Unappreciated as a canine companion, her only value was to make money. Fortunately, she found her way to BDRR, and ultimately to me. She was understandably anxious, fearful, and kept a distance. That was then. She is healthier. She is happier, wagging her tail and running to me when we play or I call her. She is family. Dixie is enamored with her two new canine sisters, and enjoys being outside feeling the sun. I am thankful for the BDRR. Because of my positive adoption experience, I became a volunteer. When time and weather permit, I try to help the busy staff do their jobs by not distracting them with walking dogs or setting up adoption events. In my experience as Client and Volunteer, I have two important conclusions: (1) the BDRR cares and undertakes every opportunity to find the right home for each dog through patience and compassion; (2) during their stay at the BDRR, every dog is treated like the most adored and loved family member, while waiting for a forever home. Thank you to the entire BDRR Staff for Dixie and all your world-changing efforts. In addition, the BDRR successfully lobbies the government for legislation to protect dogs. It's as important as rescuing and rehoming dogs. Solid, humane work that does not get adequate recognition.

From the moment I walked in, the environment felt unwelcoming. I was not acknowledged for several minutes, and throughout the interaction I felt as though I was inconveniencing the staff rather than being assisted. When I asked to see small dogs, I was handed a flyer with very small photos and told that dogs are brought out individually instead of being viewed directly. This process was not clearly explained upfront. When I asked for clarification, the staff member appeared impatient and annoyed, making me feel uncomfortable for simply asking questions. I was told, "I'm just trying to help you," but the assistance felt forced and dismissive rather than genuine. I also received conflicting information from different staff members about how the adoption process works, which added to the confusion. The tone, body language, and overall energy made me feel like I was walking on eggshells. Based on how I was treated, I perceived the behavior as prejudiced and discriminatory, which was deeply upsetting. As someone trying to adopt and provide a home for a dog--and paying to do so--I expected a respectful, welcoming, and transparent experience. Instead, both visits felt like a complete waste of time. I will not be returning. I would rather travel much farther than ever come back here. This experience was rude, uncomfortable, and deeply disappointing.

I have only 2 guest dogs the whole week, so I hope that I can schedule the sofa cleaning as soon as possible this week. When I saw the little dot on Sola's face it didn't seemed like I have to go to the vet, it was already dry and I wasn't sure if he had that before. Sometimes it is more risky to go to the vet if you have a healthy dog, because you don't want him to catch something where all the sick dogs go. You are right about the amount of dogs where overwhelming this weekend but they where all social with each other, beside Sola trying to "hump" them which wasn'tthreateningbut more likeannoyingfor other dogs. I never had any of my client pay for my sofa cleaning in the last 7 years I am in business, but I also never had a client who rushed to the emergency room with a small scratch and complained about the vet bill. Having dogs in my home I know that some of them will pee on the sofa and I never thought it is my client's fault, but none of my client thought that a small scratch on their dog is my fault. When dogs are together playing, things happen even if you are alway there with them. When I wasn't here, I had a pet sitter (Kaili or Kathy) staying in our home, so I don't even know when that dot happened in his face. I am sending the check with my invoice from the cleaning company as soon as they come out to clean it. Please give a hug to Sola, he is a very sweet dog, but if you are not planning to breed him, maybe he would be a happier dog to be neutered. We would like to see the $82.00 returned to us in 10 business days to 1905 dock st. West Palm Beach, Fl 33401. We are sorry that this ended up this way but we feel that the amount of dogs were a major contributor to the injuries and amount of care taken in this matter. We hope you do take your own advice and charge more so that more quality care could be given to the dogs and not the hot mess we were dealing with.
