Diva Lady Day Spa - Going for a facial!

It's clean, quiet and stylish, with lots of free parking. Monique is personable, professional and with 25 years experience in the beauty industry, she clearly knows what she's talking about. Some of her commentary is Captain Obvious. Everyone knows that drinking lots of water is good for your skin and smoking is bad for it, but now I understand the importance of toner. And she didn't try to hard sell me anything. Whew! Plus she's very thorough. She did my face, neck, arms and hands and included a scalp massage. Sooooo relaxing. I had a grab a coffee before I headed home. I'm planning on bringing my vegan sister here for a facial, or whatever else she might like. I've been on their website, and they have a lot to offer at pretty decent prices. The only thing I DIDN'T like, was the rickety bed thingy I had to climb onto for my facial. Felt like I was trying to mount an ironing board. I'm a big woman, and I didn't really feel like I fit on the thing. I had to tuck my hands beneath me, because there was no place to rest my arms. To be honest, if it wasn't for the conversation, I may not have been so relaxed, and this might be a different review altogether. I mean, I was very relaxed from the facial, but mostly because I forgot I was slabbed out on a tiny cot. This one thing alone is the sole reason I can't give this spa a five star review.

However, after going there about 20 times, I will now say "good bye" to them out of principle. I booked an appointment. But I wasn't feeling well after a dentist the night before. I actually have fever. So I couldn't go. I got lectured over the phone about 50% charge etc. Really? It got waived but with such a tone of voice that made me feel guilty. Well, Ambleside Spa, I understand you have many customers and probably don't really care, but you just lost one permanent one. I value compassion and I didn't see one here. Anna

The girl at the front immediately gave me a pair of slippers to change into and took my shoes and coat and stashed them away in the back. I was then escorted to the changeroom where they had robes to change into if you wished. This place was beautiful and very clean! The change room has 2 big showers and bathrooms. Towels are also provided as well as a few communal toiletries (deodorant, soap, lotion, individual razors etc.) Although I didn't use them I thought it was a nice touch. They also provide lockers that have a code so you can lock up your items. They have a lounge area with a few accent chairs where you can relax for a bit in between services. There's also a mini bar with assorted beverages and small snacks that you can help yourself to while you're waiting. My foot massage was wonderful. Tinkerbell did a great job and I definitely recommend her. Since she's an RMT it was covered through my insurance. I loved everything about this place and would definitely return. The staff provided great customer service.

Lovely, quiet, and away from the city, Essentials Spa is a perfect setting to unwind and relax. My friends and I always book in for the PJ party package with the spa and the inn out here. It gets you one spa treatment, a pizza, night at the inn and movie rental for two people for just under $150. I can't help but tack on a couple more treatments while I'm here ;). Hot stone and aroma therapy massages, pedicures, manicures, wraps, facials and scrubs, you name, I've tried most of it. And I leave every time feeling refreshed and unwound. Be sure to book well in advance. It books up early, and with good reason!

Super relaxing! I loved how they have a little room for you to change, lockers and showers. However I noticed that the men's did not have showers. That would make it a touch better. Also enjoyed having coffee, tea and water in the lounge. I would have liked some small bites of food such as crackers, cookies or a nut mix. Overall the services were good. Mine was a combo of the facial and a massage. Wishing my massage was a bit more intense but in the spirit of relaxing it was a good relaxing one. Great place to go to that is outside of Edmonton.

I have been going to Mimosa since they opened in March 2010 and have experienced several exceptional services - pedicure, facial, manicure, and waxing to name a few. All of the staff are professionally trained and extremely knowledgeable of all the services offered. I had returned from a 4 month trip to a more humid climate (let's be honest, it is hard to go somewhere that isn't more humid then Edmonton) and was having trouble with breakouts on my face - I didn't know which facial would be best. But I didn't need to worry as the owner was able to tailor a facial specifically to my needs. I was very impressed with the results and feel that helped my skin adjust overall to being back in Edmonton. My favorite service is the pedicure. You can select between several options - I generally go with the Express Pedicure and then every once in a while spoil myself and splurge on the Signature Pedicure. They have the big relaxing massage chairs so the whole time your feet and lower legs are being pampered you can also be enjoying a back and neck massage. Mimosa also offer a membership for regular visitors - the membership has several benefits including discounts on all services so I think it is worth it even if you only go a couple times in a year. I love Mimosa and will continue to return regularly. I have also referred family and friends and they have all had the same wonderful experience as I do.
