Usually clean, usually easy to find products, usually helpful staff. This being said, it still is the best place to get groceries in the area and the only place I really shop. The one down fall. Watch the register because products often do not match up with the advertised price.

My Acme receipt for this visit.

It's no publix, but pretty good, I love the saver stamps that earn you free stuff, plus the monopoly game is fun.

This McCaffrey's Food Market opened in September 2023, a little more than a month ago, in Gladwyne,…read morePennsylvania. It is in the site of the former Acme, and before that Superfresh, in Gladwyne. However, the store is totally expanded and renovated that you can not tell it it is the same location. It is cleanly lit and there are a ton of great options. Upon walking in to McCaffrey's, you are greeted by fresh flowers, has a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and dressings and sauces. As you explore the store some more, you will find the butcher section selling fresh meats, the bakery section with fresh baked goods and the hot food sections. They also fresh sushi and soup. A ton of great items! The bakery section had a couple of Phillies themed cupcakes, which I loved. I had to pick some up. Let's go Phillies!!!! There is also a little coffee shop with coffee, gourmet drinks and pastries. A nice little option. Across from the coffee shop, is the alcohol section, which seemed to have a number of options for adults. There is both checkout with a worker and self-checkout. I like that, so you have both options depending on how much you buy. McCaffrey's is definitely on the more expensive side compared to other options like Acme or Giant. However, most of the food here is gourmet and healthy, so that makes sense. Altogether, McCaffrey's Food Markets is a great new addition to the Gladwyne, Lower Merion and Main Line areas.

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experiences at McCaffrey's Market in Doylestown. This is…read morenow the second time I've raised the same concern, and it's honestly becoming very frustrating. During my visit, I saw a meat department employee wearing his store smock go directly into the restroom. From a hygiene and food safety standpoint, that's very concerning. I brought it to the manager's attention, and while he said he would "say something," there didn't appear to be any follow-through. The employee came back out still wearing the same smock, and nothing seemed to change. What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time I've mentioned it. When customers take the time to raise legitimate concerns--especially involving food handling and cleanliness--it should be taken seriously and addressed immediately. On a personal level, situations like this are stressful, especially for those of us who are mindful of health concerns. You expect a certain standard when shopping for food, and right now, that confidence just isn't there. For a store that promotes itself as high-quality, I expect better hygiene practices, better management response, and better accountability.

Dont ever buy any milk products, sandwiches or any eatable or drinkable items. The milk will go bad…read moreafter a day or two since they keep them in a fridge that is not cold enough. About sandwiches, apparently they're using the same meat until it gets over. Even if its expired one. I saw the same meats in open plastic wraps for nearly a month. They use the same set of disposable plastic gloves for days. Depending on how busy ti is , they'd even skip cleaning the knives and the meat slicers machine they got jsut to make a sandwich quickly. The lettuce is old and dry, they jsut sprinkle water to amke it appear fresh. Same thing with every other eatable item. I happen to talk to another customer who said he was served stinky chicken salad. Lettuce is always old and dry. And most of the food items are either expired or close to expiry. Dont get me started on the random paper price tags on all the products that are $2 more than market price even. If you're buying something to eat, check thoroughly for tis expiry. And I've personally seen little mice running around after sunset. The only thing they're good at is pushing old retired ppl to buy more lottery tickets and questionable smoke stuff.

It's not a wanna be WaWa, it's nothing mind blowing…read moreor worth going out of your way for, but if you are on The Ridge, the people who cashier here are pleasant, the place is old, a bit shabby but very clean, there is an ATM, they sell incense, pet food, ice cream, toilet paper, hot coffee and so on. They have a good stock of of cold, non-alcoholic drinks (Bai5 for one) and soda. The hoagies and deli sandwiches are freshly made to order, always delicious and substantial in size so you can eat well for under $7. Amoroso rolls delivers there a few times a week. If I stop in for a sub, I can usually only eat half at a sitting so I get 2 meals out of one sandwich or my grandparents get a good meal for themselves for a decent price and it's just a stroll for them to get there. They do a brisk business, but there are never any loiterers or panhandlers, the parking area is always clean and the hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7 days a week. Pretty much people just coming and going, not upsetting the flow or peace or flavor of the neighborhood, unlike GoPuff next door to Commissary Food. My grand parents, who are retired, and a lot of their neighbors on The Ridge (as they call it) do a lot of their shopping here for non-perishables, so I guess the prices are okay for the convenience. It's a low key place that has been here for a few decades and lots of people around here rely on it, so 2 thumbs up. New is not always better.

I'm glad they changed their game up and have separate designated stickers for their in-store made sweet potato pies. It really is something you must try. The store is always clean, always people available to help, and almost always start with what I need. I say that as a long time customer but I haven't been to this location in about four years. I would frequent here often when I worked in West Philly but since I moved out of the area. My main purpose was to get the store made sweet potato pies and my mission was accomplished successfully! As you can see in my pictures, I'm headed up to New York and wanted to make sure everyone got the best sweet potato pies I've tasted in a while! The customer service here is exceptional. Just about every register was open and I don't recall seeing any broken down self-service checkouts. While at the bakery, two representatives were talking and clarified for me which was the best tasting sweet potato pie. I wish I had it on video because the lady who helped me clearly stated that my choice was the brat tasting one. Ha ha! I wish I still worked in the area so I could frequent this more because I love ShopRite so much. They do a good job here and I recommend you visit if you need anything!

By the way she was not helping anyone else. Chances of going back, about 10%. There have been other issues in the past that I have not reported, but this incident was so bad I had to come on here. If you live close by my apologies, you're... screwed.
