My wife has been coming here regularly since she first started driving, so it's safe to say we've been customers for over 12 years. One of the panels on the back of my Tesla came undone after driving through a deep puddle and started scraping the ground. I still had to make it from Burbank back to Lake Balboa, so I took a chance. I walked into Dave's, explained the situation, and asked if I could pull in just to get some help popping the panel back into place. Not only did they let me pull right in, they went above and beyond. They didn't just snap it back in -- they took their time, inspected it, replaced some bolts, and even zip-tied it to make sure it was properly secured. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that at all. It was a really pleasant surprise, and I wanted to leave this review to show my appreciation. They didn't charge me anything, even though they easily could have. I was fully ready to pay -- even said I'd pay for an oil change -- but they didn't ask for a thing. I told them lunch was on me and tipped the crew a blue face to say thank you. We get our oil changes here regularly, and they're always kind, efficient, and honest. There's nothing better than supporting a family-owned business that genuinely looks out for people. He called about an hour before I needed it saying they were wrapping up and shared the final price which ended up being a few dollars less than the original estimate. I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.

The man at the front with a beard and big belly allowed me to drive my car into the shop drive thru even when it was close to closing. His crew or crew mates for that matter were also relatively friendly with good service. One of them was a young man with dreads who instructed me of the things they offered to help lubricate parts of the car if needed. Although he offered it to me, there was no pressure into applying any of the things required. Another man, with a hat on offered to lubricate the doors and hinges and also pump the tires up and clean the windows on the dashboard of no charge, although I offered to do it myself, he insisted he can take care of it. I already knew it was free, but I was testing his attitude, it was quite friendly nonetheless Moreover, a bigger and older gentleman instructed each of the men outside to due specific tasks in a quick manner. One of the gentlemen offered me a soda, although I don't drink soda, I kindly accepted a 7-up and decided I could give it to someone else who needed it, I decided to give it to a thirsty man begging for change at target. It ended up being a great day. The value however, big issue. I paid over $100 for the oil change even with the small discount offered. I felt the service, required maintenance for oil and 7-up did not equate to this hefty price tag. I didn't add any other supplements like lubrication or transmission fluid and that price I would imagine would exceed $150. Overall, the service quality was great, I was asking a lot of questions but the gentlemen had great patience, I felt it was more robotic service but overall friendly nonetheless. My sister informed me they were good and took her advice, sure they were friendly but pricetag was not. Especially for value for dollar. Overall, the quality was pretty good in comparison to let's say other auto companies and the fact they stayed passed the closing time to fix the vehicles issues, was a blessing. They do tend to have longer times before closing than other places and I believe that's a win in my book. My wait time was nil because nobody else was there and I believe that was lucky.

This is a father-and-son-owned shop, and you can tell they take pride in doing things the right way. The photos I've posted show the old exhaust parts that were cut and removed, the replacement components, and the finished install underneath the vehicle. Everything was fitted cleanly and solidly--no shortcuts, no sloppy work. They replaced my muffler and repaired the damaged section from the theft in just a little over an hour, which honestly exceeded my expectations. The car sounds right, drives smoothly, and feels properly repaired--not patched together. What I appreciated most was their honesty and efficiency. They explained what needed to be done, got straight to work, and delivered exactly what they promised. In a time when catalytic converter theft is unfortunately common, it's a relief to find a shop you can trust. I took it in to a place AAA recommended in downtown LA and explain the issue. They told me I needed a new timing chain along with a whole bunch of other stuff and quotes me $4800 for it. This was preceded with a lot of scare tactics on what will happen if I don't have the work done, which came across as very used car salesman-ish. When I ran the quote through ChatGPT I was told they were charging me dealership pricing for an independent mechanic for that type of work in LA. So I brought the truck here to Speedway where I had Minor worked done before and had a good experience. They told me my bearings need to be replaced and did the work for lesson than a quarter of the price I was quoted at the other mechanic. Work was finished in a day and the truck has been running perfectly since then. Had I spent to 4800 at the place it wouldn't have even resolved the issue, which means I would've had to come out of the pocket even more after the initial work was done. Obviously a truck of this age is gonna have some problems and when they inevitably happen again I will be back here at Speedway to take care of them. Highly recommend this place for integrity, quality, efficiency and fair pricing.

Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

My wife and I went to Active Auto Motors just for an oil change and maintenance. A friend of mine recommended us this place Since he had a good experience over there. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to see the owner (that made me feel more comfortable) , the staff were very helpful, They are very knowledgeable. The prices are reasonable, and we left happy with our service. The last thing anyone needs when you need your car repaired is for someone to try to rip you off, which we experienced several times at various repair shops. Auto mechanics are notorious for overcharging, ripping customers off with services they don't need, etc. What I love about Jerry and Rebekah at Jaek's is that they tell it like it is and explain options or what's going on with your car without upselling, inflating, or fear-mongering. They also take some extended warranties, which makes life a lot easier. Several years back, I took my car to a popular shop in the West Valley (rhymes with Banks) and got my brakes and rotors replaced by someone I thought I could trust. He assured me he was replacing my brakes and rotors with OEM parts (spoiler alert...he didn't). Sometime later, Jerry had to replace the same parts and showed me that I was lied to. Jerry recommended parts he used for his car (same make and model), and I never had another brake issue. Rebekah is also super knowledgeable and thorough, and works hard to get me an appointment even when they're busy. Jaek's can work on any car from luxury to economy, and you can rest easy knowing they're honest, good, hard working people there. Thank you Jaek's for always taking care of us!

Don't let the good reviews fool you be careful! I was having issues with my car not starting out…read moreof nowhere so after changing out both batteries in my key fob I had to call a tow company. Roadside assistance gave me a jump and explained that my battery might be bad but my alternator was reading 14 so it most likely is a bad battery. Got a brand new battery from AutoZone thinking my problem was solved. After having to get another jump I brought it to Pacific on Friday and was told I needed a new alternator and was even shown the reader that read 12.44. I explained what I was told just 2 days before but the mechanic who put the reader on my car kept saying it needed replacing. Another guy then brings me in the office to show me the part costing $881 on the computer and proceeds in a dramatic fashion to tell me it's expensive but labor isn't big so he'll give me a good deal taking it from $990 to $840 and they can do it today. I would've been insulted if it wasn't so funny to me that they would think I was that dumb. After getting the BS speech I let him know I'd need to call my brother. While waiting I had already submitted requests for quotes on Yelp and immediately took my car to Dave's Quick Lube. I explained what the issue was but after running a diagnostic he said it was electrical but my alternator was actually good. Recommended I go to Golden State Auto Repair so I headed there to get my car looked at. They found out a lever was broken something was draining my battery, fixed the problem and only charged me $250! Today was the 1st day I was able to start my car up no issues. BEWARE. It's bad enough to be overcharged but to not even give accurate diagnostics is insane. Not sure if it was me being a woman or black but either way this was a disappointing experience.
