The wife needed a few pairs of longer socks for our next country of Ireland which is colder than most of Europe right now, especially at night. They only had a small selection of the high socks and not the right size, but settled for a pair of sandals for 1.3€ - what a deal. We've been to several Primarks in the United States but the size of this one is overwhelming. FYI: this was NOT a paid attraction in Amsterdam.

From the outside, it seems it would not be big; however, to my surprise, there are multiple levels and sectioned for any and everything you can think of. Men/Women/Children's clothing, accessories, makeup, etc. It was like a maze! Needless to say, for that reason I was inside far longer than I anticipated. One thing they have in common is the same great prices. I guess that may be a company standard worldwide, which is a good thing! I purchased an adorable bucket hat and a few other accessories as keepsakes.

At the other side of the ArenA Railway and Metro Station to the Amsterdam ArenA is the Amsterdamse…read morePoort which is an outdoor shopping centre, the largest in Amsterdam! Quite a few big names have locations here including Albert Heijn, Subway and JD Sports, most of these streets did seem decent, and there is a market area too. A lack of information guides / general staff around was a slight problem, at first, it could even be hard to tell you are in something which is a "shopping centre", and they don't seem to have a mall guide which they really are missing, especially as this is the largest shopping centre in Amsterdam. Amsterdamse Poort's location is decent, being close to the Railway Station and the Amsterdam ArenA, but the location, of course, could make it a place to avoid on an event day, as I can only presume it gets hectic. Amsterdamse Poort adds to the feel of the Amsterdam ArenA reminding me of Wembley, as this just feels like a larger Wembley Park in a way (London Designer Outlet etc) Decent place to shop while in Amsterdam as long as it isn't an event-day, not without its' flaws but remains easy to get to via public transport (train and metro) so I do feel a three-star rating is deserved here!

I mean, we need a place to eat before the show! Well, make that left when you exit the station and find all kinds of food and shopping! It was so much bigger than I was expecting! You have grocery stores, clothing stores, electronics, jewelry, body stores, almost anything you could look for. It's a maze, but it has good aesthetics, is clean, and there are maps. I would just go for an afternoon stroll with maybe a snack at the Cinnabon (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cinnabon-amsterdam-zuid-oost)--I'm a sucker for those cinnamon buns!

Seriously! This shop was a real lifesaver for me. I had my connecting flight out of Amsterdam…read morecanceled and I was stuck for an additional 30hrs with an ill equipped carryon. This little shop has everything you could possible need and at a very affordable price point. I was able to purchase a new top, underwear and snacks to keep me going until my flight the next day. They have everything from baggage tags and scales to bras to toys to phone cases! Seriously everything! You can find them on the departures 3 side of the Schiphol airport (before security).
