Run. I had to deal with them after the fact because they were billing for Appalachian Medical. Defensive when I asked why I was being billed in December for a March claim. Real Answer: They sat the the denied claim for 6 months. Their Answer: BS about it being a hard job. It took over 25 minutes to get the facts: They submitted March 15, retuned from Primary insurance March 31. Submitted to 2ndary insurance Sept 27. and I quote because "something electronic didn't go right". The owner, Bob, got on the phone with the intention of wasting my time He wouldn't answer my questions (do I have any more outstanding invoices0 and purposely started throwing irrelevant data at me Pam (first customer service person) and Bob both were extremely defensive instead of acknowledging they sat on the bill for 6 moths. This is the 2nd incident - first incident was when I was charged for outstanding items in October for January charges. If you have a choice - Stay away. read more

To begin, I will say that the staff was friendly and the clinic is very clean and modern looking. I went twice, once for a consultation and once to get a "plan" and start with their program. Ultimately I went for a second opinion and I am currently being treated elsewhere. I think the most important thing I want to include in this review is that I found the consultation portion to be a bit unsettling. The person that I discussed my current complaint and medical history with turned out to be the office manager and financial person. When scheduling my appointment I was told I would meet with the nurse practitioner and I made the assumption when I went into the consultation room that that was who I was meeting with. It was after 20 minutes of talking when she said she would go get the nurse practitioner to finish the consultation that I realized she was not the NP! I do not believe she introduced herself as the office manager, only by her name. I think there are two major issues with that, first ethically speaking I do not think the person in charge of finances should be that personally involved with the history taking and medical discussions. Second, as a medical professional myself, I think it's important that the provider be discussing history and concerns. I know in my line of work (lactation consultant) I may hear one thing that triggers more questions or flags a concern that a person not in my position may easily overlook. I also found it concerning that I would be given a complete chiropractic care plan without ever meeting and talking with the chiropractor until I was literally on the table. Now on to the treatment plan. It felt like they took my concern and went to the absolute extreme for treatment. To the tune of over $2,500 out of pocket, despite the fact that I have great coverage (and specifically great chiropractic coverage). My plan should cover chiro care at $30 a visit with no deductible or co-insurance and includes adjustment and xrays. They wanted me to sign up for 30 treatments and seemed to itemize every charge (also wanted me to get a back brace, orthotics, a tens unit, and do other procedures outside of adjustment) only after expressing my financial concern did they suggest that I could drop down to 24 treatments. And again, this is all before I've even spoken to the chiropractor. This was a 20 minute conversation with the office manager, less than 10 minute physical with the NP, and xrays. They also were adamant that I needed 3 treatments a week. As for the adjustment, I only had one on the second visit when we decided on my treatment plan. It was.... much different than I expected (and have experienced since with my current chiropractor). It was about 5 minutes and was mostly my leg being lifted and dropped, foot pointed and flexed, and the base of my skull being tapped. Now, I'm not an expert so I can't really say if that is a traditional treatment or not. But, it wasn't what I expected and the chiropractor did not communicate much about what or why he was doing. To be honest, I think he may have said 5 words to me total. One thing I do want to give credit for is the customer service when I called the next day to cancel my plan. After thinking about it all night and discussing it with my husband, it just didn't feel right for me. I called the office first thing the next morning and left a message as well as sent a follow up email. She very quickly took care of things and cancelled my plan and pending credit card charge for the first installment of my care plan. This might be a good choice for some people, but it did not feel right to me. I am happy with where I wound up receiving treatment and just a month later I feel 100x better already. read more

I've never been to a chiropractor before so I was a little worried about what to expect but I called at 830 am and had an appointment by 900. I had some serious shoulder pain and the doctor gave me a complete eval to include X-rays and an immediate adjustment. I then came back at 430 for another adjustment and further follow-up. I will say that the whole staff was awesome and I felt they were truly concerned with my care. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent chiropractor. read more

Both the Docs and the office staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and I was over joyed about my care until the "Consultation" appt. I brought my husband with as well and it was just a giant sales pitch. They had a power point presentation convincing me that I would need to come 3 times a week for possibly a year. Then, after checking my benefits, tried to convince me that they were OUT of network when I know for a fact they were in-network. I have already reached my deductible and out of pocket max, and they tried to get me to "sign up" for $240 a month! PLUS a $195 at home care kit! I don't know if they normally deal with patients that can afford that kind of money a month, but I have a husband who works on commission and a 16 month old - I do not have an extra $240 a month to pay them for a 10 minute appt. Then they even talked about this "dinner" they provide and the patients bring in one person to get them to "drink the kool-aid". All seemed way to cult-ish to me. The fact they cannot just help my back but want to sell me their at home kits and $30 ice packs and all their supplements by convincing me that everything I am already consuming is harming me and making me unhealthy - left a poor taste in my mouth. I even feel dooped since they had me coming in 4 times before they even went over my benefits with me. Very disappointing. read more
