Amazing work this family does. Ken took one garnet bracelet and made it into three for my daughters and self to wear. Gifted the girls in Mother's Day!! They are beautiful and thoughtfully made. Ken is an artist. He will size, create and suggest a wedding ring for you. I've had many diamond rings made thru the years of living in Vienna. His wife; Maril (spelling?) is wonderful and kind and helped pick out a new wedding band. She is gorgeous & has a good eye. I have been going to them for 25 yrs and they are the best for making jewelry w/ super ideas, and their show room is full. ..... Love this jewelry store and it is worth the drive. Never pressured into buying - Gorgeous choices. Good parking. read more

I visited Achikian Goldsmiths this past Friday to inquire about resizing a half eternity ring I had purchased while abroad. I was greeted by a woman who examined my ring and told me it would be impossible to resize because the diamonds in the ring would be loosened and fall off. She then chastised me for not buying a custom fitted ring. She told me the only way that I could get it to fit would be to add a horseshoe-shaped piece of gold to the inner part of the ring, and she quoted me $125 for the cost of the (14 karat!) gold and labor to put it in, and said the order would take at least a week. I was skeptical that a half eternity band could not be resized, and I also thought the price she was quoting for the gold was unreasonable. I decided to get a second opinion and when I told the saleswoman so, she packed up my things, sarcastically said "good luck", and walked away. I took the ring to another jeweler recommended by a friend, who told me that the band could definitely be resized, and he has resized hundreds of similar bands before. He charged me $35 dollars and gave me a timeline of only 4 days. I am writing this review only because I found the service at Achikian to be unhelpful and I would have liked to have seen a review like this while deciding where to take my ring. I am glad I trusted my gut and walked away. read more

We got the opportunity to see the Achikians' handiwork twice over the holiday season, with an unusual custom order for a ring (pictured) as well as cleaning and restringing on an ancient family set of pearls. We could not have been more pleased with how each came out. The ring especially was a unique ask and we are thrilled with the result. We've done custom work at other jewelry stores before but this was the first time we got to work directly with the jeweler who would make our piece. Love it. We were also impressed by their honesty. We paid an appraisal fee for a different family ring and when the results came back, to indicate that the ring was 14k gold and not platinum (as we initially thought), they credited part of the appraisal fee back to us. We'll be back in the future for sure. Thank you, Ken and Maral! read more

My finger changes sizes based on season, salt intake, etc. If I buy a ring on a day that my finger is swollen, then it looks floppy on days that my finger is not swollen. If I have it resized to fit those days, then there are days that the ring is too tight to wear. I looked into the little sizing balls that they put inside rings. They are fine until you put pressure on the balls. Then they hurt your finger. A friend had a horseshoe shaped spring insert in her ring. It seemed like a better solution. Recently I bought a new ring/setting for my diamond at an upscale arts & crafts show. I wanted to have the horseshoe shaped sizer put in it & contacted multiple jewelers. Two never heard of it. Achikian Goldsmiths knew exactly what I wanted. Ken suggested that I try the sizer for a week before resetting the diamond to insure that it was what I wanted. It is exactly what I wanted. A week later, I brought the ring back to set my diamond into the ring. They did a great job and rushed the order to accommodate me having to leave town a few days later. Knowledgable jeweler, reasonable prices, and quick service! Thank you! read more

I found this place while looking for the perfect engagement ring. My fiancé knew that I wanted a sapphire, but he didn't want to buy me something that I didn't love. So after he proposed, we went ring shopping together. We searched high and low for a local jeweler who could custom design a ring without breaking the bank! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I described my vision of the "perfect" sapphire, the owners and staff found a special sapphire that fit that description to a T. They helped me find a setting that was had a low profile and didn't take away from the sapphire. A few weeks later I picked up the most perfect ring! I love it almost as much as I love my husband to be! I highly recommend this jeweler if you are looking for something that is extraordinary. read more

I needed to find a local jeweler to repair several pieces of jewelry I inherited. I chose Achikian Goldsmiths because they are a family-owned business and had many good reviews. I was not disappointed. They did a fantastic job repairing the pieces for a reasonable price. I always like to endorse local artisans, whether it's baking, art, cheese making, etc. I happened to stumble across Achikan while driving in Vienna and wanted to have my diamond rings set in platinum. Mr Achikian and his wife are extremely professional and friendly. I have used other independent jewelers in Vienna but I always felt rushed and not really appreciated as a potential client, so I skipped them. Mr Achikian did a wonderful job with my setting and I get many compliments on his work. I really see the pride he takes in his work and I happily refer him to others. He is very reasonably priced. I wish I could give them 10 stars. read more

Love Ken- not only did he just size my grandmother's Art Deco platinum band perfectly- but my fiancé just got me a stunning matching wedding band and I was able to get it in 18k white gold, it matches perfectly. The diamonds in the new band are such high quality and are perfect clarity. Ken took a cast of my engagement ring (emerald cut) and is now fitting my new band around the engagement so it shines! It's a perfect stack! They have made beautiful pieces for many of my friends. I am very pleased to trust Ken to make original pieces as well as modify my new pieces. Appraisals are done and conveniently. The prices are fair and reasonable. If you have a budget, Ken will make you want you need and you will be happy! In busy DC Metro, it is nice to have a family jeweler. read more

I will go to Achikian's for all of my future jewelry needs. I initially purchased an engagement ring and eventually got wedding bands from Achikian's, and I can't speak highly enough of the quality of service and the quality of their work! Ken helped me design and eventually made a custom engagement ring that used stones from my wife's late grandmother's ring. I knew absolutely nothing about engagement rings, but the team at Achikian's was patient and helpful. They were honest about what they could and couldn't do, and they were upfront about how much it would cost. After getting engaged, my wife and I purchased our wedding bands from Achikian's. After we got married, we returned to Achikian's to get our bands engraved and my ring resized. We went out to lunch, expecting this to take a few days, but they were done before we even finished our meal! read more

Had a couple of rings resized here along with appraisals done. The price was good and the work done well and completed in the amount of time agreed upon. I was really glad I found this shop. I had purchased these rings online knowing they would need to be resized, the first shop I called close to home quoted me a price over the phone much higher than Achikian for sizing and appraisal, I decided to shop around as I thought the price was excessive. I then went to another shop close by my office they examined the rings and told me they could not be resized due to the placement of the diamonds. Not wanting to give up I went to Achikian after finding them on yelp. So glad I did. Good family run business. Next time I am in need for jewelry or jewelry work I will certainly come here first. read more

Thank you Achikian! My Fiance and I had such a wonderful experience designing our engagement ring together. Ken, Maral, and Katrina help us above and beyond to get the ring of our dreams. They listened to what we wanted every step of the way. From start to finish we had complete confidence that we would be getting the perfect ring. Even though we designed the ring together, I was able to keep the finished product a secret and pop the question without her suspecting a thing! The ring is breathtaking, truly one of a kind, and it left her speechless when I proposed. Thank you so much! read more

Achikian Goldsmiths - Finished product of my fiancé's engagement ring! Thanks Ken, Maral, and Katrina! - Jewelry Near Me - Vienna, Virginia

Achikian jewelers is wonderful. Goldsmith "master" Ken, is amazing and can transform unpolished gold jewelry into a gleaming, sparkling piece -- in this case my wedding rings which I don't think ever shone with such radiance. He also created a specially designed tiny gold "om" for me, to replace another I had worn for years, artistically and perfectly. It hangs on a lovely gold chain and is a permanent fixture around my neck. I can't wait until I (or my husband :) buys one of the beautiful, classy, classic rings, earrings, bracelets or -- who knows? -- in the Achikian collection. Their diamonds also gleam and sparkle temptingly from tiny earring studs to more complex jewelry. In addition to being masterfully skilled, Ken is super pleasant to work with, as is his lovely wife Maral, who is always helpful and fun to peruse and discuss jewelry with. read more

To make a long story short Mr. Achikian made my picky fiancee so happy! She just adores her engagement ring, which he created from scratch (he is after all a Master Goldsmith, and when you are in the store you can actually see him working!) at a reasonable price. It was always a pleasure going to see Mr. Achikian and his staff because they were not stuffy like the staff you would find at the other jewelry stores (who would talk to you in a salesman/saleswoman kind-of way). In fact, Mr. Achikian has a very playful side to him that made you feel at-ease! If you want to have a very beautiful ring made from scratch and do it for a very affordable price I highly recommend going to see Achikian Goldsmiths! read more

We were looking for a friendly local jeweler to help with our wedding bands. We asked them to customize both of our rings, plus needed them to match my band to the 90 year old heirloom rose gold engagement my husband gave me. Not an easy feat! This store is a little gem. My fiance found this place by searching on Yelp and we're so glad we did. He picked out the most beautiful custom engagement ring and the customer service was just terrific. Everyone was super helpful and patient with him. They make sure to not rush you and have really great suggestions. I am sensitive to nickel and other alloys that can be found in platinum so we eventually went with palladium and they walked us through everything - explained the different metals and how to clean/take care of them, etc. We went back to pick out our wedding bands and were reminded of how fortunate we are to have them as our local jeweler. The prices are good, but the level of service and craftmanship are even better. We look forward to bringing them our business in the future - highly recommend! read more

We discovered Achikian when we were looking for a wedding band option that would go with my sister's oddly shaped vintage engagement ring. She had explored a number of shops, and most were out of her price range or generally sold jewelry off the shelf rather than tailoring it. We felt that Kent was very helpful and informative. He seemed straightforward and honest. He gave my sister some options and ultimately designed her a ring with engravings to match her engagement ring--and at a reasonable price. Everything went smoothly--it fit great, it was completed on time, the shop was accommodating in arranging delivery options (my sister lives out of town). We were all very pleased. Next, my mom (who didn't know of a jeweler she could trust in her city) asked Achikian about options for resizing some of her rings. Her discussions with them gave her a clear understanding of her options and gave her some extra information to consider. She had them resize and fix up one of her rings as a test case. She was so pleased that when she next came back to town, she asked Achikian to resize 10 more rings. They all turned out VERY well. Most recently, my brother had Achikian resize my grandfather's wedding band for my brother to wear when he gets married this spring. In general, I feel that I can count on Achikian for good information, honest dealing, clear explanations of options, timely delivery, and fair pricing. I highly recommend them. read more

I was referred to Achikian by a coworker when I was shopping for a custom wedding band to match my fiance's engagement ring, purchased at Jareds, as well as the purchase of my band. Long story short, Ken and his staff are amazing, incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. It's rare these days to find great service and great/fair pricing together. The process went very smoothly, Ken always had each stage done when he promised and answered all our questions and educated us on the process while showing his extensive knowledge and experience. The ring is amazing and the future Mrs. cannot wait to wear it for the rest of her life. I will never shop anywhere else for jewelry. read more

I had a ring that was missing a diamond, and did not want to spend a lot of money on getting it replaced. I shopped around several jewelry places (some independent, some chain stores) and was constantly being upsold on replacing the diamond, which would involve an amount of money that I did not want to spend. I finally decided to try here and I found the staff very friendly, helpful, and most of all, completely willing and respectful to do what I wanted, and for a price I wanted to pay. The work was done beautifully and when I returned for a minor adjustment, they were more than happy to accommodate on the spot. They have a beautiful selection of rings, as well as unique items. Very happy to be able to wear my ring again. read more

Incredible customer service and workmanship. My husband wanted to get me a new wedding band for our 5th anniversary. We took my engagement ring to Achikian to have them custom make a band. Fantastic jeweler! My husband and I needed to replace my wedding band and engagement ring after 20 years. Everyone there, including the jeweler who sat down with me to personally discuss everything, was wonderful. We went to many other jewelers in the area and nothing compared to their service, knowledge, and kindness. They listened to what we wanted and understood that we needed to work within a budget. In addition, we never felt any pressure from them, they were simply patient and willing to work with us to find what we needed. In the end I have a beautiful, perfect wedding band and will be going back to pick up the matching engagement band soon! Wonderful, unique selection; personal service; on-site jeweler; fair (if not better) prices compared to other stores. If you need a jeweler, this is the place! read more

I found Achikian Goldsmiths through reviews on Yelp and several other sites and had an excellent experience with them. I always prefer supporting smaller, family-run businesses over big box stores. I visited Achikian to rework a pair of gold earrings which would not fit through my pierced ears, to replace a small gemstone in an old bracelet, and to sell some pieces of jewelry that were no longer to my liking or broken and not worth fixing. They did excellent work on the earrings, redesigning the wire and its clasp, and on replacing the gemstone in the bracelet. They clearly explained the policy and procedures on selling the jewelry and offered either a cash (check) option or a higher amount to be applied to a purchase in store. I was very much tempted by the beautiful jewelry they carry but decided to go with the check as the last thing I need is more jewelry.....but if I change my mind or need a jeweler for any other reason, Achikian Goldsmiths will be my first choice! read more
