Over the years I have tried most, if not all of the physical therapy offices in Santa Maria. Active Physical Therapy is the best by far. The treatment session are one on one. There are individual treatment rooms with beautiful calming views out of the windows in the rooms. The therapists are well trained and listen to you to be sure you are getting the most effective therapy for your situation. They also offer massage therapy which I tried and loved. Red light therapy is another service that is offered. Vicky is the first person you interact with and she is so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Be very aware of your insurance even if Active says they take your insurance. We had to find out 3 months after service that they didn't take our insurance. Very unprofessional in handling billing. Will not recommend or go back. read more

This IS Hands Down the BEST PT practice in Santa Maria. CoFounder, Jordan Larson, has done a great job attracting a talented, caring team! This is a small practice and will not be in a large open room shared by many others. You will get a private room. It is not a get you in and get you out business model like so many PT practices unfortunately are. If you want to stay active and invest time in your health APT devotes an hour to You! Yes. You! Your time is not shared with someone else that the PT must work with. You will be seen as a whole person, and your lifestyle, interests and activities will be taken into account. OH. MY. GOSH. Heaven. I've had severe jaw/neck pain for my whole adult life, until I found this gem. I thought that living with chronic pain was something I should just accept since I had exhausted all of my resources for pain management. My primary doc gave me a referral to physical therapy and I stressed to her that I would not go to physical therapy if it was anything like the "gym" atmosphere with the loud music, and 100 people waiting in line. So, my doc sent me to Active Physical Therapy. What a miracle! This is NOT A GYM. This serene hidden treasure in Orcutt is the complete opposite to your run of the mill "sports therapy facility." Everyone is warm, caring, and totally welcoming. Jordan knows how to make you feel like a real human being and not just a number. He has a keen ability and a "sixth sense" in finding the root of your pain issues. He intuitively found the source of my muscular pain and assured me that I would be on the path to healing and not to worry. NO doctor has ever been this kind and positive to me! His calm demeanor and positive attitude will put you at ease right from the start. Don't even get me started with Brandon. He is amazing!! He is a magician. I have no words. Brandon is a magical muscle doctor. He is super knowledgeable and thorough. I am so relaxed after he works on my neck/shoulders that I almost cannot talk. I have referred my whole family to him. This place is the best. I've been to a few physical therapies and Active Physical Therapy is by far the best. Both Victor and Jordan are great guys and take the time to cater each appointment to your needs. It's a smaller place, but the place is not as crowded as the bigger places. I met Jordan over a year ago whilst seeking a physical therapist. I was determined to not have PT services UNLESS I could find a PT therapist that did not treat me like cattle (which many do). I met with Jordan (no fee) and discussed my needs and expectations and, due to not having insurance that would cover visits, decided to wait. So, now, after much time passed and obtaining new insurance, I have been seeing Jordan on a weekly basis. His services have gone beyond my expectations; not only do I receive genuine, caring instruction and service, I receive care in a non-hurried environment (no cattle here!!) . I am provided a loving, spiritual environment. Jordan encourages and instructs me in gentle, self-care. I have even been given the opportunity attend a wonderful meditation class provided by his lovely wife, also a PT. Jordan, most importantly, does not only provide me with structural exercises and advise but also provides hands on healing along with gentle, spiritual direction. I could not be happier that I came here! I was suffering from painful knee problems and thought I was never going to be able to get rid of these problems unless I got surgery. Active Physical Therapy was recommended to me by 3 different people, so I went to see a knee specialist in Santa Maria where I was then referred to Jordan at Active Physical Therapy. Jordan has been a blessing in my life and not only got rid of my knee problems, but taught me how to do deep breathing exercises and calming exercises that I have used in other areas of my life. Their office is located in Orcutt in a very quiet little building across from Albertson's and is easy to get in and out of. I highly recommend Jordan and Active Physical Therapy to anyone because they not only cure painful injuries and other body injury related problems, but they teach you methods that you can continue to use in your every day life, even after your sessions are over with! And I have to admit, I was pretty sad when my knee got better because I wasn't going to get to visit their facility anymore! I can say with 100% confidence that Jordan and Active Physical Therapy changed my life for the better and I could not be more thankful. read more
