Run Away from Active/Rentokil/Terminix I've had service with this company for years. The first two techs I had were fantastic. It's been quite literally nose-dive downhill ever since. Poor tech behavior (I've had to have one completely barred from my home). Inspectors who don't fully do their job. While I appreciate hearing - in 3-hour detail standing in my living room - about your Frenchie breeding business, you didn't take a single note to get me the estimate on the work I needed done. It took 3 months to get somebody to get me the estimate so I can get the work done. The second inspector told me it was bc the first one thought he couldn't close a sale. Clearly he doesn't know how bc the second one got the business, no problem. The two people who have always been professional & consistent: Princess & Stacy. I appreciate you both. But this takes the cake: Finally got the work done. Well, partially, bc the 2nd tech that was supposed to show up & help Stacy never showed, so the work isn't complete. But what did Active do? They charged my checking account - ON CHRISTMAS EVE - for the ENTIRE amount of the work (a 4 figure job, for reference) to my checking account instead of the GreenSky financing account I opened to pay for the work. CHRISTMAS. RUINED. Liquid cash? Gone. On a holiday. Account in SHAMBLES bc you better believe the rest of my bills continued to pull from the account. Disaster is not even the word to describe this. I called at least 5 times + multiple emails to get somebody to call me and face me to deal with this. Nobody ever called back. You can't contact someone local at "your local pest control experts" (that's what's on the phone greeting) to deal with it like adults. No urgency in fixing THEIR ERROR for a contracted, years-long customer. I used to be able to speak to someone in the local office. Their new phone system doesn't allow that. You can only have customer service send a message to ask them to call you back. So much for that "local" part. Imagine behaving like this when running a multi-million dollar business where you just acquired/merged with Terminix to make you even bigger? You don't DESERVE to be bigger. You deserve to be sanctioned. And you absolutely deserve this review. I'll eventually be switching companies but considering it's the holidays & I don't have my money back yet or the mental energy to do this error-correcting labor, it's not at the top of my list. Will be on the lookout for New Years specials from their competitors though. read more

Been with Active Pest control for Termite service for 30 Years. Paid my bill each year on time when I received the bill. I did not receive a bill for 2021 and they cancelled my policy. I called and told them I was waiting for the bill and they still would not continue my policy. Instead, they wanted me to start all over. They are not, in my opinion, customer driven. I'll be looking for another company. read more

Terrible. Does not stand behind their termite bonds. I used the Fayetteville location. We paid for the termite bond each year for 15 years. We found damage in 1/22. Their manager, Willie, came to the house and confirmed damage. He filed a damage report. They have yet to return my calls, contact me, repair the damage or pay for the repair. Its over 4 months now. I moved to Georgia from Florida and purchased my first home in Fayetteville. Great secure neighborhood with friendly neighbors. After moving in I received a bill from Active Pest Control. I never asked for or ordered service so I threw the bill away. Several times. Until I received a call telling me I was delinquent in paying my bill. I told the person I just purchased the home and not the person or persons that asked or contracted for the service. I continued to get threatening phone calls. Afraid of bad report on my credit fell to their terrorist tactics. As they spread their service outside began to see increase of Pest inside. I told one of the employees that since forced to use the service that spraying outside forcing more bugs inside seeing more bugs since service resumed upon my forced purchase and service. Then I received a bill as the service automatically renewed. I asked to discontinue the service as it wasn't in my purchase contract of buying the home and continued received the threatening tactics again for a service I never ordered. Feel like I'm in one of those gangster films paying for protection which increased influx of Pest driving them outside in. I suggest you look for a more friendly sharing Pest Control company other than Active Pest Control. Oddly they just sent a request for a testimonial and gave they above listed testimonial. I would not refer this company to me worst enemy. I'm adding more. If you've ever seen an old Gangster movie that is exactly the actions / workings of Active Pest Control. They keep sending people to the house threatening me. I tell them I no longer want their service and they come anyway. Make sure when you purchase a home that the previous owners have not signed a contract with Active. Even though you haven't signed the contract they will strong arm you into the previous owners contract. I suggest getting and an attorney in advance. Don't use Active Pest Control. Go with another company. Their customer service is terrible. I pre paid for a service through Groupon and I regret it. My appointment was originally scheduled for early June and the tech cancelled on the day of with a promise to reschedule. He never called. I rescheduled after two weeks went by and on the day of called to inquire the whereabouts of my tech. He said he thought I wasn't on his schedule. The day off the inspection the tech was supposed to send over an agreement. He did not. For three weeks I have been trying to get someone to call me back to complete the agreement. I've been with this company since moving to Georgia and the best way I can describe my service is they are a group of friends that manage my pest control. They always come when they're scheduled and handle ANY concerns I have. Since GA has so many critters, I began with several layers of small concerns that have been eliminated and now are rarely seen inside or outdoors. I continued this company's service when we purchased the house a year and a half ago. We have been so pleased with their work in removing squirrels from the attic and keeping the house free of rodents, insects, arachnids, and termites that we have gone to a monthly service schedule. They have provided warranties for both termites and attic critters. Their service now includes spraying the yard for mosquitoes. They recently installed a dehumidifier in the 10000+ cu ft crawl space to discourage mold for a very modest price. In less than a week the humidity in the crawl space has declined from 81% to 50%. All the staff have been knowledgeable, pragmatic, and friendly. read more

I have had Active for almost 2 years. Service at the beginning was good but as time has gone by the service has gotten worse. I am having to wait out a contract before canceling service. I have had to call them repeatedly back after service for bugs. When I spoke with the tech I was told to deal with it. I think not. read more

I have been a client of their termite prevention for over 10 years, Recently I called about a pest control problem and they sent someone to treat the outside for $85. After the second treatment I called to cancel the service, but was advised I had 2 more treatments under contract. I honestly did not remember a contract being discussed during my original phone call and stated this to the receptionist. She offered to have the manager listen to the original call and get back to me. She calls me back in 2 minutes, (I know my original conversation was longer than that) and states the contract was read to me over the phone. I ask if I can be sent a copy of the recording and she said NO. First off, I do not remember ever giving permission to be recorded and second, I am not allowed to hear this recording. Frustrated I then ask if they could at least fix it where the "contract" was not auto renewed at the end. I was advised that they could not do that. I had to remember to call and cancel the auto renewal at the time the auto renewal is set to happen. This is crazy! Just uncheck a box in your system!
