They took my basic information and said that I will need to fill out an intake form that will be emailed. I still haven't received it. Neglecting someone in need of care is disgusting. The Dr. may be great, but I wouldn't waste my time on a place that doesn't prioritize someone in desperate need of help. Thanks for nothing.

Not only that, I heard through the grapevine that he wasn't a therapist at all but a life coach. I probably should have stopped seeing him right then but that's on me. Then there was the psychiatrist . I had a difficult time with him because I wasn't getting better and he wouldn't adjust my medication. He then suggested that I go to IOP. I had told him earlier explicitly that I would never enter an IOP or hospital again. It's a trigger for me and he knew it. All I needed was a medication adjustment. He seemed inexperienced at times. He seemed to give up on me and so did the therapist/life coach. Like they got to a certain point and just stopped wanting help me. That after a certain amount of time they'd done all they could do. And there was a lot more to be done. So that was the end of Regional Psychiatry for me.

After trying another office for awhile, where I didn't feel listened to, I gave Dr Sonny Joseph a try. 7 years later, I feel heard and would recommend him to my GP or anyone looking for a psychiatrist. Got into the video call lobby a few minutes early and saw that she had jumped into two other calls before getting to me. Granted, the last psychiatrist I had was usually on time and if they were running late they would send me a message as a heads up. I understand that when it comes to physicians that appointments will run over, and I was trying to be aware of her time when I messaged her asking if it would be more convenient for her if I rescheduled the appointment. Fifteen minutes after the scheduled appointment she starts the call, asks me for my name pronunciation, then immediately proceeds to berate me for being impatient. She goes on and on about how she's had to wait over an hour to see her physicians and that if I'm going to act the way I am that I should seek out another physician. I'm not sure how I gave the impression that I was being impatient, I only sent a few messages, one saying that I was excited to meet her, one where I answered a question she asked about what time my appointment was, and the third asking if now was a bad time for her. But she stated that it was wrong for me to blow up her messages when she's trying to see other patients? I'm more shocked than anything, to be honest. I get that being a physician is stressful and she has multiple clients, but for her to hop onto the call and start borderline yelling at me about my conduct was completely unprofessional, and considering that she's supposed to be a psychiatrist, a specialist practicing in MENTAL health... I don't know what else to say. In the end I said I'd reschedule and left the call but I don't think I'll be calling back.
