Action Travel Center - Loved our trip to Ireland - Travel Agents Near Me - Hammonton, New Jersey

Working with Action Travel Center was one of the worst experiences I had ever had. My boyfriend and I booked a week-long trip to Rivera Maya and worked with Kim to make all the reservations. At her suggestion, we decided to book an upgraded room that included a private pool. After we paid for the vacation in full, we expected to receive the travel documents from Apple Vacations that include all the reservation details. After weeks of asking, we finally received information on Action Travel Center's letterhead that stated, "Jr. Suite w/ private pool". Still, I pushed for the Apple Vacations documents. When we finally received them only a couple of weeks before our trip, a lot of the reservation was incorrect including flight class, departing flight and room category. After days of going back and forth with Kim and being told "But rest assured you will have exactly what you are expecting when you get there", Kim went radio silent and stopped answering our calls and emails. Our flight was corrected but we got to the resort and we did not have a Jr. Suite w/ a private pool. So, we paid Action Travel Center for something that we never received. They knew exactly what was going on and rather than correct the mistake they made, they decided to do nothing about it, kept our money and lied to us trying to make it look like they were correcting the room with the resort and Apple Vacations. We still enjoyed our vacation and were able to get the money they scammed from us back from our credit card company. We will never use their services again and highly discourage other customers from using them as well. read more

I have worked with Sharon Wilson-Magee at Action Travel for so many vacations, from my daughters destination wedding at ME Cabo, Jamaica twice, Punta Cana several times , I usually always know where , when and airlines I want to use ( she uses all of my reward programs so I get points). This year was different I only knew the time frame not even the country we wanted to go.... but Sharon didn't back away from the challenge. Her and Kim were able to help me decide adults only, then Punta Cana (I'm obsessed with this underrated island) and lastly the resort. I am so thankful for her knowledge of resorts as well as me....lol read more

I planned to remarry my wife for our 20th anniversary. Someone recommended me to this place. Then had a crazy idea to invite 12 family members to my renewal. We picked a 7 day cruise out of NY since we all live in south jersey, action travel was extremely helpful, put up with me taking people away, then adding, then taking away again. They recommended the Norwegian breakaway, because of its size, food, proximity to home. Ect. Well what a great time and experience we had, as the trip got close, imagine 12 people asking me a million questions from A to Z???? Well I new nothing but action travel did, and got to everyone with all the answers. I got frazzled, went bezerk but they handled it all. The food on the trip was great, prices drinks u name it. It all worked out thanks to kim and Sharon. But next time I go to action travel, it's only gonna be myself and my wife! No family. Haha. Enjoy read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible experience. My husband and I booked a Jamaican vacation with 2 other couples. We booked well in advance and from the start there were issues and all they could do was make excuses. First, they were supposed to watch the airfare and get us a decent rate but we had to call and remind them as the trip got closer. They did get it slightly cheaper but had they been checking, I'm sure we could have gotten it cheaper yet. Then we all took the insurance and had issues with that. We all had substantially different amounts and each of us had to waste time on the phone straightening it out. The worst of it is when we booked, we all specifically asked for a walkout ocean from balcony room. We were told that they couldn't guarantee it but because we booked well in advance that there really shouldn't be a problem getting them. WELL.......when we got to Sandals Ochi in Jamaica, my husband and I didn't even have an ocean view and the 2 other couples had ocean view without a balcony. We got there on a Sunday and wasted our time all the way until late Monday afternoon to even get answers. The other 2 couples got moved to an ocean front balcony but the best they could do for my husband and I was ocean from without a balcony. Of course I had to pay they upgrade out of my pocket and they would reimburse me. After we hung up with Sharon, we were told that there were ocean view balconies available on another floor but that would be even more money. Because it was our 20 year anniversary and we were looking forward to the ocean view with a walkout balcony we paid the extra money. When I got back from vacation, I went into get reimbursed and they would only reimburse half of it because they said they only agreed on the telephone about the ocean view without a balcony (which at the time I wasn't aware of any of the other floors with a balcony). They made excuses by first blaming it on the resort (which the resort said there was no request put in for the balcony) and then they had to deal with too many people from our group (myself and my two girlfriends). The best they told me they could do for me was give me a $100 gift certificate towards my next trip that is booked through them. That was the slap in the face I needed to know that I will never be using them again. read more

This was the 1st time I used a travel agent and after my experience it will be my last. My husband and I and 2 other couples went to plan our trip. We booked it 8 months out and expressed that we wanted ocean view with a walk out balcony. ( I noticed at the resort we were going to had 2 different balconies). They said they would note it on our paperwork but there were no garentees. I said I wanted a garentee since we were booking so far in advance they said we should get it with it being noted. When we got to the resort only 2 couples had ocean view without the walkout balcony and 1 couple had garden view. It took us 2 days to straighten this out with the resort (the resort was very helpful). The resort said nothing was noted about a walk out balcony if it was noted we would of gotten it. The other couple had to lay money out of their pocket for the ocean view which they paid the same price as us and were suppose to be ocean view. They had to lay out $400 so they could get the walkout balcony. The travel agent only reimbursed them half of what they laid out. Also when we purchased the insurance for our vacation we all had different pricing. I told them I wanted the cheapest insurance because I never took insurance out before for a vacation and I felt I really didn't need it. When I told my friends what I paid we found out we all paid a different amount and mine was the highest. I went back and asked them how that happened. Come to find out there was another sheet for insurance that they never showed me. We did finally all pay the same price. Losing 2 days of my vacation for their mistakes. read more
