This place was great, so I'm at the last moment they take cash only good part is they got ATM machine over there every Barbershop that only takes cash should have atm machine. Seriously though I borrowed by the name of Juan saw me made me look like 1 million bucks dude has the minus touch. He will not have a problem coming to this place and walk away not happy recommend 100%. and the place itself had a wonderful vibe, easy music good people talk to fun times getting a haircut. read more

I was recommended to these guys by a friend, who though we have two completely different hair styles, I trust with no questions asked. So when he gave me the tip about them, I called to book an appointment right away for my son and I. The barber I was recommended and called for was booked up and I did think for a second to keep calling around, but David over the phone was very welcoming and professional I gave them a shot anyway. Now being from New York, I don't like or have much faith in Los Angeles barbers. IO just do not. But when my regular guy, from Philly, became busier with his other business, I had no choice to look around. My son got his cut from Juan and myself a Tracy I think her name was. Both very nice and did awesome work. The shop is fantastic. Not just the aesthetics but the energy and vibe. For everyone! Including kids. Which I love and of course is key to me. I work a few minutes from them and don't live that far either, so my son and I are definitely coming back. To give the other barbers a shot as well. Overall, I recommend them for sure! From what I saw they don't offer customer parking, but it's not that bad on the block. read more

Just happened to be at the right place at the right time, and managed to get a spontaneous appointment for a teen male haircut. You should actually call to schedule appointments. The vibe was chill they had on good music and the barbers were very friendly and welcoming. After a short consultation they got straight to work and preformed in a skillful manner. Conversation was flowing and hair was flying. Very happy with the results and extremely satisfied with the service. The place is clean and they all take pride in the work space. This place did a great job on my hair. I made a same day appointment and didn't have to wait. The place is super bright, almost clinical. Looks like maybe they do social media videos too because I saw a ring light on a light stand. No complaints, price was reasonable; $40 for short hair + tip. Cash only but they have an ATM. read more

Well the Facilities are clean , prices are affordable just need to improve the barbers skill

I was recommended to Active Barbers by another barber. I have utilized their excellent barber services for the last 9 months. Keith took over cutting my hair from Robert and it's consistent with the excellent service. Keith is quick and precise. If you're part of Raider nation, Keith is your dude. I feel that all the Barbers at Active Barbers, could deliver a good cut. They are appointment oriented but they take walk in clients when there's space. I support neighborhood business and I enjoy the convenience of being able to walk to get a cut. I recommend Active Barbers. Peace read more

Keith Huerta is the best. He is always on time, great attitude and always gives me the best cut. He's efficient and gets it done. He's my guy. read more

Impressive & friendly service! I called at 6:15 PM and they took me at 6:29 PM as a walk-in. 40 bucks for a haircut - with exacting precision and an attention to detail that I would not have expected at the end of a business day (these guys work 12 hr shifts). Plus, they've got very stylish, comfortable barber chairs and top of the line equipment. Again, I'm really impressed. read more

One of the best barber shops in the area for razor fades. Maybe ten or so dollars up from some of the other shops, but well worth the money. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to park in the lot behind the shop and having to find paid parking on the street. read more

Nobody except for Dave knows how to cut hair! They don't listen to what you say abs always make your hair super unporportinal. Don't come please 0/10. Super Cut's is better. read more

Highly recommend this barbershop! Came in to this shop as i was visiting the city and had a great experience overall. Nataly cut my hair and provided exceptional service. The cut was great and being able to enjoy a fun conversation is always a plus! read more

Best barbershop around. The atmosphere is always positive, music playing, sports game on. Keith is super professional and takes the time to get my cut done right. read more

Best haircut I've had since moving to Santa Monica two years ago. Highly recommend Keith.

Their idea of a close shave is a bloodbath. David, in particular, is a butcher--he'll leave you with painful cuts and major irritation. Appointments are frequently lost, the staff is always late, and they lack even the most basic customer service skills. They are an absolute disaster, professionalism and basic decency are completely absent. They refuse to acknowledge or correct their mistakes, and their massive egos are unbearable. Avoid this place at all costs. They're spiraling downhill fast, and I doubt they'll be in business much longer read more

If you're looking for a men's barbershop on the west side definitely make an appointment with Keith at Active Barbers in Santa Monica! Keith and his colleagues are all great barbers and have created a fun and relaxing environment when getting your hair cut. I consistently walk out happy with a fresh cut. I'm sure this one of the many reasons why their team has such a loyal clientele including me. read more

I have been going here a few years now. Keith never lets me down! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality haircut.

Many would say that cutting hair is a work of art and if that's the case then Active Barbers it's the Sistine Chapel when it comes to getting haircuts. The Michael Angelo of this establishment would be no other than the owner Robert who shows nothing but love and respect to all that come through... and for my hair. To put it simply the scissors here are truly paint brushes and with every stroke comes another fade, tapper, buzz that looks better than the Mona Lisa. I've seen hundreds of haircuts from all the barbers here and they all do incredible work. If you're looking for a great cut, great price, and that feel-good barbershop experience cruise into Active and they'll take care of the rest. PS: Since we're on Yelp it's key to mention Keith .. so what's up Keith! read more

Go to Active Barbers for a great cut and a good vibe. There are a lot of great barber shops in LA, and you can count Active Barbers as one of them. I've had cuts from a bunch of different barbers there, and they were all excellent cuts. The atmosphere is very positive, with lots of chatter between the barbers and just a fun and playful atmosphere. It's a quick trim at a good price and the cut always keeps for a long time. I don't think I'll go to another barber. read more

Just wondered by and got a beard trim and clean up. David was fantastic, listened to what I wanted and did a superb job. Price was great too. Happily will return and recommend read more

My husband came for a haircut today to clean up for a wedding. He spoke to his barber at length about how much he loved his curls and is looking forward to growing them out even more and asked SEVERAL times to leave the top and only clean up the sides. That he wanted to keep and continue to grow out his curls. They chopped everything off. Every single curl. To say we're disappointed is an understatement. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Horrible customer service, they will not listen to your requests no matter how clearly you state them. read more

Keith! My dude is the best barber in town. I've been a loyal customer every 2-3 weeks for the last 4 years. Always consistent. Best barber I've ever dealt with. Active has a great vibe, good hang while getting lined up, always fun. Hellloooooooo read more

I got my haircut twice here and it was mediocre at best both times. The barbers have an attitude when you call to make an appointment and they don't let their customers park in the parking spaces of the parking lot. No customer service at all. read more

The absolute WORST haircut I've ever received. Asked for a high fade and the barber didn't even know how to blend the fade. I ended up going to another barbershop to fix his mistakes. I will never recommend anyone let alone come back. read more

I moved to the area not too long ago and tried to find a decent barber around. I tried a few barbershops before coming to Active Barbers and honestly this place is the best one. Decently priced cut compared to other local barbershops that charge way more for no reason. Keith took care of me my first time here and he got the cut I was looking for spot on. Super clean cut and took his time in the details. Will be coming back again. read more

I've lived in LA for 4+ years now and been all over looking for a barber who can make me look just a little less ugly. As a performing artist in LA I care way too much about that, and can say finally finding Active Barbers was a gift. The whole experience - from getting a complimentary drink when you sit down (if you want one) to the shoulder massage before you leave - is a 10/10. Fernando, Keith, Chris, LuLu, and David are the homies and will make you laugh while they fix you up like a pro. Been a regular here for 6+ months now and can definitely confirm their consistency. They've made me feel like family already. read more

I brought my dad here for a haircut while my parents were in town, and they did a great job! My dad is in a wheelchair, but there was accessible parking out back and the guys let us in through the back. Everyone was kind and our barber was ready on time -- he moved a chair so my dad could sit in his wheelchair. The shop was clean, the haircut was great, and my dad had a great time. Active Barbers - Keith made this balding mid 40's dude look about as good as he's going to look nowadays - Barbers Near Me - Santa Monica, California

Having just moved to town, I was in search of a reliable and skilled barber... simple enough, right? NOPE. I had searched for a few weeks and had some terrible cuts by some shops I won't name (on Montana) that OVERCHARGE and are UNDERSKILLED! Then I found Active Barbers and was lucky enough to get cut by Lulu. Not only did she give me THE BEST and most CRIPSY cut I'd had in years, but also the environment of the shop was very welcoming and professional. PLUS she got me in and out of there FAST which is important for my work schedule. I haven't gotten cut by anyone else on the team but I'm sure if I did, I'd get the same good experience. I'm very grateful to have found this shop - high quality cuts at a very fair price. Stop by!!! read more

David has been my barber closer to a year now! He listens to what you want. Will tell you if he thinks something won't work AND WHY! He really has done such a GREAT job with my fades!! I would love to come every 4 days so I can have my high bald fade fresh. I was going about once a week. I am not going now; I rock a shaved head during the summer!!
