John was in rough shape when he got there, broken L/ankle and R/hip. He was frightened and had a hard time swallowing and the staff gathered around to make him feel welcomed and cared for. Tobe and the dining staff really went all out making sure he got food that he could swallow and just really pampering him during his entire stay. When we would have lunch together in the dining room, the wait staff and often Tobe also welcomed us and took excellent care of our meals. The Office staff was gracious about holding John's room when he had to go back for a second ankle surgery. We paid for the room but it relieved his anxiety knowing that he didn't have to pack up and start over somewhere else. The nursing and therapy staff were wonderful. Without them, John would not be walking with a walker and getting around as amazingly well as he does. I wish I knew their names so I could shout out, but I just want to tell them They Rock! Whenever I go to a public place, I check out the atmosphere and cleanliness, and I have to say the maintenance and cleaning staff do a 5-star job. The buildings and grounds are immaculate! I am happy to recommend this facility to anyone who needs a kind, entertaining, and beautifully kept Rehab Facility. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. It took some time to get John up and running again (I won't let him run yet), but all of your dedication and friendliness is why he is home tonight.

This review is based on some shameful business practices that I experienced with my loved one in…read morerehab at Grandview. My loved one had bought into Grandview's CLC, which gives her the right to stay in Grandview rehabilitation. She planned her surgery and rehab stay for more than six months. Yet, no one at the rehab seemed to be aware of her contract with Grandview, nor did they check, even though it was clear that she was a Grandview resident. Instead, they tried to discharge her, and they aggressively sold an in-home health care service that they had a relationship with, even though this was not in my loved-one's best interests. This continued after I told them she was covered for her stay, asked them to check her contract, AND it was confirmed that she was covered under her Grandview contract. Still, they tried to discharge her and sell her on Opulent Home Services after it was clear that she should not be discharged and that it was covered by her contract. I had to advocate for her for three days in order to get them to fulfill her Grandview contract. I am 100% sure that had I not been present and persistent, my loved one would have been discharged and sold in-home health services, which were against her health needs. I worry about those who do not have someone to advocate persistently; based on my experience, Grandview is not to be trusted to do the right thing, only the thing that they are selling at the moment. On another note: Grandview rehab's staff is excellent, cheerful, and always in a good mood. But, it doesn't matter how great the staff is if the administration needs constant reminding to fulfill their contracts. I am left very clearly knowing that the Grandview administration is not looking out for what is best for my relative but rather maximizing their own revenue. These are not appropriate or reasonable business practices: CLCs do not work if they do not have the best interests of their residents in mind. Those of you with loved ones at Grandview: beware! You need to advocate constantly in order for them to fulfill even the basics of their contracts.

Severely under staffed with many individuals who definitely do not want to be there! The facility is nice and clean. This is the place you take your loved one to if you don't care if they just lay around all day starting at their feet or the ceiling! There have to be better places out there. And it is a shame because they do have some very good people working there, but they are outnumbered, trust me, by those who are only there for a paycheck.

It is difficult to watch our parents and loved ones age, and our biggest fear is not being able to prevent an accident from occurring. Almost three weeks ago, our fear became a reality when Mom fell entering the bathroom, suffering a head injury. For our family, it was traumatic and frightening, especially when we watched her being taken away in an ambulance. We all know that as we age, this outcome becomes more likely, but we are never truly ready for it when it happens. When it was time to decide on rehabilitation, we wanted the closest location to our home. Thankfully, our option was Pam Health in Surprise, AZ. From the moment we entered the door, we were welcomed by staff and a beautifully kept building that is comfortable for both patients and their visitors. We were so grateful to everyone working at Pam Health. Our family had the opportunity to interact with all levels of staff from reception, housekeeping, dietary, medical staff, and physical therapists, including members of the leadership team. We were fortunate to witness Mom's physical therapy and see the inpatient and outpatient therapy rooms where she was able to build back her strength, allowing her to walk with confidence again. There are many staff members I wish I could mention by name, but to prevent this review from being longer than necessary, I wish to recognize one person in particular, Stacey. Stacey was Mom's main physical therapist, and she is amazing! She always made enough time for my Mom, providing excellent care and making herself available to answer any questions our family had. Stacey helped select specific equipment Mom needed after she was released from inpatient care, and made what could have been a stressful situation seamless and stress-free. Her kindness, compassion, and professionalism are everything we could have ever hoped for. The wonderful thing is that the professionalism and compassion expressed by Stacey were expressed by everyone employed by Pam Health. Now that Mom is released, we look forward to the upcoming outpatient visits with Pam Health. We know that Will and his staff will provide a high level of care and are grateful for it. So, to anyone reading this review, you need to select a place for your loved one to receive the best rehabilitation care in a safe space, led by compassionate and professional people. Look no further because you have found it at Pam Health. Thanks again, Pam Health! - B. Burleigh

The PT/OT staff were great and they worked with her to return her to the level of independence that she requested. She worked hard and they did too! All of the staff were very kind and helpful. The facility was much cleaner than the hospital she was in. Ya sometimes her light was on a little longer than she liked but she realized that someone needed more care at that moment and they would be with her as soon as they could. There were two things that could have been better: 1. The food. Most days she turned her nose up and didn't eat or ate very. They had her on a special diet of moist and minced foods which were always covered in gravy/sauce. This was definitely not to her liking. 2. Sharing a room. Now there is not much you can do about the roommate you get so you just have to grin and bear it. She was not overly wild about sharing a room but it ended up ok. One roommate kept her Tv on very loud all the time which was disturbing to her at night. The other roommate would holler out at random times during the night causing her to wake up startled. All patients are invited to participate in daily activities and have meals in dining area. It appeared that most were excited to play the games and interact with the other patients. To sum it up, we were very happy with the care, the cleanliness, the staff, the therapy and the facility, however the food could use some work. I would choose this facility again if the need should ever arise.

To say that she did not want to be there is an understatement. The day we checked our mother in we met with many of the team members who would be in charge of our mother. They were all very nice. The facility itself was nice on the inside and outside. There is one team member that I would especially like to thank. His name is Joshua, and he is the Patient Advocate. He met with my siblings and myself along with our mother, the day she was checked in. During the meeting, he was very attentive to my mother which helped make her feel at ease. He listened to every concern we had for our mother. He took notes and followed through with all of the details and concerns that were discussed. Joshua is amazing at his job! He is professional and has a perfect personality to be an advocate. He is patient, understanding, kind, efficient, and very helpful. One day after a really hard physical therapy appointment, no staff members were able to help my mother be put back in her bed. She was miserable while she waited 15 minutes in a wheelchair. I text messaged Joshua and he was there within 5 minutes. I don't believe this is part of his job description. That is how helpful he is. He sweetly helped her back to her bed (they had to use a hoya to lift her in and out of bed). Next, he helped make sure she was clean and comfortable. This meant a lot to us as we watched him truly care for our mother. This is just one example of his kindness. Joshua was truly a life saver when our mother was there. If we could rate Joshua alone, he would receive 5 stars. He truly was wonderful. The problem we had was that the nurses and aides were understaffed. Our mother was fortunate because we were able to take turns to stay with her. The week I stayed with her, hours would pass with no nurse or aide to check on her. Even when the nurse call light was on, it would take at least an hour for someone to come into her room. One morning she was throwing up for over an hour. The aide was made aware of it. She said she would let the nurse know. No one ever came in that day to address the problem. There were other problems as well. It is our belief, that more nurses and staff need to be hired, if they want their patients to receive better care.
