasion. Went in to pick up a bottle of wine as a gift, so looking for a good quality cab. Found lots of sub-par over priced bottles. One by $10. Worst of all, rating cards for bottles where not the same vintage as was being sold. So either lazy, or practicing deceptive marketing. Won't be back either way. read more

It's convenient, has some interesting selections and pricing ranges. Be warned: customer service is awful. Staff is almost always rude and sarcastic, not witty sarcastic but simply mean. I think they are short staffed and probably work long hours. Plus, I can't imagine the pay is very good. So I chalk it up to stress but still, not my idea of a good time to reach out for assistance only to get my head bitten off by a stranger (but, hey, that's just me!). Only one visit per day! I was just there to fetch some libations. I went to the grocery store and realized I needed one more thing. I get to the check out and I am informed that I can only visit once a day. The clerk could not find immediately answer if this was a state or local mandate. I put my libation back on the shelf to keep the line moving while the clerk looked for an answer. I returned to the line only to be ignored. I had to speak up and ask again. I also asked if that rule was posted anywhere. Again no answer. Yelpers can make their own decisions about this place. They have great selection and I have had a great experience for 20 years. They have just about everything under one roof from everyday beer,wine and liquor to the stuff that is hard to find. However they seem to know what is hard to find and put up with some gouging. How bad do you want it. read more

Great store and great staff! I wanted to sponsor a party for a clients breast cancer fund raising event and this was the store they loved so I went there. The staff was great in guiding/ suggesting what to serve and they were spot on in regards to the selection and quantity needed for the event. Being a beer guy I was very pleased with the variety of specialty beers and found they had as big a variety as any that I have been to and more, I bought 9 different specialty beers for myself to take home. Parking was not a problem and have been back here when doing biz in the area at different times without having to park no more then 40 or so feet from the front door. Fair, they get 3 stars for having some selection. Like Chris mentions, they have some good beers, though rarely chilled. The cooler selection is pretty weak, and I've found some 6'ers to be really old. Prices are higher than I'd expect - especially for good brews. Wine - while there are always some specials, they (lately, at least) are mostly domestic and uninteresting. Service has been fine. Parking is in the hellacious lot shared with NYAJ and TC Landos. Beware - there's a high probability of getting run over. read more

I have only explored the beer and liquor selection here so I will leave the wine section unreviewed. A good selection of craft beers available in singles. The majority of them are unrefrigerated although there is a large cold section, but it tends to be more big brands in 6 packs or large cases. The staff are helpful, but not super knowledgeable about all their stock. Prices on the beer are pretty competitive with other places in the area. The liquor selection is pretty strange here. While they carry some hard to finds like Maraschino liquor they don't carry any non major brand gins. They tend to focus mainly on the famous brands and the prices are not particularly good on the famous or niche products. read more

I'm reviewing this place for the beer and liquor selection, I'm not a wine drinker. I'm very lucky to have this place just down the street. The staff is excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. I think the prices are excellent, and the selection of both beer and wine to be pretty good. I can come in with my latest issue of Saveur or Boston Magazine and find at least half of whatever is in the article. For example, a recent issue of Boston Magazine and the list of local brews was very well represented at AW&S. And an excellent article in Saveur about craft American Bourbon and Whiskey had half of the 12 bottles and at amazing prices too - cheaper that Colonial Spirits, Wegmans and very competitive with New Hampshire. Love the beer and wine tasteings on Sat! I can usually land a parking spot outside the store but Fridays and Saturdays can be crazy. read more

I've only ever purchased beer here and then, nothing out of the cooler. I've found the shelf selection to be pretty varied and have been pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff working in the beer section. (Psssstt...there are some of the pricier brews squirreled away in the back, you just gotta know to ask.) That said, some brands and brews I am able to easily find at the Kappy's close to my home aren't stocked here, which is odd for a store with such a quality selection as this. I've gotta echo what others have said about the liquor selection here-a bit perplexing. I've seen gems i wouldn't expect to find anywhere else and a whole lot of the usual suspects. Prices on the super-high end Scotches seem a bit inflated. And really, say a few prayers before navigating this parking lot. At any time of day, tis a nightmare. read more

I purchased online a 2nd growth Bordeaux, which was clearly identified on Wine Seacher. When I arrived to pick up my wine, it was the 2nd or 3rd (cheaper) wine of that producer, not the wine stated on their website. read more

Good beer selection, meh customer service. I've been a customer for over 5 years, spending hundreds. I show up on a Sunday at 5:35 to recycle my cans and apparently the recycle center closes at 5:30 because the staff is too lazy to keep it open until 6, when the store closes. I'm not normally upset by these things, but the girl at the counter was rude and clearly only cared about getting out of there. Guess I'll be going to Colonial from now on. read more

I live walking distance to this store and have been pleased with it's selection and pricing over the years. I was in there earlier this evening and in this case only to return cans and politely asked for a couple of lollipops that they keep behind the counter to give to my kids (as they have given out regularly when one or more of my kids has been with me). Well, unfortunately this request came as quite a surprise to the gentleman who assisted me as his response to my request was simply "do you want to buy a candy bar or something". I said "no thank you" -to which he again asked "so, is there anything else?" I again politely asked "yes, could I have a couple of lollipops for the kids". After this second exchange he said "you're SERIOUS?". I said "yes, I am serious.. I am a regular customer, live down the street, and often times the kids are with me.. they are at home and asked if I would get them a lollipop". Well, after this experience it is safe to say going forward my business will be taken elsewhere read more

It's convenient, and prices aren't bad. However the staff is extremely unfriendly. They will walk right past you and not say hello. Expect a glair at the counter if you are under forty. It doesn't matter how much of a regular you are don't expect friendly staff or help. read more

This is the third time in a row that I've come and the blonde lady working the register has completely disrespected and insulted the staff in front of multiple customers. It's incredibly uncomfortable and only makes herself look terrible, not them. I go there for the variety and prices but I think her treatment of her staff is awful and I won't go back. It's never appropriate and as someone who works in customer service, I would never do this. read more
