Nice little day trip from the Twin Cities! My son and I took our Friday MEA day and drove the 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities. Parking is very easy and the employees are very helpful. We played arcade games, VR, go karts, mini golf and the trampoline park. My kid enjoyed it all! The go karts are quick and lots of fun for being an indoor track, they do get busy so be prepared to wait. The trampoline area is huge and they even have a ninja course! They have outdoor go karts, a zip line and lots of things to keep your kid and most adults happy for hours! Food is good at the restaurant and they have a DQ, so you can satisfy that sweet tooth! My kid said he wants to go back so I'll call that a win.

Mini golf hole.

I use to love going to action city for the mini golf course. They have let it fall apart. The bricks are no longer secured down. There is metal railing the should be in places but no longer is there. The green turf is turning black. The water is green and has chunks of something in it. Lastly all the holes either have junk in them or are full of green water. I wish there was another mini golf in Eau Claire because Action City's is horrible.

Chippewa Valley Railroad - CVRR - Safety First! The engineer watches backward for problems, too.

Chippewa Valley Railroad - CVRR

The Chippewa Valley Railroad operates on a loop in Carson Park, across the street from the historic…read morebaseball stadium. Appropriate for kids of all ages, especially those of us with grey hair that remember the real thing, the railroad operates passenger trains pulled by live steam or "diesel" power. The diesel, actually a model of GM's famous F series locomotives, runs on a Wisconsin internal combustion engine. It was built by the Miniature Train Company sometime between 1948 and 1956. It is one of at least 5 such trains operating in Wisconsin. (Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Green Bay, Wausau and here.) Chippewa Valley Railroad goes the typical MTC railroad one better with live steam. You can ride the MTC train or a live steam train. The loop is about a half mile and takes you along the bluff above the Chippewa River, past a picnic shelter, over the road that takes you to the depot, past a silent observer (keep your eyes peeled!) before returning to the station. When your train arrives, the next one departs. The trains were obviously built for little people but there is an open-air gondola that's a little more comfortable for larger folks. It's pulled behind the steam engine. Rides are reasonably priced, considering ticket sales are the only source of income for this rolling museum. It is manned by volunteers who love railroads, and you can tell when you speak with any of the staff. The Chippewa Valley Railroad only operates during the summer and only on Sundays and July 4. You might think it's only for kids. In that case, borrow a couple of kids from the neighbors and go ride the train.

Riverside Amusements - Karts are the reason to visit along with the Military discount.

Managing Girl is terrible! However, We love this place, and it is a destination when we come to…read moretown. We appreciate the military discount. Unfortunately, we don't appreciate the managing girl, who wears a mask outside, very much. She has little to NO people skills and has no appreciation for Military service, though the owners of the park do. She won't give the military discount on tickets, just the very first one bought. WTF? We bought a bunch of batting cage tokens for the fast pitch baseball machine. Most all the pitches were over our heads. Ridiculous. We told her and she said, " I know ." We need to get it fixed. However, NO refund could be given. We once arrived there and bought Kart racing tokens. After we paid, she immediately went and closed the track because of "potential" rain. She wouldn't give a refund, said the owners would not allow it. BS. It did not rain for 2 hours. We had to use the tokens weeks later on our way through town again. She is terrible. While we were playing the large connect 4, she constantly worried about us picking up the pieces off the ground. Of course we always did, but as soon as the game was over, she'd yell, " are you going to pick-up the pieces ? " Two seconds after the pieces hit the ground. We had to finally tell her to STOP! She was so damn annoying! This girl should not be in any type of customer service position. When we asked for her name to complain to management, she said she couldn't give it due to safety reasons. She is such a bad person to have running your business. If we see her again, we will just leave. Not worth the aggravation. We do love the Karts and the military discount! Too bad the batting cages suck.

The go carts were a blast and the mini golf was challenging but fun, the $50 pass is definitely…read moreworth it
