I've lived here for about 6 months and the experience has been terrible. I'll start with the good things, the apartment is nice on the inside, rent price is good, and I've had good experiences with office staff, unfortunately that's where the good things end. - Safety: There are frequently sketchy people inside the complex, NONE of the people who live here are even moderately friendly, everyone is rude. Frequent SHOOTINGS from across the street. I've been woken up by gunshots multiple times. -Amenities: Nothing is useable what so ever, it either lacks maintenance or is packed with family's. These people during the summer blast music on Walmart speakers until 11am on week days. -Parking: Parking is terrible, if you have a second vehicle good luck finding a parking spot. So many random vehicles sit around for months broken down. -Trash: you pay monthly for a trash service that rarely actually even comes. People rotten trash sits outside for days. The place constantly reeks. Also no one picks up the poop after their dogs, in the summer you just have to deal with the constant smell of poop. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Don't let the new construction fool you when apartment hunting. When skimming these reviews notice all the 5-star reviews are from people who don't even live here yet. read more

This place is not safe, and management only seems to care about getting people into leases and collecting rent. I've lived here for years, and it's gone downhill fast. - Frequent crime : Shootings at night, break-ins in both apartments and cars, and even stolen license plates. - Broken gate, No security : The gate is always broken, allowing anyone, including homeless individuals, to enter freely. - Residents feel unsafe : People have been followed home by criminals, making it a dangerous place to live. - Security is useless : Calls for help go unanswered, and when they do show up, they take a few pictures and leave. - Not a safe place to live : If you value your safety, stay far away. Apartment hunting and this was the first one we looked at! I see this being our future home! Very happy with the friendly management. Destiny helped us out and she was excellent. Very professional, patient, helpful, informative and kind! Toured the place and am absolutely amazed and love it! There are going to be downsides to anything in life, so I'm not letting the few low star ratings turn me away. The amenities are awesome( pool, gym, park, coffee machine, lounge, games, etc) ! Literally one of thee worst places to live! Management does not care about tenants. The only thing that's good about Acero is the attentive maintenance team. Your car will literally get towed for just anything hence the notice I've posted. If you have any issues with management, don't expect it to be resolved. Everyone is super friendly during initial touring process but everything after that is downhill. They have towing on sight everything single day towing cars for mediocre and false assumptions! The pools will have dirt and debris most of the time! They don't have water meters, they literally call it an average that you use in the household and then charge you almost $200 more on top of your rent for "an amount of water" that they can't even really calculate. Many hidden fees on top of base rent. Don't be fooled by the initial smiles! STAY AWAY FROM ACERO AT THE ALGODON CENTER! There's a tenant in the office every single day yelling at management because of how poor they've been running this place down. And side note found ticks in my unit! read more

I've been living in this apartment complex for a while now, and while there are some positives, the negatives definitely outweigh them. Pros: The location is super convenient. It's close to everything, including the interstate, which makes getting around really easy. The gym is always clean it never smells like dirty socks if you know what I mean. Also the Clubhouse is very spacious and modern if you like to hold private or family events then you'll love it here. I have no pets so I won't comment, on that area but i'll say the maintenance personal do their weekly upkeep and NEVER disappoint. Cons: Management isn't the most reliable. I rented the clubhouse and was told I'd get my deposit back as long as everything was clean and damage-free--which it was--but I'm still waiting on that refund. The pool is only clean for about two days before it's neglected again. Parking is an absolute nightmare. The floorboards are already lifting, and these apartments are fairly new! For over $2,000 in rent, you'd expect better security. Multiple cars, including mine, were broken into in one night, and management didn't even check on residents afterwards. The gates are often broken, and homeless individuals frequently jump them. For the rent we're paying, you'd think they'd install higher or more secure gates, but apparently, that's asking too much. Overall, I'd rate this place a 4/10. It has potential, but management needs to step up and address the major issues--especially security and maintenance--before it's worth the price we're all paying. Trust me this rating took me time and consideration so don't take what i'm saying lightly. I would like to give a shout out to the maintenance team they always come swiftly when a maintenance request goes through. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION YOUR WORK DOES NOT GO UNNOTICED. So I'll just keep updating with every little thing. 2021 had a problem with landscapers entering my patio, office said it wouldn't happen again, come now... it happened again and left a mess! We lived at Acero at Algodon Center for 14 months and it was a great experience. Special kudos to the maintenance staff, they always responded promptly, sometimes within minutes and resolved every issue with the apartment expeditiously. In addition to being hard workers they were also very professional and friendly. I can't say enough about them. I would also like to commend their grounds crew. The place was always kept as immaculate as it could be as they worked tirelessly, seemingly everyday to keep the grounds in tip top shape. I did not have a lot of interaction with the office staff but when I did they always took care of us and I never had any issues with getting things done, such as adding an additional person to our lease. My only issue was the valet trash service because they only were available five days a week and our garbage would tend to accumulate in those two off days. It would be nice if they had trash service, if not every day, perhaps six days a week. Also there were instances where the trash was not picked up as it should have been. Regardless, all in all I would recommend these apartments to anyone that is looking to stay at a place where they take care of their residents and they care about the upkeep. In that regard they are top notch. read more

LONG REVIEW - WORTH THE READ!! My husband and moved in Jan. 1st after waiting 3 months for our apartment to be ready. We were excited after our tour that we were willing to wait. It all went downhill quickly. After 3 months of being there, we noticed the gate was broken, thus random people coming in, cars speeding. I sent an email to management, which they never replied to. The gate, especially the one on 91st and Thomas never works. Eventually my car got broken into by a homeless person and they stole everything. I went in to let management know and they were so uncaring about my situation, they didn't bother to call me back when I asked them to check the cameras. Another incident was when there was a HUGE spider in our apartment, my husband called and let them know we had a 14 month old and two dogs who could potentially be hurt. Again , management said they could do nothing about it and would send out pest control two days from our call. My husband had to physically go into the office and show them the spider to get some sort of response from them. Once we saw homeless people breaking into the apartment and living in them without management even noticing, & homeless people taking showers in the pools, we knew it was time to go. After several unanswered emails, and a letter to Destiny (manager) stated was never received we decided to leave a month before of lease ended. When I called Destiny and forwarded the emails , & let her know about the various calls with Belen (who would always say Destiny was going to reach out because she was in meetings, she never did) she let me know that we would be charged the full amount at move out because IDM was not willing to budge for 1,800. My family and I were concerned for our safety that we left 8/16/2022. Today 8/17/2022 we got the bill for our "move out costs" of $1,900. Mind you we left the apartment clean and the carpets without damage. These people do not care about there tenants or the safety of anyone. And they will respond with "homelessness is a pandemic" or "if someone is going to do something bad they will" I have never felt so disrespected by a group of employees like the employees at Acero . Everyone besides Eric (maintenance) who was the only one willing to go out of his way to make our living there "comfortable" is careless. I urge anyone looking into these apartments to look elsewhere because you will not be happy. IDM is a greedy corporation who hires nothing but NEGLIGENT employees, who only care about making quotas. I will be seeking legal action for all the money I've wasted living there. DONT LÉASE HERE! read more

I have lived here for just about a year and have had a great experience so far. The office staff have been kind and helpful. Maintenance has always responded to our requests promptly and completely the job in a timely manner. We had a problem with our faucet leaking on Easter Sunday and a kind maintenance worker came to our apartment on that same day to fix it for us. We have not personally had any issues with noise complaints and have not ever heard our neighbors other than the occasional dog bark. The gym is open 24/7 and is extremely clean. The grounds are always kept up and I feel safe walking my dog everyday. Overall, I recommend this apartment complex! read more

We like our complex and the amenities overall. The community garden and the dog parks are both such a nice touch! Our unit is beautiful, and we love our location within the complex. Management is nice and has always addressed the issues we have had (which were few). It is the lazy and irresponsible residents who have no regard for the policies of the complex who make up the bulk of the problems. People speed in the parking lot, make tons of noise with their cars, and park anywhere they please. They leave their kids unattended, who cause a ruckus outside of the play areas. I watched management talk to some kids because they were fighting by the hallways, and their parents were nowhere to be found. I've seen some of these kids throw rocks at each other and at the property and shoot water beads into the pool. Their actions are a reflection of their parents, and no one is supervising them and teaching them any better. People leave their trash everywhere. Sometimes, it ends up on top of the covered parking. Someone spilled a container of ranch dressing on the stairs and never cleaned it up. It has been there for around 3 weeks now. People have left soda cans and fast food in the parking lot. Who knows what the inside of their apartment looks like... ... We have a 100% no smoking policy, yet we come home with our apartment REEKING of weed somehow... The pool had broken glass and plastic in it once. Maybe the people at other Acero complexes further west in the nicer neighborhoods have more respect and appreciation for their place of residence? It's a shame that many people around here have a reputation for being dirty and lazy and inconsiderate. Anyway, I appreciate Acero doing what they can to keep up and keeping the clubhouse spotless and everything else pretty clean. They are always communicating with us through email. I also appreciate the community events and the food trucks that we get to have come by. I hope things get a lot better around here so we can keep this a nice place to live! read more

I would not recommend this complex to my worst enemy! I have lived here for 2 years and have been unhappy since the beginning. At first there was a lot of small infractions, that as tenants that pay their rent and keep our property clean should not have. In the last 6 months we have made countless noise complaints about the tenants above us. None have been resolved or responded to by the front office. They have asked for videos of the noise and to call security when they are too loud after hours. Again, no response from Martha or destiny, whom I've spoken to many times. Because of the lease break fees and the transfer fees we have no options other than to listen to our upstairs neighbors stomp all night and day. The most frustrating part is the premium we pay for an apartment complex that says words like "luxury" and "high end", all the while not being able to sleep because of the constant screaming from a toddler upstairs. We will be moving anywhere else after our lease is up. Read the reviews before you lease because most of them complain about the same thing. MANAGEMENT! read more

I moved in March 2022 and my move in experience was pleasant and very quick. I decided to live on the 2nd floor and I did not like it at all. The flooring is very thin that I could hear my upstairs neighbors phone vibrating. I submitted a doctors note to the front office explaining that I get severe migraines from constant stomping above me and loud drilling. Without hesitation, the front office moved me to a 3rd floor directly next door from my current apartment. They did a walk through with me in my old apt and they gave me notes on what I needed to fix/clean in order to get my entire deposit back. They were very very helpful and I'd like to thank Martha, Thomas, Perla, Crystal, Destiny & Belen. Even the maintenance crew has been super helpful with staying on top of my constant requests! Thank you Eric & Geo! All of these employees went above and beyond to help me with alllllllll the little details that comes with moving like my mail, my maintenance requests, my deposit. No apartments are perfect but I've lived in maybe 20 apts in my lifetime and I can honestly say this is the best one that I've found for such an adorable price. The valet trash is IMMACULATE! The pool not being 24 hrs has actually helped make the community that much more quiet and peaceful. And I absolutely LOVE the 24 hour gym. There are a few too many spiders that I've seen so I took it upon myself to buy spider raid but Acero offers complimentary pest control every Monday! read more

We moved back in early December and the apartment was absolutely disgusting. Not to mention there was a live tick in the laundry room. I had to end up cleaning the entire apartment myself on move in day and they didn't take care of the tick situation until Wednesday (we moved in on a Saturday). My husband had to go buy pesticide himself to spray our apartment in the mean time. whether it's 1 am or 1 pm you will hear engines revving in the parking lot, people speeding and blasting music, kids running around unattended (asking my husband for money and food). We were under the impression this was a non smoking community but every time we walk out you smell nothing but weed and even see people smoking by the kids playground with children around. People constantly walking their big dogs without a leash. Last week we had a big spider pop up in our apartment even though we've already had our place sprayed at least 3 times for crickets, spiders, and other bugs. Called the front office to let them know and the girl on the phone said there is nothing they can do about it until Monday when pest control comes (it was barely Wednesday). When I let her know we can't wait that long because we have a baby she said "well they're not venomous but they do hurt when they bite so you should be fine."Great, good to know. Once again, my husband had to spray with his own pesticide. Called the next day to speak with the manager and was told she was not available but they will call me back. Did not call me back. They basically jerked us around until my husband had to physically go into the office and show them a picture of the HUGE spider he had to kill. Living here is not worth the amount of money we spend. Not sure how there are so many 5 star reviews but since moving here it has been a nightmare and management hasn't shown they care at all. read more
