I just read that this company changed their name from Pacific Child & Family Associates to Autism…read moreLearning Partners to avoid all the negative reviews from clients and employees regarding their unethical business practices. Do a quick Google search and you will see all the reviews from Glassdoor and Indeed about this company - many people over several years all say the same thing. Reviews under both company names reveal the same pattern of a company that only wants the money and does not care about anyone but themselves. Many parents say that their experience was terrible, many employees say they treat them badly, and some employees said they were offered a $5 Starbucks Gift card via email to write good reviews about the company and if they could not be bothered to do this then they needed to find another job. From one parent to another, BUYER BEWARE! I'm sharing this because, as a parent of a special needs child, I would want to know if a company like this existed so I could know to avoid them and not waste my time or my child's time. IMO, they should not even be allowed to be in business. UPDATE 6/14/2018: In all the reviews I have read about this company, under the old name AND the new name, the only thing that changed was the name of the company - according to the reviews, the exact same patterns continued under the new name. Whether or not the leadership has changed is irrelevant if nothing has changed for the employees or the clients. I stand by my original suggestion - BUYER BEWARE.

I was at TBR in 2002, between January and December. The drama that has surrounded this place seems…read moreto me to be politicized and blown out of proportion. It's crazy how lives can be upended over the word of spoilt children and liberal moms. At times it may have been tough, but being able to go through it and realize that what we thought was horrible really wasn't that bad helped build character. It's all character building as Kaye used to say. When it came time for me to leave Tbr I didn't want to, I literally wanted to stay and be a cowboy. I learned to ride, barrel race, shoes horses, and got in the best shape of my life up until then. Most of all I learned to work.. and the work ethic and positive attitude fostered in me there has done great things in my life. I had the kind of experiences that I never would have been able to have anywhere else, what suburban kid can say he hiked and camped deep in the Rocky mountains and built fences with his bare hands, bucked crazy amounts of hay and saw the kind of sunsets I saw? I am grateful for being able to be there when I was and meet the people I did while there. I highly doubt that this abuse the kids speak of actually happened because while it wasn't a cush summer camp, it wasn't what they're portraying. Counseling alone can't do the same thing as living the life we did. Kids can fake whatever they want for short periods of time, but after about 3-5 weeks their real personalities come out and only then can you actually work on changing. The only things I hated about it after I left was that the boys weren't allowed to talk to the girls so I felt extra weird coming back to society at 14 y.o. All in all though I've got love for the Chandlers as well as Emily, Brian, Ansel, and everyone I was at the ranch with.

And if I myself, had another minor son who was living out of control (and I thank God that I don't), I would MOST DEFINITELY consider TBR again in my pursuit of finding the best fit to match my individual teens needs.
