I was recommended to come to this place by a friend of mine. It is not a fancy accounting office, rather a room with some chairs and a window. It almost looks like a check cashing joint...lol. At Balcom Consulting Services they offer Accounting, Bookkeeping, Small Business Tax Prep., Tax Planning, and Small Business Consulting, they also do taxes for the little people like me if that does not fit into that category. Not only did I get friendly service, a great return, everything was organized and but into a nice neat binder for safe keeping. Here is how they do things: - You walk in, they give you a form - You fill out all of your information including any deductions (student loan statements, medical bills, charity, etc.) - Hand the nice girl at the counter your form and your W-2's. - Wait for a phone call (they are very very quick) - they tell you the cost of preparing your taxes, you come back in with a check, sign the dotted line. *** they spend time really figuring out how to get you your money, they are ethical in every shape or form, they are thorough that is why you have to wait for a call*** I am happy to say I will be using them again for the upcoming tax season, you should too!!

This will be my third year working with them. Jide (the owner) is a consummate professional and really does a thorough consultation. One year I waited until the dead last minute to file and he was on the phone with me the Sunday before the deadline making sure he had everything. He is quite an amazing guy. Just for kicks, I had another tax person review my return and they were impressed with the thoroughness of the work. I highly recommend Balcom if you want someone attentive and thouhgtful who will tell you how to retain your hard earned cash.

I trusted him to oversee my business finances, including proper tax planning and Social Security compliance, also, my personal finances. Instead, they completely drop the ball. Because of their lack of attention, poor communication and failure to advise me on basic tax obligations ended up owing a substantial amount in federal taxes, along with Social Security liabilities that should have been prevented. This has caused serious financial stress that could have been avoided with competent accounting. What's worse is that I receive no proactive guidance, no heads up, no clear breakdown of what needed to be saved or paid just silence, until it was too late. If you care about your financial health stay far away from this company this experience has been very devastating to us.. It has been frustrating, costly and deeply disappointing. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. We owe thousands of dollars to social security due to pure negligence and guidance.

What I appreciate most is the sense of security and peace of mind he gives me every year. Taxes can be stressful, but Jose always makes the process smooth and worry-free. To me, he feels more like family -- like an uncle I've trusted for decades. Even though I only see him once a year, I genuinely look forward to our appointments every time. I had never received my refund from that year, and because of that, I didn't file the following year. When I came to Straight Tax, they immediately got to work and did a Tax Account Discovery by contacting the IRS on my behalf. That's when we found out I was a victim of identity theft in 2021. Straight Tax didn't just stop there--they walked me through every step of the process to resolve my identity theft issues, helped me file my back taxes, and handled everything with the IRS. Unfortunately, I ended up with a large balance for back taxes, but Straight Tax still had my back. They helped me set up a manageable payment arrangement and are continuing to work with me to try to reduce my debt. I don't know what I would have done without them. Straight Tax literally saved my life, and I'm so appreciative of their patience, dedication, and professionalism. If you need real help with your taxes, they are the team you can trust.
