My son has been with Omar's since age 3. My son is now 6 years old and remains a loyal customer of Omar's Barber Company. My son was always very afraid of the barbershop despite his experiences all being pleasant and trauma free. He would cry, scream, tantrum, and get out of the chair; leaving little to no hope for me and a very hard task for his barber. We started with Tony 3 years ago. Despite Tony's amazing work and dedication; my son didn't adjust and we changed to another barber. Barber two, a very nice female (forgot her name), did an amazing job and his first haircut with her was a breeze; leaving me and Tony shocked . On haircuts number two and three, he lost his cool and made it very hard for her. Omar noticed the hardship I was experiencing every trip to the shop and suggested we try with barber James. James worked on his 5th haircut I believe and like everyone else was in for a ride. Due of my son's outbursts, 30 minute haircuts were taking 1+ hours to complete. Despite all the tantrums, outbursts, and creative ways to cut; James remained empathetic of our plight and focused on our goal. James and I worked diligently for about a year and a half before we finally saw a breakthrough (thanks Omar! ). Despite all the chaos and lack of cooperation, James has never cut or made mistakes on his haircut and ALWAYS delivers a fresh, crisp and beautiful cut. James is a very patient, understanding, and professional barber. His expertise shows with how he deals with and treats his clientele; especially my son. He's accommodating to us (changed his kid slot appointment to an hour instead of 30 minutes). Despite the time and dedication its taken James and Omar to achieve this success; they've never charged me an extra fee; never turned us away or denied service; and always accommodated us to ensure the shop was comfortable while he was in the chair. From music, to shows, to Cali girl; they tried it all to ensure my son feels comfortable and welcomed. He's completed three very successful haircuts this year with NO tantrums, tears or outbursts. As always, he's excited to be compensated with his hot wheels car at the end of every cut. Today we walked out with a beautiful NYC inspired fade and my son LOVES his haircut! Thanks so much for helping us achieve this milestone read more

My experience at Omar's barber shop was phenomenal! I recently moved to Venice and was looking for a new barber, I decided to try this place. My hair is really hard to cut. Tony, the barber who cut my hair gave me some suggestions and I gave him free rein to cut it however he thought would be best. Tony gave me the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life hands down!! This place has a great atmosphere, everyone is really easy to talk to, (and there's a full bar!) Safe to say I found my new barber long term!! Definitely recommend this place read more

I am very particular when it comes to getting my hair cut and styled, and therefore I do a lot of research when the time comes to find a new person to be my barber. After doing my research I came to Omar's barbershop and had my hair cut and styled by Jeanette, and WOW! She is hands down the best most competent and thorough barber I have ever had (Omar is fantastic too). Jeanette did not rush at all and really took the time to get a feel for the way my hair grows, as well as paying attention to my cowlicks etc. She gave me such a fantastic haircut that I have now been getting compliments on literally everyday! Not only is she fantastic at following directions when I show her a picture or explain the look I am wanting to try, but anytime I am feeling adventurous and ask her for a style that would work well with my type of hair, she always has great ideas and makes me look/feel like million bucks. I can not emphasize enough how great she is and if you are picky like me, and take pride in your appearance then look no further because you will not find a better barber in LA! I HIGHLY recommend! P.S. I have been seeing her for months now and I can no longer keep track of all the compliments I have gotten due to her skills. read more

I've been going to Omar's for about 2 years now and have gotten my hair cut by each barber there. Every time it's meticulous, sharp, clean, and styled the way you ask for it. Everyone in the shop has such friendly chat and tailor your haircut specifically to you so you'll walk out with exactly what you pay for. I've tried to squeeze in a 30 min haircut before with them and they won't let it happen because they value quality and a thorough haircut which takes at least 45 minutes. I'll be going back again next month, and the next month, and the next month until they get sick of me! read more

There are barbers... and then there are Masters. Tony D is a master: intuitive and uncompromising, versatile, kind, undaunted and imaginative-- the man is clearly an artist at his craft. I have never had such an incredible experience with a barber until Tony D. I adore him and would recommend him to any beautiful human being who wants the best barber around to give you spectacular results. Tony Destiny indeed. Also the place was great-- chill, comfortable, great drinks and music, and also easy to find. Venice is lucky to have this spot. read more

I've had good haircuts at Omar's before, but the one I got recently was so bad I thought it was a sick joke. The guy made me look like Kim Jong Un. Now I have to go to a real barber. read more

This is my spot! I regularly come to Omar's for amazing, high quality haircuts and always a fun experience! Omar, Carmen, Tony, and the staff here are all very skilled, talented, professional, accommodating, attentive, patient, personable, hospitable, fun, down-to-earth, and always have a great sense of humor. I love the overall vibe, music, and interior design/style here! Omar is always personally invested in and cares about meeting my specific needs and always gives a very satisfying haircut and fade. Carmen is now at Omar's, and she's such a rock star! My POV is that it's important to develop a longer term relationship with your barber, so you can work together and continue to develop and evolve your styles. I've been working with Carmen for over a decade now, and I absolutely trust her skill and her judgement. I've also gotten to know her as just an absolutely terrific human being! I think anyone would be lucky to work with her, so don't hesitate, make an appointment with her @ Omar's now! read more

Not usually picky about haircuts but this was one of the worst ones I've ever had. My "fade" was left completely uneven with clear lines where the length abruptly changes without being blended at all. Not sure why everyone praises the vibe either when no one greets you with as much as a hello when you walk in. My barber seemed eager to finish and move onto the next person as quickly as possible, especially after having him correct the length. In the middle of my haircut he asked his coworker for a weed pen which seemed unprofessional, and was bummed when he didn't have one, not that getting a little high could've made my haircut much worse anyway. read more

Just had a haircut at Omar's Barber Company with Omar himself, and love it. His technique is on point! This is the most comfortable barber chair I've ever sat in as well. Omar's barber company is hands down the best place to get your haircut in the Los Angeles area and it couldn't achieve that status without Carmen! I have been a loyal customer of Omar's for 5 years now, he has helped me navigate shorter looks, longer styles, and a variety of cuts in between. He helped me better understand how to take care of my hair, how to best style for what I want, and best of all - he remembers and always follows up. Omar has always been helpful with cuts, trims, and even beard stylings. He has helped me look better and feel more confident after every visit. I recommend Omar for any occasion! Having just moved to LA, I was initially nervous about finding the right barber who would cater to my style.
