I want to share my disappointing experience with Randy, the owner of Metro Fitness. I moved In July…read moreand was committed to investing in my health before starting a really stressful job. In July, I purchased a $700 pass for 10 personal training sessions as part of a "summer special", with the promise that a master's-educated trainer would be available. Unfortunately, that trainer never started working at the gym, and I was not informed of this until late September--months after waiting and following up. Despite knowing my schedule, Randy repeatedly suggested trainers who were already fully booked. He then set me up with an unqualified intern who worked at the front desk. When I expressed my concerns, he acknowledged that this wasn't acceptable and offered Pilates as an alternative. However, that turned out to be another false promise, as no sessions or teachers were actually available. After months of back and forth and empty promises, I requested a refund, as it was clear I was not receiving the services I had paid for. Randy initially agreed but then delayed the refund, citing financial excuses like needing to wait until after the "metro gala." By November, I still hadn't received my money, and he stopped responding to my calls and texts entirely. Now it is mid January. This has been a frustrating and disheartening experience, especially as someone in a low-paying position after completing graduate school. I share this in hopes of warning others about this gym and Randy's business practices. If anyone has advice on handling situations like this, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. As an aside, I had a bad experience with a trainer there who was really creepy and asked extremely personal questions. Most of the gym is dedicated to the personal training space. There are never wipes or cleaning supplies convenient or restocked to clean equipment after use.

Douglas, my trainer, is pushing me the right amount to make a difference and I always leave feeling good about the work I've done and his partnership in my progress. Also it's just a great gym. It's a great place to focus on the workout but you always run into cheerful people that work there.

My experience here started with the "Discovery call" where I talked to one of the the owners,…read moreKevin. We talked about my goals, my past fitness journey and my overall stage of life currently. Then I met with my trainer, Devon. At first it seemed too good to be true, everyone was so positive and supportive from just one meeting. Now after 8 months of going, I know it's just the people. When you join KW, you gain this amazing support system. The coaches and staff are absolutely amazing, empathetic and driven people. From the moment I started, people knew my name, always greeted me, and made me feel comfortable. It's really been life changing to have not only someone to keep me accountable to do my weekly workouts, but also to be flexible. As a mom of two toddlers I don't always have control over our schedules and if I have to change a workout last minute my coach is always responsive and ready to reschedule to make it work. No guilt trip, no negativity, just support and positivity every step of the way. The workouts are fun too. Thirty minute sessions of grind, and not as much cardio as one would think. I used to run and loved it, but I will say that was a worry for me. Our cardio comes in different, shorter bursts. Sometimes in the form of games or creative things, not just running or burpees, the boring things. I highly recommend this place for people who need flexibility and support when working on not only their physical, but also their mental and really overall health.
