What a spectacular experience. Steve was such a great guide and very knowledgeable about not only…read morethe area but his information on White Pocket was invaluable. Had I come on my own I wouldn't have known so many amazing things about this other worldly place. I met Steve in Kanab at the Coral Cliffs Tours office. We drove in a 4x4 company vehicle. He told me so much about all the history of each area we came across before we even got to White Pocket. I never felt unsafe as he was very professional in his handling in the navigation of the uneven, deep sand dirt road. We spent 3-4 hours traversing the various areas and hills of white pocket while he explained how they came about, the various colors and some great scientific mystery about them. Such a good tour and a heck of a lot more learned than had I just come here to snap some photos. 6-7 hours for $350.00 is a steal for the amount of time and schooling I got and I didn't have to drive. They even provided water! Worth every cent! I highly recommend this tour. Ask for Steve. Excellent guide!

What can you say? This was glamping beyond my wildest expectations! The food was fresh every day,…read moretwo hot meals and a cold lunch each day, cold juice and soda beverages at any time. The guides, Glade and Hannah, were terrific, like personal chefs there to assure you had a great time and were safe. They aimed at the best part of every rapid- a real E-ticket ride. Some advice: 1. bring more alcohol-it was hot in August, probably 100, we are not big drinkers but 3-4 cold beers a day would sure have been nice, we ran out on day 6 2. wear light colored clothes if the weather is going to be warm 3. bring a walking stick, very helpful on the hikes scrambling over boulders and rocks 4. bring more alcohol 5. a waterproof day pack to have some gear readily accessible on the raft would have been nice 6. Have a set of river shoes, and a set of hiking shoes for shore excursions. My river shoes were great on wet rocks in the river, but tenuous at best when hiking 7. bring more alcohol 8. I balked at the sarong idea and regretted it, sarong would have been great to keep cool on the raft and to provide additional sun protection 9. Gel or spray on deodorant would have been nice, I brought body wash but it did not really cut it. 10. Consider going in May-mid July time frame when river is running clear. Once monsoon season starts in Arizona the river runs silty. Still a great trip. GCE is one of the few companies that provides cots and sleeping pads and sleeping bags as part of the experience, other companies might charge extra.

My boyfriend and I called Yermo…read moreon a last minute whim after trying to find tours to Buckskin Gulch during our Labor Day weekend trip. In speaking with Yermo about what we were hoping to see and discussing different location options, we actually ended up organizing a private tour of White Pocket instead. The landscapes were beautiful and so much more meaningful of an experience to be able to have an expert with you, explaining the different features and history. Plus I can't imagine getting out there without a rig and someone who knows the area! We felt incredibly safe, well taken care of, and didn't have to worry about a thing - Yermo had us covered. Our half day tour was fantastic - from the 2 hour drive back and forth to our White Pocket hike and lunch - we talked the entire time. Yermo scouts the best spots, tells the best stories and takes the best shots. He has had many lives, including as an archaeologist, which add layers to what he shares. Really appreciate his patience, knowledge and sense of humor. Highly recommend taking a tour with Yermo, can't wait for our next adventure!

Before even hiring Yermo he talked to me for a long time regarding all the things I would need to make this trip successful. We were originally going to start at Wire Pass to incorporate the Buckskin Gulch, but once we got there he informed us it was quite flooded in areas and would be too difficult to get through so we started at Whitehouse trailhead instead. My friend had gotten a new Iphone 17 and we were able to communicate with Yermo a few times during the hike. You don't see many people along the way and it was comforting knowing we had someone who would keep us informed. We had an amazing and safe trip!!! If safety is your top priority which it was for myself and my friend, Yermo is the person you want to hire!! He also gave us hiking tips for this trip such as Randy Sun socks (a must have) and rubber tips for your hiking poles!!

That one is longer, but a lot more challenging and much tighter fits. We saw a good number of great reviews on other sites for Coral Cliffs Tours and looking at their website, they offered more flexibility in the tours / locations offered. We did a "Pick Two" where we chose the two places we wanted to visit. Communication was great, pricing was great, but my wife and I absolutely loved our guide Hunter! He is young, but professional, knowledgeable, fun and was one of the best guides we have ever had. We saw some other tour companies with open vehicles, but it was nice to be enclosed, with AC and not eating the tons of sand / dirt that make up the "roads" to these locations. 4 WD is a must, and getting to these spots would be a challenge without knowing where to go
