We have had our child in before and after school care at ALC- Fogelsville for kindergarten through 1st grade, and we are satisfied that the staff care about the kids and keep them safe and keep the place clean and communicate immediately when there is a health concern (such as all childcare centers have to deal with, such as a virus going around, etc). Our child is comfortable being left there and sometimes tells us that we picked him up too early and that we need to come back later, which means that he's happy there. I have used 2 daycares, both thoroughly researched alongside all the other local options, including checking violations on the state website. I have never seen a single daycare without multiple violations, but I check that they are being responsible about them and that none of them are a deal breaker. I highly recommend ALC-Fogelsville. The one thing that I would advise is if you need to communicate about an individual question, you may need to ask in person and then keep track of it yourself in order to get it handled. If you are reading this, you are most likely searching for childcare. My wife and I did the same thing. So how do you determine who to trust? You need to go with your gut, and must visit the facilities and speak with those in charge. But here is my bottom line. Once you walk out of the building, those people are now in charge of your child's life. Period. Perfection is impossible. But in my eyes, my experience, and my 20 month old sons reaction every day we pick him up, Active Learning Centers is as close as one can get. They are like family. They always have time to speak with me or my wife. Funny thing is, I think our son eats better for them than us! I would often say, he ate what snack??? We can never get him to eat. He is so fussy! Infants and toddlers cannot be forced to eat or drink. Hey I'm an old man and you still can't get me to eat tomatoes! The things our son is learning is amazing. He loves to give everyone there a hug and I have never, felt more secure leaving my son with others. FYI- I am not new to this. I have three children in their 20's. I would do anything to protect this new little man. From the infant room to now being in toddler 1, my wife and I are thrilled that our son feels at home at Active Learning Center. read more

If I could give this place negative 10 stars I would. I have worked in child protective services for over 10 years and am VERY thorough when I allow ANYONE to care for my kids. ALC came highly recommended. Well my shy, 8 year daughter was bullied repeatedly in summer 2016. When we raised our concerns the Director Tracey Cramer suggested WE disenroll our children. The VICTIM was being told to leave! Because my kids only attended summers there. The bully and his 2 siblings attend year round and if Tracey went to the parents about their son being a bully, ALC could potentially lose over $30,000 a year from 1 family. They chose $$$ over a child's emotional well being. I recently became aware that a staff member at ALC pushed a 3 year old child and the child hit her head SO hard on the bathroom floor that the parent sought medical attention. and a significant head injury was documented. When the parent tried to address it with the Director, the parent was told her child is "an unreliable source" and "how would you know what happened?? You weren't there!" The child is VERY verbal and repeated the exact same story every time. After getting nowhere with ALC, the parent called the state on ALC. Within 2 hours of making her report, the parent was told, via the ex-spouse being forced by ALC to be the messenger to the parent, that the parent was no longer allowed on ALC site and the children would be forced out unless the "non reporting parent" agreed to do drop off and pickup. Needless to say, the parents agreed that their kids were not safe there. ALC only has 1 thing in mind...the $$$. Their staff emotionally and physically harm children and when they get caught, they blame the parent and tell them to get out. I belong to a mom's group and there are AT LEAST 10 more incidences regarding horrible situations with their children at ALC sites. And that group only has 1,500 moms in it. The Lehigh Valley is a HUGE place. 10+ reports out of 1500 people. HOW MANY HORRIBLE INCIDENCES ARE NOT KNOWN?!? PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN PLEASE. STAY AWAY FROM ALC.
