We've been bringing our son here for years, and I can say without hesitation that this clinic has changed our family's life. What sets them apart is how genuinely they care. This isn't a place that runs kids through a cookie-cutter program -- they took the time to truly get to know our son and built plans specifically around his strengths, his challenges, and his personality. You can tell they think carefully about striking that perfect balance between keeping him comfortable and pushing him just enough to grow. They've also been incredible partners to us as parents. They've coached us on how to reinforce his goals at home, which has made a world of difference in his day-to-day progress. When we needed help coordinating with his private school, they stepped up without us even having to push -- working directly with the administration to tailor a schedule that fit seamlessly with his school day. On top of all of that, our son received speech therapy through KidSpeak here for a couple of years, and the results speak for themselves. He graduated from the program and is now communicating like other kids his age. The speech therapy team was absolutely phenomenal and played a huge role in getting him to where he is today. Every interaction we've had tells us the same thing: these people are in it because they care about our kiddo. The OT and speech therapy are their vendors at Aces which I have no problem . Aba therapy under Aces I do not recommend they give you false promise and will cancel your kids sessions very often . The supervisors aren't that great and the aba assistant s have no experience. Stopped using them I should have read the reviews prior to enrolling what they say is true . read more

We absolutely love ACES! We started sessions in October 2020 and we have seen a difference in our daughters behaviors. She's learned so much about herself and how to manage her emotions. My son joined ACES in 2018, not happy with their admin at all. Their therapist is not bad. I decided to terminate their service because they don't have the heart to serve your special needs kids. They only care for money. Here is my experience, I have an insurance change in Feb and it is my fault that we inform them around mid-January. I know that they might not have enough time to verify our insurance. But instate of discussing with me, what if the insurance is not approved or etc, or asking me, are you willing to pay for the service? They are NOT, they sent me an email right away that the service for my son discontinues right away until the insurance is approved, then they give me back the service. I was so angry with that email, Hello....my son needs the service, and they are only thinking of money. If they discuss it with me nicely, I am happy to pay for it and reimburse my insurance later. This kind of company that only thinks about money, won't help my son at all. They might have the wonderful therapist work with them, but if they don't serve with heart, I don't think they can help my son read more

ABA has changed the dynamics at home. ACES you are the best provider and really providing excellence in your service. CJ helped us so much with my son's behaviors, he was able to connect with him instantly, it was like magic. We are still learning on how to parent. The support has been key. Two stars because they did okay with email communication. I got a couple recommendations from moms for my son to start ABA here. I thought why not since it's actually close to where we go for group therapy and it seemed okay. I filled out the form online because I tried calling multiple times and different days and they never answered. They got back to me right away when I emailed them I wanted to start services and a day later I got an email saying they would be able to start ABA for my son in the mornings. They said I was going to be responsible for 20% of payments since my insurance only covers 80%. Which was weird because I called my insurance before and they said it was 100% covered. The agency I tried previous to ACES didn't tell me I was responsible for any payment and our insurance covered it 100% ( we decided to look elsewhere because the intake manager was beyond rude). Anyways after emailing ACES back asking why they were charging us 20% if ABA is fully covered, and double checking they accepted blue shield, they sent me a paper of our benefits they pulled online. So I called our insurance and asked them and they verified again that we did not have to pay anything, no copayment, deductible, ABA was fully covered and it was a completely separate thing that what the page they sent me was. So mamas, and dads double check with your insurance and ACES to make sure they aren't trying to get you to pay for something that isn't correct. The insurance said they were probably trying to bill them under "inpatient" or "residential" since those were the only two in our plan that we're covered at 80%. It completely rubbed me the wrong way and felt sad. If it was an error on their part they should probably train there intake managers better. Receiving an autism diagnosis is stressful enough. A parent shouldn't have to worry about being able to afford getting their child help. read more

Unfortunately, I don't have great things to say about aces. Our poor daughter has autism. They have left her w/o therapists over and over. Its a revolving door. At every step I feel like they have not had my childs best interests in mind. They have sent several therapists which I have literally had to train myself. We have been with them over a year and she is basically at a baseline of 0-1% improvement. Not great news for a 4 year old. I wish we had put ourselves on a waiting list for another place. The director actually told me I should have zero expectations of the bcba's (superivisors) getting back to me to help with problem behavior and/or emergencies. If you want stable, reliable, experienced, or just a place where you should be allowed to have expectations then stay away from aces. read more

This review is long overdue considering that my Son who has Autism, is now 6 1/2. Like most, the news of course was devastating but not unexpected. In 2007, things were different and no one would even see my Son until the age of 2 to determine whether or not he was Autistic and/ or delayed. In fact, I knew as early as three months that something was wrong! I can recall Googling the things I noticed different about him only to bring me to tears. As time passed, milestones weren't being met and the typical traits of Autism became black and white. So, I just waited and prepared for when he turned two. Let's just say the ball was rolling before he hit two because intervention started a week after his 2nd Birthday. After my Son was diagnosed we were immediately referred to the Regional Center of Orange County by the Doctor who diagnosed him. Well, I already had that appointment set up considering at the time, it took about 3 months just to get an appointment for an evaluation. My Son was evaluated in our home then secondly at a intervention facility in Huntington Beach, Cornerstone Therapies. He immediately qualified for services falling under the criteria of being delayed by 30% in one or more areas. Aces was recommended to us and at the time, they were doing business in the city of Orange. I can see now that the company has grown and flourished into other counties and states. GREAT! Aces provides ABA Therapy, Speech, Occupational Therapy and Social Groups. For a whole year, my Son received ABA Therapy 5 days a week in our home for two hours a day. Eventually, Speech Therapy followed in office with Social Group. I did go through a couple of ABA Therapist, but found one who miraculously connected with my Son. Desiree Fuentes. A Mother herself, full of compassion, patience and understanding; this person helped shape the life of my Son into who he is today. I am FOREVER THANKFUL! We were also blessed with a great Supervisor Courtney Vidal. She was proactive with our Sons goals and helped facilitated his therapies. The Owner is great! I had met her on a couple occasions while taking my Son to Social Group back when they had their office in Orange. She took the time to talk to me and ask me about my satisfaction with my services. I can see why her business has now thrived. For good reason, she deserves it and the children who have the opportunity to be in their program. read more

My experiences here have gone from wonderful, to bad, to why-the-eff-did-I-let-you-people-near-my-kid. =( After the fiasco of obtaining the report, I made a point of asking RCOC to contract the services with a different vendor, if available. They already had a working contract ready to be reviewed by their team, though, so it was a little too late. ACES spam-called both myself and my husband multiple times daily to schedule services, even after I told 3 different people from their organization that we were waiting for a denial letter from our private insurance before RCOC would fund services. By the way, trying to get a real person to answer insurance questions was obnoxiously difficult. They have a separate location that handles insurance questions, but it's not this office and it's not directly accessible via their 1-800 number either. I left a voicemail for a woman named Hope who never did get back to me. The one and only person in the entire organization I found genuinely helpful regarding insurance was Carrie Rubicz (direct line: 760-637-9996). The way ABA services work, to my understanding, is that a Behavior Interventionist (BI - charges $50/hr) works with the child for a pre-set number of hours and periodically (say, every 3wks/1mo) is reviewed by a Supervisor (charges $125/hr) to establish goals, track progress, and discuss with the parents. Since my child is NOT autistic, RCOC apparently didn't fund them enough hours to qualify for a BI's time - so instead we got a Supervisor coming for each session to our home. You'd think they'd have more BI's available! I can't bicker about the pricing, since RCOC is paying for this, but what I can note is that with the Supervisor directly there is no oversight whatsoever. And the lack of oversight is a very big issue for me at this point. Since the folks here are apparently only used to dealing with autistic kids, she is unable to connect and establish decent repoire with my son. He's climbed into her lap a whopping total of once, and that because it was the only way to gain access to a desired toy. He is a very happy, loving, easy-going toddler. He doesn't have much experience on dealing with people who spontaneously go from ignoring him to wanting to be right in his face and talking loudly. I think he may even be a little scared of her. Regardless of what answers I give to her questions, she's arbitrarily decided on a set of goals, even when I've told her repeatedly he knows how to these things (ex: 2-step activities, kicking a ball). She's also arbitrarily decided some behaviors are "problem behaviors" to be worked on, apparently at higher priority than my goals. The goals I wanted to work on haven't been addressed by her in 4 sessions now. I also really didn't appreciate her intentionally antagonizing my son so she could take notes on what his temper tantrums look like (no doubt another goal for her to establish). I feel like she's disregarding my input so she can pretend she's had more effect with him than she actually has. I spoke to RCOC and told them at minimum we need a different person, preferably a BI, and if that's not possible I'll be canceling services. I will not let this woman anywhere near my child again. Carrie R., Emily, Amy, Lisa... you are the rare gems. Keep up the good work ladies, and opportunities deserving of your talents will come your way. read more

We like our supervisor and aba speech girls but the girls in the office at the front desk are so rude and impersonal there's no one to really greet you and I feel like it's very cold and unfriendly until those who work with your children come out to greet you themselves . Last time I tried to make an appointment we waited until 1030 cause there's one girl who can make appointments and she was late to work. Then our appointment gets mixed up even tho I confirmed it and had to swap our aba around to make it and had to leave with out a session to get to another apt... uhg dislike going in there.. doing it for my kid . I come from the world of customer service and let me tell you some people need a retraining ! The three stars are cause of the girls that actually work with my kid. Not the office. read more

My son went to ACES for speech and ABA services for approximately 3 years. The staff were great that worked with him. I tried other early intervention programs and at ACES I had a caring team who always worked with me and communicated my son's progress. We worked a lot on communication and social skills. When I would participate in sessions I would walk through the halls and see joe playful and energetic the clinic was with all the kids. I felt safe leaving my child. They also went in to work with my child in the preschool and teachers were so grateful to have the support they got from ACES. I continue to recommend them to my friends who need ABA and speech services. My son is in a regular classroom and making friends. read more

ACES was disorganized, very difficult to work with, and didn't seek our son's best interest. Poor communication. We asked them to start a "program" and they charged us sessions for it. But they never did start the program. Huh!?! The two counselors they sent were nice, but inexperienced. We, the parents, ended up having to teach them (their trained counselors) how to conduct the therapy and the program. Many, many times they didn't return calls. We had to chase them down to get answers. My son's doctor, his psychiatrist and we recommended against a certain program, but ACES insisted on doing it (against professional doctors & psychiatrist recommendations!). In the end, they wanted more hours (more money?), and did not do what was best for the client. We were very frustrated and disappointed. read more

I am so grateful for the wonderful staff at ACES. My son is autistic and has made amazing strides with the help of the ACES staff. They have made a difficult adjustment so much better for my wife and I much easier to handle. The front office staff has also been so kind and organized. The facility is clean, well-organized and has so many stations for the kids to work and play. I see some of the negative reviews here. I think we have to remember that when working with county services, there will always be extra hoops to jump through. I found the timelines for therapy very reasonable again considering this a county program. If you go with the flow as best you can, this program is an amazing part of our child's life. I can only speak from my own personal experience at ACES but so far I absolutely recommend it if you have a child in need. read more

I have been wanting to write this review for quite some time and have finally made time to do so. ACES has been our lifesaver. They provide ABA, Speech and OT for our son and we could not be happier with all they have done for us and for our boy. Since the very first day that we started receiving therapy services they have been attentive and communicative. I have a very busy schedule so most of the time I do a lot of emailing and they are always very responsive and make sure that we address our behavior issues. Our son has been at ACES for 2 years now and his progress has been exceptional. We could not imagine not having them in our lives and in our son's life. We look forward to continuing his therapy sessions at ACES and for continued progress. There are not enough words to describe how amazing Lauren J. is! Our family is so grateful that our child had the opportunity to work with her while he was getting Early Intervention. Within 6 months, he went from being non-verbal to speaking in sentences, recognizing and speaking all shapes, colors, and numbers, and his behavior issues finally became manageable. I am so glad that we had our child evaluated early so that any issues could be corrected before starting him in school.
